Competitive Analysis
Remote Monitoring
Chatsworth Products, Inc. vs APC NetBotz 500/420/320
Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM-600)
The table below compares product features of the Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI) Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM-600) System with APC Netbotz products and illustrates several advantages of the CPI RIM-600 system. Advantages of the CPI RIM-600 system: The RIM-600 has an internal battery backup so it will keep working and notifying you of environmental conditions if the power goes out. There is typically no need for a separate UPS to provide backup power to the monitoring equipment. CPIs RIM-600 has integrated voice/modem to provide direct access through a dial-up connection so you can continue to monitor environmental conditions if the network connection goes down. The voice/modem also allows you to check status by voice call and be notified by voice call, fax or pager. With the RIM-600 you can check status by two-way email, which gives an easy way to check status without dialing in or logging on to the network, especially when outside the corporate network. CPIs RIM-600 has more external sensor ports on each base unit, and the sensors are automatically detected and configured when connected. Plus, sensors connect directly to the base unit (host or node) using standard network cables and patch cords. You can connect sensors from several rooms to a single host or node. The RIM-600 is easy to expand. Start with the RIM-600 Host Module and then add the RIM-600 Node Module. Host and node connect through your network without having to be in the same room or building. ConsoleView Software is included with the RIM-600. This software allows you to monitor multiple locations (host, nodes and sensors that are connected through your network) from a single interface. Take advantage of existing network cameras with the ConsoleView Software interface eliminating the need for a built-in camera. CPIs RIM-600 can also monitor the network port activity of more IP devices to let you know when equipment is not responding. The RIM-600 is a very cost effective solution for multiple site monitoring applications.
