1. Light. 2. Highly functional. 3. Elegant. 4. Pretty powerful. Short battery life between recharges. Reasonable price ; fast performance ; clear screen ; well-designed keyboard ; very portable Battery life could be better ; mouse needs improvement

4 hrs of life After using a dead battery for the last yr, this one was a blessing. on the first charge it lasted almost 4hrs.

The Dell Latitude X200 is the thinnest and lightest of all Latitudes. Weighing in at only 2.8lbs* and measuring a mere 0.8 inches thin the Latitude X200 delivers outstanding usability and unconscious mobility for business on the move.
Equipped with Intel's latest Ultra Low Voltage Mobile Pentium III Processor 800MHz-M, a bright easy to read 12.1" XGA LCD and a comfortable full-sized keyboard - the Dell Latitude X200 is ultra lightweight and comfortable to use with plenty of power and performance for demanding mobile computing. Fully integrated communications - both 56K1, v.92 capable modem and 10/100 ethernet - as well as optional integrated 802.11b wireless - provide "unconscious mobility" with the Latitude X200. The optional Latitude X200 MediaBase provides easy access to media drives - as well as abundant connectivity ports, audio speakers and floppy diskette drive.
Dell TrueMobileTM Wireless Solutions
The Dell TrueMobile integrated wireless solutions make wireless connectivity easy - no wires, no snap-on modules, no PC cards. The Dell Latitude X200 is wireless ready. Every system is configured with an integrated antenna enabling easy upgrade to wireless connectivity via the optional internal TrueMobile miniPCI 802.11b wireless LAN card.
Integrated Communications
The Dell Latitude X200 is ready to connect. Every system is configured with both integrated 3Com 10/100 ethernet chip supporting wake-on-LAN from all power states as well as an integrated 56K1 v.92 capable modem supporting wake-on-ring. Both modem port (RJ11) and LAN port (RJ45) are conveniently located on the notebook for ease of connection.

The Dell Latitude X200 is an aggressively thin, lightweight notebook designed with the user's comfort and ease of use in mind. The X200 features a superb keyboard with 18.5mm spacing and 2.4mm travel, integrated touchpad and bright, easy to read 12.1" XGA LCD all encased in sleek durable lightweight magnesium alloy to provide durability and peace of mind for the most demanding of mobile users. The optional X200 MediaBase features choice of CDROM, CD-RW or CD-RW/DVD Combo configured in one of the two media bays - with Floppy Disk Drive in the second media bay. Preparing to Work Inside the Computer
CAUTION: Before working inside your computer, read "Safety and EMC Instructions: Portable Computers" in your System Information Guide. NOTICE: Only a certified service technician should perform repairs on your computer. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. NOTICE: To avoid damaging the computer, perform the following steps before you begin working inside the computer. 1. Ensure that the work surface is flat and clean to prevent scratching the computer cover. 2. Save any work in progress and exit all open programs. 3. Turn off the computer and all attached devices.
NOTE: Ensure that the computer is turned off and not in suspend or hibernate mode. If you cannot shut down the computer using the computer operating system, press and hold the power button for 4 seconds. 4. Ensure that the computer is undocked.

5. Disconnect the computer from the electrical outlet. 6. To avoid possible damage to the system board, wait 10 to 20 seconds and then disconnect any attached devices. 7. Disconnect all other external cables from the computer. 8. Remove any installed PC Cards or plastic blanks from the PC Card slot. 9. Close the display and turn the computer upside down on a flat work surface.
NOTICE: To avoid damaging the system board, you must remove the battery before you service the computer. 10. Remove the battery from the battery bay. 11. To dissipate any static electricity while you work, use a wrist grounding strap or periodically touch an unpainted metal surface. 12. Handle components and cards with care. Do not touch the components or contacts on a card. Hold a card by it edges or by its metal mounting bracket. Hold a component such as a microprocessor by its edges, not by its pins.
