Terms and Conditions Overview WHAT IDEAPAD AND LENOVO NOTEBOOK COMPUTER PROTECTION SERVICE COVERS Coverage Period: Once you successfully activate this service, the coverage period shall begin on the date whichever is later of the following (1) you receive the IdeaPad and Lenovo Notebook Computer (hereinafter named as Product) from LENOVO or LENOVO reseller; and (2) you successfully purchase this protection service and expires one (1) year after the date you receive the Product covered by this service. If you decide to purchase this protection service after you buy the Product, your Product is subject to Lenovos inspection before Lenovo agrees to provide this service to you. The term of this service may not be extended or renewed at the discretion of LENOVO. You MUST fill in the IdeaPad and Lenovo Notebook Computer Protection Service Registration Form and fax back to LENOVO or complete the online registration procedure at (URL:www.lenovo.com/hk/protection) in order to activate this service. Please retain a copy of your invoice or delivery note of your Product covered by this service and invoice of this service to establish a proof of entitlement to Service. The invoice or delivery note shall print machine type and serial number. Scope of Service: The IdeaPad and Lenovo Notebook Computer Protection service is only applied for the Product distributed and located in Hong Kong or Macau and is only available in Hong Kong and Macau. IdeaPad and Lenovo Notebook Computer Protection: Pursuant to this Agreement, Lenovo will repair or, if Lenovo decides it is necessary in its sole discretion, replace the Product if it experiences operational or structural failures resulting under normal operating conditions and handling due to liquid spills on the keyboard, unintentional drops and bumps of the Product, an electrical surge that damages the Products circuitry, or accidental damage of the integrated LCD screen (hereinafter Accidental Damage). (i) Claim of Accidental Damage In the event of any Accidental Damage occurring to the Product covered by this Agreement, which might give rise to a claim under this service you shall: Notify LENOVO within seven (7) working days by written notice Take all reasonable steps to minimize the extent of any damage. Preserve damaged parts and make them available for inspection by LENOVO. Provide all information and documentary evidence with respect to the claim as LENOVO may reasonably require. For case(s) happened in Hong Kong, bear a maximum of HK$1,200 for IdeaPad notebook Y & U series or HK$ 500 for Lenovo Netbook S-series / Lenovo IdeaPad G Series / Lenovo B450 Series as the total repair cost which includes part and labour. If the total repair cost is less than the maximum bear amount, you shall pay for the actual cost of repairing. On the other hand, if the total repair cost is equal to or more than the maximum bear amount, you only need to pay the maximum bear amount for the repairing. For case(s) happened in Macau, bear a maximum of MOP 1,238 for IdeaPad notebook Y & U series or MOP 516 for Lenovo Netbook S-series / Lenovo IdeaPad G Series / Lenovo B450 Series as the total repair cost which includes part and labour. If the total repair cost is less than the maximum bear amount, you shall pay for the actual cost of repairing. On the other hand, if the total

If we repair your Product, you understand and agree that we may replace original parts with parts from the original manufacturer, or a different one. Replacement parts of Product may not be new, but will be in good working order and at least functionally equivalent to the item replaced. When a Product or its parts are replaced, each replaced item becomes Lenovo property and the replacement becomes yours. Only preload software will be installed back on the replacement. You warrant that the Product is free from any legal or other obligations or restrictions that prevent its repair/replacement. We are only responsible for loss of, or damage to, your Product while it is 1) in our possession or 2) in transit in those cases where we are responsible for the transportation charges. When You request Service for a Product, You represent to us that you either own the Product or are authorized by the Products owner to have the Service performed on the Product. You agree to follow the instructions we provide and where applicable, before Service is provided: 1) follow the problem determination, problem analysis, and Service request procedures that Lenovo provides; and 2) secure all programs, data, and funds contained in a Product. You agree 1) that you are responsible for the results obtained from the Service; and 2) to provide us with sufficient, free, and safe access to your facilities for us to fulfill our obligations. This Service is not a warranty. The Product you purchase from us may also come with a limited warranty from LENOVO or third party manufacturers of Products we distribute. Please consult our limited warranty statements for your rights and remedies under those limited warranties. EXCLUSION OF LIABILITIES THIS SERVICE DOES NOT COVER THE FOLLOWING: UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION OF A MACHINE; ANY SOFTWARE PROGRAMS, WHETHER PROVIDED WITH THE PRODUCT, OR INSTALLED SUBSEQUENTLY; EXTERNAL PERIPHERALS AND ACCESSORIES (E.G., EXTERNAL KEYBOARDS, EXTERNAL MICE, PRINTERS, SCANNERS, EXTERNAL DRIVES, TAPE BACK UP SYSTEMS) EVEN IF THESE ARE SOLD BY LENOVO. THIRD PARTY PRODUCTS (THOSE NOT BEARING THE LENOVO LOGO) EVEN IF THESE ARE SOLD BY LENOVO. PARTS INTENDED TO BE REPLACED OR CONSUMED(E.G., BATTERIES, ) OR COSMETIC DAMAGE; DAMAGE OR ALTERATION FROM INTENTIONAL MISUSE, MODIFICATION, AND UNSUITABLE PHYSICAL OR OPERATING ENVIRONMENT, IMPROPER MAINTENANCE BY ANYONE OTHER THAN US OR OUR AUTHORIZED SERVICE PROVIDERS, REMOVAL OF ORIGINAL PARTS OR ALTERATION OF A PRODUCT OR IDENTIFICATION LABELS, OR DAMAGE CAUSED BY A PRODUCT NOT COVERED UNDER THIS AGREEMENT. DAMAGE FROM FIRE, FLOOD, SAND, DIRT, WEATHER OR OTHER EXTERNAL FACTORS. THEFT OR LOSS ANY DAMAGE OR LOSS DUE TO WILFUL ACT, DELIBERATE ACT, RECKLESSNESS, MALICIOUS ACT OR VANDALISM.

CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES OR LOSS OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF USE AND LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY, EVEN IF LENOVO IS INFORMED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY. ANY TECHNICAL OR OTHER SUPPORT, SUCH AS ASSISTANCE WITH HOW-TO QUESTIONS AND THOSE REGARDING PRODUCT SET-UP INSTALLATION.
LIMITED SERVICES WARRANTY: DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES Lenovo warrants that Lenovo will perform Service using reasonable care and skill. NO OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES ARE PROVIDED TO YOU. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT. NO INFORMATION OR ADVICE (WRITTEN OR ORAL) PROVIDED TO YOU BY US OR OUR CONTRACTORS, WILL CREATE A WARRANTY BY US OR INCREASE THE SCOPE OF THIS SERVICE AGREEMENT. LIMITED LIABILITY CIRCUMSTANCES MAY ARISE WHERE, BECAUSE OF A DEFAULT ON OUR PART OR OTHER LIABILITY, YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO RECOVER DAMAGES FROM US. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN EACH SUCH INSTANCE, REGARDLESS OF THE BASIS ON WHICH YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO CLAIM DAMAGES FROM US (INCLUDING FUNDAMENTAL BREACH, NEGLIGENCE, MISREPRESENTATION, OR OTHER CONTRACT OR TORT CLAIM), WE ARE LIABLE FOR NO MORE THAN THE AMOUNT OF ANY ACTUAL DIRECT DAMAGES UP TO THE CHARGE FOR THE SERVICE THAT IS THE SUBJECT OF THE CLAIM. PLEASE NOTE, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE WE JOINTLY OR SEVERALLY LIABLE FOR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING: (1) THIRD-PARTY CLAIMS AGAINST YOU FOR LOSSES OR DAMAGES; (2) LOSS OF, OR DAMAGE TO, YOUR RECORDS, FILES OR DATA; OR (3) SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOST REVENUE, PROFITS OR SAVINGS), EVEN IF WE ARE INFORMED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF SUCH DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. GENERAL Nothing in this Agreement affects any statutory rights of consumers that cannot be waived or limited by contract. You may not assign, or otherwise transfer, this Agreement or your rights under it, or delegate your obligations, without Lenovos prior written consent. Any attempt to do so will void the Agreement. Any terms which by nature extend beyond the termination of this Agreement remain in effect until fulfilled. In the event that any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions of this Agreement remain in full force and effect. All your rights and all Lenovo's obligations are valid only in the country/region in which Lenovo provides the Service. The Service under this package will be provided only in the country/region in which you purchased the package. All Your rights and all Our obligations are valid only in the Region you purchased the related Product, and such Region of Purchase is limited to one of following regions: Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macau Special Administrative Region (Region of Purchase).
Both You and Lenovo consent to the application of the laws of the Region of Purchase to govern, interpret, and enforce all of Your and Lenovos rights, duties, and obligations arising from, or relating in any manner to, the subject matter of these terms and conditions, without regard to conflict of law principles.
