The DC Straight Advantage The following are the areas where DC Straight technology has been used to improve sound quality. Improved Pre-Drive Stage : This is where the input signal is amplified in preparation for the final output stage. Its very important that distortion and noise are minimized in this stage to prevent amplification by the final output stage. Direct-Coupling in the pre-drive stage reduces phase shift and allows more accurate passage of audio signals. In addition, single case dual FET input transistors incorporated in the pre-driver, exhibit uniform thermal characteristics, reduce odd harmonic distortion, increase input impedance, and require less traces on the circuit board. Each individual pre-driver section has an identical layout pattern to reduce the scattering of components, and to maintain uniformity between channels.
Built in Crossover In many multi amp, or multi speaker audio systems, a frequency divider is used to direct power to the different sets of speakers. This is the function of a crossover. Crossovers are used to take out the high frequencies on subwoofers (Low Pass), or remove the bass from midhigh speakers (High-Pass). In a system that consists of a subwoofer and some mid/high speakers, there will be overlapping frequencies that both sets of speakers will be playing together. By using a crossover to remove these overlapping frequencies from each speaker, the amplifier becomes more efficient, the entire system becomes more linear and there is less strain on smaller speakers.

1. Check the wire size. Notes: Recommended wire size for this unit is AWG6 AWG18. If the wire gauge used is unknown, ask your dealer.
2. Remove the insulation from the ends of the wire leads by about 7 10mm (9/32" 3/8"). (Fig. A) Notes: If length of the exposed wire is too short, a poor connection may occur causing operation failure or sound interruption. On the other hand, if the length is too long, an electrical short-circuit may occur.
3. Remove the screw attached to the terminal. Insert the exposed wire end into the lead terminal. Tighten the hex screw with the hex wrench, to fix the lead. (Fig. B) Before making this connection, use insulated shrink tubing to cover any exposed wire extending beyond the terminal. Notes: Use only the hex screws supplied. For the safety, always connect the battery leads last. To prevent disconnection of the leads or dropping of the unit, do not use the cabling to carry the unit.

CONNECTIONS CHECK LISTED

Please check your head unit for the conditions listed below: a. The head unit does not have a remote turn-on or power antenna lead. b. The head unit's power antenna lead is activated only when the radio is on (turns off in the tape or CD Mode). c. The head unit's power antenna lead is logic level output (+) 5V, negative trigger (grounding type), or cannot sustain (+) 12V when connected to other equipment in addition to the vehicle's power antenna. If any of the above conditions exist, the remote turn-on lead of your MRV-F357/MRV-F307/MRV-T707/MRVT407 must be connected to a switched power source (ignition) in the vehicle. Be sure to use a 3A fuse as close as possible to this ignition tap. Using this connection method, the MRV-F357/MRV-F307/MRVT707/MRV-T407 will turn on and stay on as long as the ignition switch is on.

If this is objectionable, a SPST (Single Pole, Single Throw) switch, in addition to the 3A fuse mentioned above, may be installed in-line on the MRV-F357/MRVF307/MRV-T707/MRV-T407 turn-on lead. This switch will then be used to turn on (and off) the MRV-F357/ MRV-F307/MRV-T707/MRV-T407. Therefore, the switch should be mounted so that is accessible by the driver. Make sure the switch is turned off when the vehicle is not running. Otherwise, the amplifier will remain on and drain the battery.
