E-Ten Releases the VGA Glofiish X650 Pocket PC

Glofiish X650, the latest Pocket PC from E-TEN Information System, was officially announced and is ready to hit the market from February 2008. The new handset is a GSM/EDGE quad band (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) device, being an improved version of the Glofiish X600 model, launched at the end of 2007. It comes in the same size as its predecessor, 107 x 58 x 14.7 millimeters, and weighs 139 grams. Also, the X650 has the same design as the X600 and packs a similar wide 2.8 inch display, with the difference that X650's screen has a higher 640480 resolution, hence bringing the benefits of a VGA display in a rich-featured compact handset. The VGA resolution, four times higher than a normal Pocket PC one, offers sharper images and a better proportion of documents, web pages and maps, and should become a standard for the future handsets. E-Ten Glofiish X650 is powered by a Samsung SC3 processor at 500 MHz and runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional, bringing all the Mobile Office applications users may need, as well as Windows Live, Backup Utility, Mobile Shell and Namecard Manager. The handset provides excellent connectivity, featuring GPRS, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Furthermore, it has a built-in 2 Megapixel camera with Auto focus, enough to take photos at a quality above the average. Other nice specifications that the device offers include FM Tuner, FM Transmitter (depending on regional availability), microSD (TransFlash) card support for more memory, headset, leather case and USB sync cable. Glofiish X650 has an affordable (unknown yet) price, and it will be available world-wide in two colors, purple and black. It has already been spotted on the FCC website in December 2007, so the US will probably be the first market to receive this good-looking handset.
