The world's smallest digital music player, the iPod shuffle lets you wear your favorite songs on your sleeve. Or your lapel. Or your belt. Clip on iPod shuffle and wear it as a badge of musical devotion. You know what they say about good things and small packages. But when something 1.62 inches long and about half an ounce holds up to 480 songs, "good" and "small" don't quite cut it. Especially when you can listen to your music for up to 12 continuous hours. In fact, ... Read more

I just received one of these as an unexpected gift. I did not open it or try it as I suspected it would not be useful. After about 10 hours of use it does not work anymore. I may have spend 15 hours trying to fix it. I reloaded the software many times.

I got my 2nd gen shuffle a few months ago and have had no problems. It is so easy to use even a caveman could do it. I love this little guy but am on my 4th one (all 2nd gen) in 7 months. I use it for running (usually 40-50 minute runs) and am very careful with it.

Ipod shuffle Ipod Shuffle works great and I have had no problems with it at all. Great product, but.... The shuffle arrived in its "new" status, with an expired warranty and a charger cord instead of a dock.

With iPod shuffle, you can take your music collection with you wherever you go. Read this chapter to learn about loading music and listening to iPod shuffle.
You use iPod shuffle by importing songs, audiobooks, and podcasts (radio-style audio shows) to your computer and then loading them onto iPod shuffle. Read on to learn more about the steps in this process, including: Getting music from your CD collection, hard disk, or the iTunes Store (part of iTunes and available in some countries only) into the iTunes application on your computer Organizing your music and other audio into playlists Loading songs, audiobooks, and podcasts onto iPod shuffle Listening to music or other audio on the go

About iTunes

iTunes is the software you use to sync music, audiobooks, and podcasts with iPod shuffle. When you connect iPod shuffle to your computer, iTunes opens automatically. This guide explains how to use iTunes to import songs and other audio to your computer, create personal compilations of your favorite songs (called playlists), load iPod shuffle, and adjust iPod shuffle settings. iTunes also has many other features. For information, open iTunes and choose Help > iTunes Help.
Importing Music into Your iTunes Library
To listen to music on iPod shuffle, you first need to get that music into your iTunes library on your computer.
There are three ways to get music into your iTunes library: Buy music and audiobooks or download podcasts online from the iTunes Store. Import music from audio CDs. Add music and other audio thats already on your computer.
Buying Songs and Downloading Podcasts Using the iTunes Store
If you have an Internet connection, you can easily purchase and download songs, albums, and audiobooks online using the iTunes Store. You can also subscribe to and download podcasts, radio-style audio shows. To purchase music online using the iTunes Store, you set up an Apple account in iTunes, find the songs you want, and then buy them. If you already have an Apple account, or if you have an America Online (AOL) account (available in some countries only), you can use that account to sign in to the iTunes Store and buy songs. To sign in to the iTunes Store: m Open iTunes and then: If you already have an iTunes account, choose Store > Sign In. If you dont already have an iTunes account, choose Store > Create Account and follow the onscreen instructions to set up an Apple account or enter your existing Apple account or AOL account information. To find songs, audiobooks, and podcasts: You can browse or search the iTunes Store to find the album, song, or artist youre looking for. Open iTunes and click iTunes Store in the Source pane. To browse the iTunes Store, choose a music genre from the Choose Genre pop-up menu, click one of the displayed releases or songs, or click Browse in the main iTunes Store window. To browse for podcasts, click the Podcasts link in the main iTunes Store window. To search the iTunes Store, type the name of an album, song, artist, or composer in the Search iTunes Store field.
Chapter 2 Loading and Playing Music
To narrow your search, type something in the Search iTunes Store field, press Return or Enter on your keyboard, and then click items in the Search Bar. For example, to narrow your search to song titles and albums, click MUSIC. To search for a combination of items, click Power Search in the iTunes Store window. To return to the main page of the iTunes Store, click the Home button in the top-left corner of the main iTunes Store window. To buy a song, album, or audiobook: 1 Click iTunes Store in the Source pane, and then find the item you want to buy. You can double-click a song or other item to listen to a portion of it and make sure its what you want. 2 Click Buy Song, Buy Album, or Buy Book. The item is downloaded to your computer and charged to the credit card listed in your Apple or AOL account. To download or subscribe to a podcast: 1 Click iTunes Store in the Source pane. 2 Click the Podcasts link on the left side of the main page in the iTunes Store. 3 Browse for the podcast you want to download. To download a single podcast episode, click the Get Episode button next to the episode. To subscribe to a podcast, click the Subscribe button next to the podcast graphic. iTunes downloads the most recent episode. As new episodes become available, they are automatically downloaded to iTunes when you connect to the Internet.

You can make as many playlists as you like using any of the songs in your iTunes library. Adding a song to a playlist or later removing it doesnt remove it from your iTunes library. To make a playlist in iTunes: 1 Click the Add () button or choose File > New Playlist. 2 Type a name for the playlist. 3 Click Music in the LIBRARY list, and then drag a song or other item to the playlist. To select multiple songs, hold down the Shift key or the Command (x) key on a Mac, or the Shift key or the Control key on a Windows PC, as you click each song. To make a Smart Playlist: m Choose File > New Smart Playlist and define the rules for your playlist.
Loading Music onto iPod shuffle
After your music is imported and organized in iTunes, you can easily load it onto iPod shuffle.
You set how music is loaded from iTunes onto iPod shuffle by connecting iPod shuffle to your computer, selecting iPod shuffle in the Source pane, and configuring options at the bottom of the Contents pane. Additional options for loading music and using iPod shuffle appear in the Settings pane.

Autofilling iPod shuffle

iTunes can automatically load a selection of your songs onto iPod shuffle with the click of a button. You can choose your entire library or a specific playlist to gets songs from, and set other options for Autofill. To autofill music onto iPod shuffle: 1 Connect iPod shuffle to your computer. 2 Select iPod shuffle from the list of devices in the Source pane. 3 Click the Contents tab.
4 Choose the playlist you want to autofill from using the pop-up menu. To autofill music from your entire library, choose Music. 5 Select which of the following options you want: Choose items randomly: iTunes shuffles the order of songs as it loads them onto iPod shuffle. If this option is not selected, iTunes downloads songs in the order they appear in your library or selected playlist. Choose higher rated items more often: iTunes autofills the songs you listen to most. Replace all items when Autofilling: iTunes replaces the songs on iPod shuffle with the new songs youve chosen. If this option is not selected, songs youve already loaded onto iPod shuffle remain and iTunes selects more songs to fill the available space. 6 Click Autofill. While music is being loaded from iTunes onto iPod shuffle, the iTunes status window shows the progress. When the autofill is done, a message in iTunes says iPod update is complete. Limiting Autofill to Items Checked in Your iTunes Library You can set iTunes to autofill only items that are checked in your iTunes library. Items that youve deselected will be ignored. To limit autofill to checked items: 1 Connect iPod shuffle to your computer. 2 When iPod shuffle appears in the iTunes window, select it. 3 Click the Settings tab. 4 Select Only update checked songs. 5 Click Apply.

Fitting More Songs onto iPod shuffle
If youve imported songs into iTunes at higher bit-rate formats, such as AIFF, you can set iTunes to automatically convert songs to 128 kbps AAC files as they are loaded onto iPod shuffle. This does not affect the quality or size of the songs in iTunes. Note: Songs in formats not supported by iPod shuffle, such as Apple Lossless, must be converted if you want to load them onto iPod shuffle. For more information about formats supported by iPod shuffle, see If you cant load a song or other item onto iPod shuffle on page 24. To convert higher bit rate songs to AAC files: 1 Connect iPod shuffle to your computer. 2 In iTunes, select iPod shuffle in the Source pane. 3 Click the Settings tab. 4 Select Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC. 5 Click Apply.

To set iPod shuffle to play songs in order: m Slide the shuffle switch to repeat (). To return to the first song, press Play/Pause () three times quickly.
Setting Songs to Play at the Same Volume Level
The loudness of songs and other audio may vary depending on how the audio was recorded or encoded. iTunes can automatically adjust the volume of songs, so they play at the same relative volume level. You can set iPod shuffle to use the iTunes volume settings.
To set iTunes to play songs at the same sound level: 1 In iTunes, choose iTunes > Preferences if you are using a Mac, or choose Edit > Preferences if you are using a Windows PC. 2 Click Playback and select Sound Check. To set iPod shuffle to use the iTunes volume settings: 1 Connect iPod shuffle to your computer. 2 In iTunes, select iPod shuffle in the Source pane. 3 Click the Settings tab. 4 Select Enable Sound Check. 5 Click Apply. Important: If you have not turned on Sound Check in iTunes, setting it on iPod shuffle has no effect.

Setting a Volume Limit

You can set a limit for the volume on iPod shuffle. You can also set a password in iTunes to prevent this setting from being changed by someone else. If youve set a volume limit on iPod shuffle, the status light blinks orange three times if you try to increase the volume beyond the limit. To set a volume limit for iPod shuffle: 1 Set iPod shuffle to the desired maximum volume. 2 Connect iPod shuffle to your computer. 3 In iTunes, select iPod shuffle in the Source pane. 4 Click the Settings tab. 5 Select Limit maximum volume. 6 Drag the slider to the desired maximum volume. The initial slider setting shows the volume the iPod shuffle was set to when you selected the Limit maximum volume checkbox. 7 To require a password to change this setting, click the lock and enter a password. If you set a password, you must enter it before you can change or remove the volume limit. Note: The volume level may vary if you use different earphones or headphones.

If iPod shuffle isnt playing music Make sure the earphone or headphone connector is pushed in all the way. Make sure the volume is adjusted properly. A volume limit might be set. See Setting a Volume Limit on page 17. iPod shuffle might be paused. Try pressing Play/Pause (). If you connect iPod shuffle to your computer and nothing happens Connect iPod shuffle to a high-power USB port on your computer. iPod shuffle may need to be recharged. Make sure you have installed the latest iTunes software from www.apple.com/ipod/start. Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer. Make sure iPod shuffle is firmly seated in the dock. Make sure the USB connector is oriented correctly. It can be inserted only one way. iPod shuffle might need to be reset. Turn iPod shuffle off, wait five seconds, and then turn it back on again. If there is no status light (or the status light is dimmed) and iPod shuffle doesnt appear in iTunes or the Finder, the battery may be completely discharged. Let iPod shuffle charge for several minutes to see if it comes back to life. Make sure you have the required computer and software. See If you want to doublecheck the system requirements on page 25. Try restarting your computer. If none of the previous suggestions solves the problem, you might need to restore iPod software. See Updating and Restoring iPod shuffle Software on page 26. If restoring iPod shuffle doesnt solve the problem, iPod shuffle may need to be repaired. You can arrange for service on the iPod shuffle Service & Support website at www.apple.com/support/ipodshuffle/service. If songs load slowly Connect iPod shuffle to a USB 2.0 port on your computer for fast loading speeds. USB 2.0 loads songs and data faster than USB 1.1. If you cant load a song or other item onto iPod shuffle The song might have been encoded in a format that iPod shuffle doesnt support. The following audio file formats are supported by iPod shuffle. These include formats for audiobooks and podcasts: AAC (M4A, M4B, M4P) (up to 320 kbps) MP3 (up to 320 kbps) MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR) WAV AA (audible.com spoken word, formats 2, 3, and 4) AIFF
24 Chapter 5 Tips and Troubleshooting

A song encoded using Apple Lossless format has full CD-quality sound, but takes up only about half as much space as a song encoded using AIFF or WAV format. The same song encoded in AAC or MP3 format takes up even less space. When you import music from a CD using iTunes, it is converted to AAC format by default. You can have iPod shuffle automatically convert files encoded at higher bit rates (such as Apple Lossless) to 128 kbps AAC files as they are loaded onto iPod shuffle. See Fitting More Songs onto iPod shuffle on page 15. Using iTunes for Windows, you can convert nonprotected WMA files to AAC or MP3 format. This can be useful if you have a collection of music encoded in WMA format. iPod shuffle does not support Apple Lossless, WMA, MPEG Layer 1, MPEG Layer 2 audio files, or audible.com format 1. If you have a song in iTunes that isnt supported by iPod shuffle, you can convert it to a format iPod shuffle supports. For more information, see iTunes Help. If the chapters in an audiobook play out of order Make sure the shuffle switch on iPod shuffle is set to repeat () so that the chapters of the audiobook play in order. If the chapters were added to iPod shuffle out of order, connect iPod shuffle to your computer and rearrange the tracks using iTunes. See Arranging the Order of Songs on iPod shuffle on page 15. If you want to double-check the system requirements To use iPod shuffle, you must have: One of the following computer configurations: A Macintosh with a USB port (USB 2.0 recommended) A Windows PC with a USB port or a USB card installed (USB 2.0 recommended) One of the following operating systems: Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or later, or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later Internet access (a broadband connection is recommended) iTunes 7.0.2 or later (iTunes can be downloaded from www.apple.com/ipod/start) If your Windows PC doesnt have a high-power USB port, you can purchase and install a USB 2.0 card. For information, go to www.apple.com/ipodstore.

Chapter 5 Tips and Troubleshooting
If you want to use iPod shuffle with a Mac and a Windows PC Whenever you sync iPod shuffle with a different iTunes library, you must erase the music already on iPod shuffle, regardless of the operating system. When you connect iPod shuffle to a different computer or user account, a message asks if you want to erase iPod shuffle and sync to the new iTunes library. However, you can use iPod shuffle as an external disk with both Macintosh computers and PCs, allowing you to transfer files from one operating system to the other. See Chapter 3, Storing Files on iPod shuffle, on page 19.

Connecting iPod nano

To connect iPod nano to your computer: m Plug the included iPod Dock Connector to USB 2.0 Cable into a high-power USB port on your computer (a USB 2.0 port is recommended), and then connect the other end to iPod nano. If you have an iPod nano Dock, you can connect the cable to a high-power USB port on your computer, connect the other end to the Dock, and then put iPod nano in the Dock. Note: The USB port on your keyboard doesnt provide enough power. You must connect iPod nano to a USB port on your computer.
By default, iTunes syncs songs on iPod nano automatically when you connect it to your computer. When iTunes is finished, you can disconnect iPod nano.
If you connect iPod nano to a different computer and it is set to sync music automatically, iTunes prompts you before loading any music. If you click Yes, the songs and other audio files already on iPod nano will be erased and replaced with the songs and other audio files on the computer iPod nano is connected to. For more information about loading music onto iPod nano and using iPod nano with more than one computer, see Chapter 2, Music Features, on page 15. Note: You can load songs while your battery is charging.

Disconnecting iPod nano

Its important not to disconnect iPod nano from your computer while music is being loaded. You can easily see if its OK to disconnect iPod nano by looking at the iPod nano screen. Important: Dont disconnect iPod nano if you see the Do not disconnect message. You could damage files on iPod nano. If you see this message, you must eject iPod nano before disconnecting it.
If you see the main menu or a large battery icon, you can disconnect iPod nano.
Important: If you see this message, you must eject iPod nano before disconnecting it.

About iTunes

iTunes is the software application you use with iPod nano. iTunes can sync music, audiobooks, podcasts, and more with iPod nano. When you connect iPod nano to your computer, iTunes opens automatically. This guide explains how to use iTunes to download songs and other audio to your computer, create personal compilations of your favorite songs (called playlists), load them onto iPod nano, and adjust iPod nano settings.
iTunes also has many other features. You can make your own CDs that play in standard CD players (if your computer has a CD-recordable drive); listen to streaming Internet radio; watch videos and TV shows; rate songs according to preference; and much more. For information about using these iTunes features, open iTunes and choose Help > iTunes Help.
Importing Music into Your Computer
To listen to music on iPod nano, you first need to get that music into iTunes on your computer.
There are three ways to get music and other audio into iTunes: Buy music and audiobooks or download podcasts online from the iTunes Store. Import music from audio CDs. Add music and other audio thats already on your computer to the iTunes library.

Chapter 2 Music Features

Purchasing Songs and Downloading Podcasts Using the iTunes Store
To search the iTunes Store, type the name of an album, song, artist, or composer in the search field. To narrow your search, type something in the search field, press Return or Enter on your keyboard, and then press buttons in the Search Bar. For example, to narrow your search to song titles and albums, press the Music button.

Syncing Music Automatically
By default, iPod nano is set to sync all songs and playlists when you connect it to your computer. This is the simplest way to load music onto iPod nano. You just connect iPod nano to your computer, let it add songs, audiobooks, and other items automatically, and then disconnect it and go. If you added any songs to iTunes since the last time you connected iPod nano, they are added to iPod nano. If you deleted songs from iTunes, they are deleted from iPod nano. To sync music to iPod nano: m Simply connect iPod nano to your computer. If iPod nano is set to sync automatically, the update begins. Important: The first time you connect iPod nano to a different computer and have the automatic sync option set, a message asks if you want to update songs automatically. If you accept, all songs, audiobooks, and other items are deleted from iPod nano and replaced with the songs and other items from that computer. If you dont accept, you can still load songs onto iPod nano manually without deleting any of the songs already on iPod nano. iTunes includes a feature to sync purchased items from iPod nano to another computer. For more information, see iTunes Help. While music is being synced from your computer to iPod nano, the iTunes status window shows progress, and the iPod nano icon in the Source pane flashes red. When the update is done, a message in iTunes says iPod update is complete. If you set iTunes to manage music manually, you can reset it later to sync automatically. If you set iTunes to sync automatically after youve been manually managing iPod nano, you lose any items on iPod nano that are not part of your library. To reset iTunes to sync all music automatically on iPod nano: 1 Open iTunes and select iPod nano in the Source pane. 2 Click the Music tab. 3 Select Sync music and then click All songs and playlists. 4 Click Apply. Note: If Only sync checked items is selected in the Summary pane, iTunes syncs only items that are checked in your libraries.
Syncing Music From Selected Playlists to iPod nano
Setting iTunes to sync selected playlists to iPod nano is useful if the music in your music library doesnt fit on iPod nano. Only the music in the playlists you select is synced to iPod nano. To set iTunes to sync music from selected playlists to iPod nano: 1 Open iTunes and select iPod nano in the Source pane. 2 Click the Music tab. 3 Select Sync music and then click Selected playlists. 4 Select the playlists you want. 5 Click Apply. Note: If Only sync checked items is selected in the Summary pane, iTunes syncs only items that are checked in your libraries.
Managing iPod nano Manually
Setting iTunes to let you manage iPod nano manually gives you the most flexibility for managing music on iPod nano. You can add and remove songs and other items individually. You can also load songs from multiple computers onto iPod nano without removing songs already on iPod nano. To set iTunes to let you manage music on iPod nano manually: 1 Open iTunes and select iPod nano in the Source pane. 2 Click the Summary tab. 3 In the Options section, select Manually manage music. 4 Click Apply. Note: When you manage songs yourself, you must always eject iPod nano from iTunes before you can disconnect it. To add a song or other item to iPod nano: 1 In the iTunes Source pane, click Music or another Library item. 2 Drag a song or other item to the iPod nano in the Source pane. To remove a song or other item from iPod nano: 1 In iTunes, select iPod nano in the Source pane. 2 Select a song or other item on iPod nano and press the Delete or Backspace key on your keyboard. If you manually remove a song or other item from iPod nano, it is not deleted from your iTunes library.

To make a new playlist on iPod nano: 1 In iTunes, select iPod nano in the Source pane, and then click the Add (+) button or choose File > New Playlist. 2 Type a name for the playlist. 3 Click an item, such as Music, in the Library list, and then drag songs or other items to the playlist. To add songs to or remove songs from a playlist on iPod nano: m Drag a song to a playlist on iPod nano to add the song. Select a song in a playlist and press the Delete key on your keyboard to remove the song.
Loading Podcasts onto iPod nano
The settings for loading podcasts onto iPod nano are unrelated to the settings for loading songs. Podcast update settings dont affect song update settings, and vice versa. You can set iTunes to automatically sync all podcasts or selected podcasts, and all episodes, or a number of recent or unplayed episodes. Or you can load podcasts onto iPod nano manually. To set iTunes to sync podcasts to iPod nano automatically: 1 Select iPod nano in the iTunes Source pane, and click the Podcasts tab. 2 In the Podcasts pane, select Sync <option> podcast episodes and choose an option from the Sync pop-up menu. 3 Click All podcasts or Selected podcasts. If you click Selected podcasts, also select the podcast titles you want to sync automatically. 4 Click Apply. When you set iTunes to sync iPod nano podcasts automatically, iPod nano is updated each time you connect it to your computer. To set iTunes to let you manually manage podcasts: 1 In iTunes, select iPod nano in the Source pane, and click the Summary tab. 2 Select Manually manage music and click Apply. 3 In the Source pane, select the Podcasts library and drag the podcasts you want to iPod nano.

If you stop listening to a podcast and go back to it later, the podcast begins playing from where you left off. To listen to a podcast: 1 Choose Music > Podcasts, and then choose a show. Shows appear in reverse chronological order so that you can listen to the most recent one first. You see a blue dot next to shows and episodes you havent listened to yet. 2 Choose an episode to play it. The Now Playing screen displays the show, episode, and date information, along with elapsed and remaining time. Press the Center button to see more information about the podcast. If the podcast includes artwork, you also see a picture. Podcast artwork can change during an episode, so you might see several pictures during the podcast.

Chapter 5 Tips and Troubleshooting
iPod nano might need to be reset (see page 45). If youre connecting iPod nano to a portable or laptop computer using the iPod Dock Connector to USB 2.0 Cable, connect the computer to a power outlet before connecting iPod nano. Make sure you have the required computer and software. See If you want to doublecheck the system requirements on page 48. Check the cable connections. Unplug the cable at both ends and make sure no foreign objects are in the USB ports. Then plug the cable back in securely. Make sure the connectors on the cables are oriented correctly. They can be inserted only one way. Try restarting your computer. If none of the previous suggestions solves your problem, you might need to restore iPod software. See Updating and Restoring iPod nano Software on page 50. If iPod nano displays a Use iTunes to restore message Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer (download it from www.apple.com/ipod/start). Connect iPod nano to your computer. When iTunes opens, follow the onscreen prompts to restore iPod nano. If restoring iPod nano doesnt solve the problem, iPod nano may need to be repaired. You can arrange for service at the iPod Service & Support website: www.apple.com/support/ipodnano/service If you cant load a song or other item onto iPod nano The song might have been encoded in a format that iPod nano doesnt support. The following audio file formats are supported by iPod nano. These include formats for audiobooks and podcasting: AAC (M4A, M4B, M4P, up to 320 Kbps) Apple Lossless (a high-quality compressed format) MP3 (up to 320 Kbps) MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR) WAV AA (audible.com spoken word, formats 2, 3, and 4) AIFF A song encoded using Apple Lossless format has full CD-quality sound, but takes up only about half as much space as a song encoded using AIFF or WAV format. The same song encoded in AAC or MP3 format takes up even less space. When you import music from a CD using iTunes, it is converted to AAC format by default.
Using iTunes for Windows, you can convert nonprotected WMA files to AAC or MP3 format. This can be useful if you have a library of music encoded in WMA format. iPod nano does not support WMA, MPEG Layer 1, MPEG Layer 2 audio files, or audible.com format 1. If you have a song in iTunes that isnt supported by iPod nano, you can convert it to a format iPod nano supports. For more information, see iTunes Help. If you accidentally set iPod nano to use a language you dont understand You can reset the language. 1 Press and hold Menu until the main menu appears. 2 Choose the fifth menu item (Settings). 3 Choose the last menu item (Reset All Settings). 4 Choose the second menu item (Reset) and select a language. Other iPod nano settings, such as song repeat, are also reset. Note: If you added or removed items from the iPod nano main menu (see Adding or Removing Items from the Main Menu on page 9), the Settings menu item might be in a different place. If you cant find the Reset All Settings menu item, you can restore iPod nano to its original state and choose a language you understand. See Updating and Restoring iPod nano Software on page 50. If you connect iPod nano to a camera connector and nothing happens You must first import photos from your camera to your computer and then load the photos onto iPod nano. You cant connect a camera directly to iPod nano to load photos. Some other third-party accessories cannot connect directly to iPod nano. See www.apple.com/support/ipod for more information. If you want to double-check the system requirements To use iPod nano, you must have: One of the following computer configurations: A Macintosh with a USB port (USB 2.0 recommended) A Windows PC with a USB port or a USB card installed (USB 2.0 recommended) One of the following operating systems: Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or later, or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later iTunes 7 or later (iTunes can be downloaded from www.apple.com/ipod/start)

In fact, iPod shuffle just may be the biggest thing in small. Clip it to your coin pocket. Clip it to your bag. No matter where you clip your skip-free iPod shuffle, you'll have instant access to music. And iPod shuffle's anodized aluminum enclosure goes with absolutely everything. Put it on, turn it up, and turn some heads. Got more songs in your iTunes library? No problem. Let iTunes autofill your iPod shuffle and get a new musical experience every time. Pop follows jazz. Rock follows rap. iPod shuffle loves to improvise. Take the Shuffle switch, for instance. Even if you've synced a particular playlist, you can shuffle songs with a flick.
