Charging Your Headset
Your new headset performs best when it is fully charged. While your headset is charging, the indicator light glows red. When your headset is fully charged, the indicator light turns blue. Do not use your headset while it is connected to the charger. How to Charge Your Headset Using the AC Charger

What Is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth wireless technology provides a way for devices, like headsets and phones, to communicate with each other without wires. Pairing is the set-up process of introducing your headset to your phone. Before using your headset for the first time, you must pair it with your Bluetooth-enabled phone. Plantronics QuickPair Technology To simplify the Bluetooth setup process, your new headset uses Plantronics QuickPair technology. This process is shown on the next page. he first time you turn your headset on, your headset T automatically enters pairing mode for 10 minutes (the indicator light flashes red and blue). U ntil you successfully pair your headset with a Bluetoothenabled phone, every time you turn it on it will enter pairing mode. To later pair to a new phone, turn on the headset, then press and hold the Call Control button until red then blue flashing appears, which indicates pairing mode status. Range (the distance between headset and phone) o maintain the connection, keep your headset within 10 meters T (33 feet) of your phone. or the least amount of interference place the headset and F phone on the same side of your body. How to Pair Your Phone With Your Headset for the First Time
1 Turn on the Bluetooth feature on your phone. 2 Turn the headset on.
For most phones, select Settings/Tools > Connections > Bluetooth > On. See your phones user guide for more information. Turn on your headset by sliding the Power On/Off Switch toward the microphone. Wait until the indicator light flashes red then blue. If you dont see the red then blue flashes, turn the headset off, then turn it on again. Press and hold the Call Control button until you see the red then blue flashes that indicate pairing mode status.
3 Set your Bluetooth phone to discover to locate the headset.
This usually involves going to setup, connect or Bluetooth menu on your phone and selecting the option to discover or add a device.
4 Once available headsets are listed, select your headset (for
example 2XXPlantronics or 3XXPlantronics). If prompted for a passkey, enter 0000. When pairing is successful, the indicator on your headset flashes blue. Your phone will also confirm when pairing is complete.
Adjusting the Fit
The headset comes out of the box with the earloop in place to wear on your right ear.
1 Place the earloop behind your ear.
Rotate the headset so that the speaker rests comfortably in your ear. Callers can hear you best when you point the microphone towards the corner of your mouth.
2 Align the microphone with the corner of your mouth.
Right Left
Its easy to move the earloop to fit on your left ear.
1 Lift the earloop. 2 Swivel the earloop to the right and push it back down.

Reject an incoming call
Press and hold the Call Control button until you hear a low tone.
Missed call indicator
Briefly press any button to cancel the indicator light.
Two simultaneous red/ blue flashes, a pause, then two more red/blue flashes (repeating for 5 minutes or until cancelled).
Action Enter the number on your phone and press send. Blue flash every 2 seconds until the call is ended. Make a call To check, simultaneously press and hold both the Call Control and Volume buttons for about 2 seconds. The indicator light flashes to show the charge level. Tap the Volume button to Single blue flash for every increase through 4 levels; volume level change. tap at top level to return to lowest volume setting.

Troubleshooting
My headset does not work with my phone Your headset may not have been in pairing mode when your phone was searching for it. Repeat the pairing process on page 3. You may have made incorrect menu selections on your phone while pairing. Repeat the pairing process on page 3. Callers cannot hear Make sure the headset Power Switch is in the ON position. me, or I cannot hear callers/dialing Your headset may be out of Bluetooth range tone or experiencing interference. What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth wireless technology provides a way for devices to communicate with each other using short-range radio frequency instead of wires. Any two Bluetooth devices can communicate as long as they both have Bluetooth turned on, they are within range and they have been paired a quick handshake process that connects the two devices. Bluetooth range is up to 10 metres (33 feet). Obstructions such as walls or other electronics devices can cause interference or shorten the effective range. NOTE For optimal performance, place your headset and phone on the same side of your body.

Charging Your Headset
How to Charge Your Headset Using the AC Charger Before using your headset for the rst time, charge it for at least 20 minutes. A full charge takes approximately two hours.
Connect the AC charger to a power outlet. Plug the AC jack into the charging jack on the headset.
While your headset is charging, the indicator glows red. When your headset is fully charged, the indicator turns off. Do not use your headset while it is connected to the charger. NOTE Never charge the battery where the temperature may fall below 0C (32F) or rise above 40C (104F) for example, in an unattended motor vehicle. Do not charge the battery while it is unattended. CHARGING TIME 2 hours.

Pairing Your Headset
Pairing is the process of introducing your headset to your phone. Before using your headset for the rst time, you must pair it with your Bluetooth phone. Normally, you need to pair your headset with your phone only once. Plantronics QuickPair Technology Your new headset includes Plantronics QuickPair technology to simplify the Bluetooth setup process. The rst time you turn your headset on, your headset automatically enters pairing mode for 10 minutes (the indicator light ashes red and blue). Once paired successfully, your headset stays on for instant use. If not successfully paired after 10 minutes, your headset automatically goes to standby mode. When you turn the headset off then on again, it automatically goes into pairing mode until successfully paired with a Bluetooth phone.

How to Pair Your Phone With Your Headset for the First Time

Turn on your headset by sliding the power switch forward. Wait until the indicator light ashes blue and red. If you dont see the red/blue ash,turn the headset off, wait, then turn it on again. Wait until you see the red/blue ash.
Use the commands on your phone to locate your headset. For most phones, select Settings/Tools > Connections > Bluetooth > Search > 2XXPlantronics. See your phones user guide for more information. When prompted for the passkey, enter 0000. Pairing is successful when the indicator on your headset ashes blue. Your headset is now connected and ready to use.
How to Pair Your Headset if it Has Been Previously Paired With Another Device
Turn the headset off. Slide the power switch off, then wait until the indicator turns red and then turns off. Turn the headset on. Slide the power switch on. After the headset is powered on, press and hold the call control button until the indicator light continues to ash red and blue. Use the commands on your phone to locate your headset. For most phones, select Settings/Tools > Connections > Bluetooth > Search > 2XXPlantronics. See your phones user guide for more information. When prompted for the passkey, enter 0000. Pairing is successful when the indicator on your headset ashes blue. Your headset is now connected and ready to use.
Adjusting the Fit
To remove the earloop, gently pull up on earloop near the Plantronics name until you hear a snap. Position earloop as shown above, then gently snap back onto post. Place the earloop behind your ear. Rotate the headset so that the speaker/eartip rests comfortably in your ear. Align the microphone with the corner of your mouth. Callers can hear you best when you point the microphone towards the corner of your mouth.
Headset Controls
Turn on the headset Slide the power switch on, then wait until the indicator glows blue. You will hear ascending tones. Turn off the headset Slide the power switch off, then wait until the indicator glows red. You will hear descending tones. When power is off, indicator stays off. Answer a call Briey press the call control button. When you receive a call, your phone may ring before your headset rings. Wait until you hear the ring in your headset before you press the call control button to answer the call. Reject a call Make a call When phone rings, press and hold the call control button until you hear a single low tone. Enter number on your phone, press send, and the call is automatically transferred to headset; no need to press call control button. Tap the volume + button to increase volume. At the upper limit you will hear two tones. Tap button to decrease volume level. (There are eight volume levels.) WARNING Do not use headphones/headsets at high volumes for an extended period of time. Doing so can cause hearing loss. Always listen at moderate levels. To maintain a connection, keep your headset within 10 metres (33 feet) of the Bluetooth device. If there are obstacles between your headset and the device, you may experience interference. For optimal performance, place your headset and phone on the same side of your body. Audio quality degrades as you move out of range. When you are far enough away to lose the connection, you hear a high tone in the headset. NOTE The headset attempts to reconnect for 30 seconds. If you move back in range after 30 seconds pass, you can manually reconnect by pressing the call control button. NOTE Audio quality is also dependent upon the device with which the headset is paired.

Hands-Free Features
If your phone and your wireless service provider both support hands-free operation, you can use the following features: Redial the last number To activate last number redial, double press the call control button. You will hear a double tone after each doublebutton press. With the headset on, press the call control button for 2 seconds to activate the voice dialling. NOTE To use voice-activated dialling, the voice-dialling feature must be enabled on your phone. See your Bluetooth phone manual for instructions. Reject a call When receiving an incoming call, press the call control button for 2 seconds to reject the call.

My headset does not work with my phone. Headset was not in pairing mode when mobile phone menu selections were made. See page 5 Pairing Your Headset.
