| Good unit, with some limitations Principally, I needed a good turntable, so I could transfer my old LPs to my computer for digitalization. TEAC LP-U200 I received the TEAC LP-U200 a couple of weeks ago. I like the product overall. | |

Quick Start Recording Guide
This Guide provides you with the simplest way to use this equipment for recording. Of course, we strongly suggest that you consult the Owner's Manual for complete details and important safety information.

From CD
Press the OPEN/CLOSE button (L) to open the tray
Place a disc on the tray with the printed label face up.
Press the OPEN/CLOSE button (L) to close the tray.
Press the RECORD button (K).
REC and USB or SD indicator blinks. The red indicator on the RECORD button blinks.
Select the recording device.
Each time the MENU button is pressed, the recording device is changed USB or SD.
Press the STANDBY/ ON switch to turn the unit on.
Turn the FUNCTION/REC LEVEL/SELECT knob to select CD.
Connect a USB memory stick or SD memory card to record on.
Press the RECORD button (K ) to start recording.
Playback of CD starts automatically.
From Record
Place the record on the turntable. Before use, completely loosen the transportation screw by turning it clockwise with a coin and remove the stylus guard.
Select the proper speed.
Gently push the clamper to the right to release the tone arm. clamper
Gently lower the tone arm onto the edge of the record (or the track to be recorded).
Manual file division
It is possible to divide the recording into files while recording. While recording, press the TRACK INCREMENT button.

Moving this unit with the record or disc loaded may result in damage to this unit. If the unit is to be packed and moved a great distance, it is also advisable to tighten the turntable transport locking screw. See Page 11 for instructions.

How to remove the disc

< If you are in any doubt as to the care and handling of a CDR/CD-RW disc, read the precautions supplied with the disc, or contact the disc manufacturer directly.

< This unit can play MP3 files recorded on a CD-R, CD-RW, USB storage device or SD memory card. < File names of MP3 should be alphanumeric characters. This unit cannot display symbols and full-size or double-byte characters (such as Japanese, Chinese, etc.) correctly. Also, be sure to use the file extension (.mp3). < MP3 files are mono or stereo MPEG-1/2/2.5 Audio Layer 3 format. This unit can play MP3 files with sampling frequency 16 to 48 kHz, bit-rate320 kbps or less. < Folder name, file name and ID3 tag (title, artist and album) can be displayed up to 30 characters. < Audio encoded at 128 Kbps should sound close to regular audio CD quality. Although this player will play lower bit-rate MP3 tracks, the sound quality becomes noticeably worse at lower bit-rates.
Remote Control Unit
The provided Remote Control Unit allows the unit to be operated from a distance. Before using the remote control unit, pull out protection sheet from the battery compartment.
FUNCTION/REC LEVEL/SELECT
When operating the remote control unit, point it towards the REMOTE SENSOR on the front panel of the unit.

To attach the turntable cover
1. Slide the hinges on both sides of the rear of the turntable into the hinge fittings as far as they will go. 2. Place the turntable cover hinge fittings over the top portion of the hinges and slide the cover down into place. Troubleshooting
If you experience any problems with the unit, please take a moment to look through this chart and see if you can solve the problem yourself before you call your dealer or a TEAC service center. No power e Check the connection to the AC power source. Check and make sure the AC source is not a switched outlet and if it is, the switch is turned on. Make sure there is power to the AC outlet by plugging another item such as a lamp or fan. No sound. e Adjust the volume. The sound is noisy. e The unit is too close to a TV set or similar appliances. Relocate the unit further away from them, or turn the other appliances off. Remote control doesnt work. e Press the STANDBY/ON button of the main unit to turn it ON. e If the battery is dead, change the battery. e Use the remote control unit within the (5m) range and pointed at the front panel. e Clear obstacles that are between the remote control unit and the main unit. e If a strong light is near the unit, turn it off. The sound is noisy or strange. e If the stylus is worn-out, change the stylus. e Select the correct playback speed. Sound skips. e Place the unit on a stable surface to avoid vibration and shock. Make sure the unit is level both front to back and side to side. e Clean the surface of the record/disc. e Dont use scratched, damaged or warped records/discs.

There is no sound even if the PLAY button (y) is pressed. e Check if there are MP3 files on the USB. e Non-playable file formats (e.g MPEG 1 LAYER 2 file and WMA) cannot be played. Some unknown characters are displayed on the display panel. e This unit cannot display symbols and full-size or doublebyte characters (such as Japanese, Chinese, etc.) correctly. File name of MP3 should be alphanumeric characters. Recording is not possible. e The USB memory stick or SD memory card does not have a recordable area. Use another USB memory stick or SD memory card. e The recording level is too low. Adjust the recording level. e Slide the lock switch of the SD memory card to unlock. If normal operation cannot be obtained, unplug the power cord from the outlet and plug it again.
