"PS3 blows xbox360 alway. It does it all=blueray movies, wifi, surf the web, free PSN, download music, movies, and games. "I just got the PS3 for christmas 2009 and I absolutely love it. I wish I got the PS3 first or else I would have never wasted my money on a 360.

Network Setup

Network Setup for PLAYSTATION3 System Wired or Wireless Cable Connection (Using a Router)

To connect your PLAYSTATION3 system to the Internet using Cable and a router, follow the instructions below. This is a companion guide to the PS3 system Network Setup online interactive tutorial. 1 Make sure that your PS3 system is turned off and unplugged from the wall. 2 Position your PS3 system so you can clearly see the back panel connections. 3 Power down your cable modem at this time. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) if you 4 Click on the router. This guide covers cable connections to the PS3 system using a router.
If you would like to connect without using a router, download the appropriate guide from http://us.playstation.com/support need assistance in setting up or using your cable modem. (Cable modem is not included with PS3 system).
If you need instructions for DSL or for a cable connection without a router, please visit http://us.playstation.com/support
5 Choose how you will connect from the router to your PS3 system: Wired or Wireless.
Not all modems have wireless capability. If youre not sure, try the instructions below for a wired connection.
Wired - Proceed to Step 6 Wireless - Skip to Step To make a wired connection from the cable modem to the router and then to your your PS3 system, you will need two Ethernet cables. Each end of these cables should look like the image shown here. >>>
Unlike a phone cord, Ethernet cables: -Areusuallyrounded(notflat) - Have eight tiny slots on each end (not four) - May have the words CAT 5 on the cable

7 Look at the back of your modem for a connection port that looks like the image shown here. >>> Connect one end of an Ethernet cable into this port. 8 On the back of the router, look for a set of connection ports like the image shown here. >>> Typically, you will see a port on one end labeled 0 (zero), WAN or WLAN. Insert the remaining end of the Ethernet cable coming from the modem into this port. The remaining ports are usually labeled 1 through 4. Connect one end of the second Ethernet cable into an available port. 9 On the back of your PS3 there is a similar port that looks like the image shown here. >>> Insert the other end of the Ethernet cable into this port.
10 Locate the power cord and insert the end shown here >>> into the PS3 system. 11 Once everything is hooked up, you can plug the other end of the power cord into the wall. WARNING: Do not plug PS3 into a power source until all other connections are complete!
12 Make sure that your modem is plugged in and has been turned on for at least two minutes. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) if you need assistance
in setting up or using your modem.
Then,fliptheMain Power Switch located on the back panel of your PS3 system to the ON position. The ON position is indicated by a bar on the switch.
The power light will change from red to green and your PS3 system will beep. When there is a disc inside, you will also see a blue light. Now youre ready toconfigureyour Network Settings. Please visit :
