Inspection and adjustment
AC 3/6 PA IN
1.2.1 Fan and temperature indicator The fan shall operate when the two jumper wires inside the frame marked FAN-C inside sheet IN are shorted. Next, the temperature indicator shall come on when the two jumper wires inside the frame marked TM-C are shorted. (Refer to the figure to the right for FAN-C, TM-C.)
TM-C FAN-C
1.2.2 Power on muting time At t=2.seconds after the power switch is turned on, the muting shall be cancelled and the protection indicator shall go off. 1.2.3 Idling current Ground the input terminal and adjust VR101 (L ch) and VR102 (R ch) so that the CN108 (L ch) and CN107 (R ch) No. 1 and 2 terminals show DC voltage of Vb=0.5 0.1 mV. Once all inspections have been completed, re-inspect Vb and adjust so that it is Vb=0.5 0.1 mV. 1.2.4 Output terminal DC voltage Ground the input terminal and measure the Vdc (direct current voltage) of the output terminal. It shall be Vdc=mV. 1.2.5 Gain An output voltage of +24.0 0.5 dBu shall be attained when 1 kHz, -10.0 dBu sine wave is input to the input terminal. This inspection shall also be performed in the PARALLEL mode. 1.2.6 Frequency characteristics * YAMAHA SPEAKER PROCESSING OFF: Using 1 kHz as a standard for the output voltage, the output voltage shall be within -0.5 0.5 dB at 20 kHz when 20 Hz, 1 kHz, 20 kHz, -10 B dBu sine waves are input to the input terminal. * YAMAHA SPEAKER PROCESSING ON: Using 1 kHz as a standard for the output voltage, with the Yamaha speaker processing off, the output voltage shall be within + 6.5 1.5 dB when a 70 Hz, -10 dBu sine wave is input to the input terminal. 1.2.7 Total harmonic distortion ratio characteristics The total harmonic distortion ration shall be THD=1 % or less when a 1 kHz high definition sine wave is input to the input terminal and the rated output of 650 w + 650 w / 4 ohm (36.4 dBu/ch) has been attained. This inspection shall be completed within 30 seconds. 1.2.8 Channel separation load resistance 8 When the input terminal for one of the channels has attained a 1kHz, -5dBu sine wave has and that input terminal is grounded by the introduction of 600 resistance, the measured output voltage of the other channel shall by -70 dB or less, using a output voltage with (0 dB) as the reference level. 1.2.9 Output noise level Measure the noise level at the output terminal when the input attenuator has been set to MAX and a input terminal has been grounded by the introduction of a 600 resistance. It shall be -67 dBu or less. Next, set the input attenuator to MIN and measure. It shall be -70 dBu or less.
Process after completion of inspection
Close up the input attenuator in a half-clockwise direction. Set YAMAHA SPEAKER PROCESSING to on. Set the mode switch to STEREO.
Others
A DIN audio filter shall be used for the measurement of the noise level. 0 dBu=0.775 V

The CP2000 power amplifier is designed to deliver superior audio quality and high power output with energy efficient operation. It is also designed to provide seamless operation with any of our popular Club IV series loudspeakers. Delivering an abundant 2000 watts of power into 4 ohms when bridged, the amplifier operates cool and efficiently with our exclusive EEEngine technology. Yamaha Speaker Processing, another Yamaha exclusive, is also provided for enhanced performance when the CP2000 is used in combination with S115IV or S112IV loudspeakers from our popular Club IV Series loudspeaker systems.
High Power Output, Superior Audio Quality
When bridged, the CP2000 delivers a total of 2000 watts of power into a 4-ohm load. Stereo power is rated at 1000 watts into 2-ohms, 650 watts into 4 ohms, and 450 watts into 8 ohms per channel. It is also designed to deliver that power with low noise and low distortion making it an excellent selection for any professional sound reinforcement application.
Match It With Our Club IV Series Speakers
Of course the CP2000 can be used in combination with any sound reinforcement speaker system, but it will deliver superior audio performance when matched with our popular Club IV Series loudspeakers. Greatest performance comes when our Yamaha Speaker Processing is used in conjunction with our Club S115IV and S112IV speakers.
Yamaha Speaker Processing
The S115IV and S112IV speaker systems from our popular Club IV Series loudspeakers are great sounding speakers. But with our exclusive Yamaha Speaker Processing, theyll sound even greater. Connect either model to the CP2000, activate the specially designed circuit, and the speakers will benefit with enhanced lowend and smoother high frequency performance.
Power Amplifier
Three Output Modes for Flexible Operation
With three output modes you have the option of running the power amp in normal stereo, parallel or bridged mono modes. Stereo mode routes separate input signals to each channel independently, parallel mode feeds a single input signal to both channels yet maintains independent L/R signal control and bridged mono mode supplies extra high output from a single input to mono output.
the amplifiers ability to respond accurately to fast, high level transients without distortion. Another benefit is cooler operating temperatures, which improves the overall reliability of the amplifier.
Yamahas Exclusive EEEngine Technology
Our EEEngine (Energy Efficient Engine) reduces AC power requirements and heat loss while maintaining output power and sound quality. When power requirements are low, a highefficiency current buffer transparently switches the input power on and off as needed. As power requirements increase, an Power Consumption Comparison independently responding (f: 1kHz, R : 4 ) auxiliary power line supplies additional power as required. 150 Output isnt compromised Voltage Switching Conventional because the auxiliary power Amplifier Amplifier line is driven by the power supply voltage, which can EEEngine maintain maximum output to Technology 100 the speaker load. EEEngine Heat technology makes more Dissipation Loss efficient use of AC power and outperforms other efficiencyenhancing designs like drive 50 Output Power voltage switching, pulse-width modulation and switching Ideal Ratio series regulators, without compromising sound quality.
Other Features
s Weighting in at just 14 kilograms the CP2000 is light in weight. That can make a difference when you have to carry and setup equipment on a regular basis. s Power on/off muting, DC detection, thermal protection and a PC limiter provide comprehensive protection for the power amplifier and your speakers. s Output jacks consist of phone jacks for easy connection with Club IV series speakers and 5-way binding posts. s Variable speed fan and large Club Series Style grill for efficient cooling. s A large toroidal transformer is utilized for efficient power and quiet operation.
Values shown are for converted chip levels to within 100 w based on actual measurement data for each amplifier.
MOSFET and EEEngine Technology
The CP2000 utilizes a MOSFET for increased power handling and superior audio performance. Our EEEngine keeps the amplifier running efficiently by allowing the amplifier to produce the same amount of output power using half the electrical power normally required. Such efficiency also increases
