this phone is very good it looks nice and has a exellent camra vidio could be a bit longer but other then that a exellent phone!! Hiya peeps! Just writin 2 say that i fink the gx30 is the best fone eva!( ther probably is a beta fone but neva mind i want 2 sound enthusiaistic!

Your phone offers you the following features: Built-in digital camera that can take pictures and record video clips. Create and read SMS (Text Message). Call Functions 27
Call Waiting This service notifies you of another incoming call whilst you have a call in progress. 1. During a call, press A [Options] and press a or b to select Hold & Answer, then press or A [Select] to answer the second call. The first call is put on hold and you can now talk to the second caller. 2. Press A [Options] and press a or b to highlight Swap Calls, then press or A [Select] to switch between the two calls.
Accessing SMS Menu During a Call
1. During a call, press A[Options] and press a or b
to highlight Text, then press or A [Select] to select. The following options are available: Create Message to make an SMS, or Inbox, Sent or Drafts to access these folders. For details on SMS, see Text (SMS) on page 76.
3. Press A [Options] and press a or b to highlight
Release Call, then press or A [Select] to end the current call and return to the held call.
Note You need to set Call Waiting to On if you use the Call Waiting service (p. 162). Call Waiting service may not be available on all networks. Contact your network operator for more information. If you do not wish to answer the second call, press C [Busy], or press A [Options], then press a or b to in step highlight Busy or Reject, then press 1. If Reject is selected, the call log of the second call is saved as a missed call.

28 Call Functions

Conference Call Conference call is a call with more than 2 participants. You may include up to 5 participants in a conference call. To Make a Conference Call To make a conference call, you must have one active call and one held call. 1. Press A [Options] to display the Options menu. 2. Press a or b to highlight Multiparty, then press or A [Select] to select. 3. Press a or b to highlight Conference All, then press to join the conference call.
To disconnect from the conference call but still allow the other participants to continue talking together, select Transfer. To put the current call on hold and continue to have a conference call with the remaining participants, select Exclude. To reject adding more participants to the current party, select Reject, or you can send the busy tone by selecting Busy.
4. Press F to end the conference call.

Note Conference call service may not be available on all networks. Contact your network operator for more information. You have more options for the Conference call in step 3: To put all participants on hold, select Conference Hold All. To put all participants except the current call on hold, select Private. To end the call with all participants, select Release All.

To Add New Participants to the Conference Call 1. Press A [Options] to display the Options menu. 2. Press a or b to highlight Dial, then press or A [Select] to select.

To Have a Private Conversation with One of the Participants If you wish to have a private conversation with one of the participants, you may select the participant from the conference list and put the other participants on hold. 1. Muting the Dial Tone (DTMF Tone) 1. During a call, press A [Options] and press a or b to highlight DTMF Tones Off, then press or A [Select]. To unmute the dial tone, highlight DTMF Tones On in step 1. Muting the Microphone 1. During a call, press C [Mute] to mute the microphone. To unmute the microphone, press C [Unmute].

Entering Characters

When entering characters to create Contacts List entries, text messages or multimedia messages, etc., press the corresponding keys. In multi-tap input method, press each key until the desired character is displayed. For example, press H once for the letter A or twice for the letter B. Table of Characters Pressing each key scrolls characters in the following order. The order varies depending on the language selected.

Reading SMS Incoming Messages The SMS indicator ( ) will appear when an incoming message arrives. 1. When you receive a SMS, press during standby. 2. Press a or b to highlight the message you wish to view. The senders phone number and a part of the message are displayed. When the senders phone number is stored in the Contacts List, the senders name is displayed instead of the phone number. Messages are marked with denote unread messages. If the Inbox, Sent box or Drafts box is full, is displayed. Delete unnecessary messages. 3. Press.

Note The size of pictures that you can add stamps to is 24 dots [W] 24 dots [H] minimum and 240 dots [W] 320 dots [H] or 320 dots [W] 240 dots [H] maximum. To Rotate Pictures
1. Perform steps 1 to 4 in Viewing Pictures on

page 91.

point you wish to add a stamp.

Copying or Moving Pictures You can copy or move pictures between the handset memory and memory card. 1. Perform steps 1 to 4 in Viewing Pictures on page 91. 2. Press a or b to highlight the file name you wish to copy or move, then press to select.

Changing the File Name

to change, then press A [Options]. The Options menu is displayed. 3. Press a or b to highlight Rename, then press or A [Select] to select.

To correct the last character, press C [Clear] briefly. Press and hold C [Clear] to clear all characters. 5. Press. Note Following characters cannot be used for a file name: /, \, :, *, ?, ", <, >, | and. (full-stop). (Full-stop can be used for picture files in the memory card.)
Adjusting the Size of the Picture The pictures that are registered in the handset memory or in the memory card can be adjusted for use as main or external displays as well as incoming call, alarm or power on/off displays. When the picture size is modified, the data size is updated. 1. Perform steps 1 to 4 in Viewing Pictures on page 91. 2. Press a or b to highlight the file name you wish to adjust, then press A [Options]. The Options menu is displayed. 3. Press a or b to highlight Adjust Size, then press or A [Select] to select. 4. Press a or b to highlight Main Display, External Display, Power On/Off, Incoming or Alarm, then press to select. The selected picture is displayed. 5. Press a, b, c or d to specify the area you wish to display, then press.

Checking the Picture Information

Checking the Information of the Sound Files

Setting the Tone and Strength

To delete the last character, press C [Clear] briefly. Press and hold C [Clear] to clear all characters. 5. Press. Tip When Edit Data is displayed in the menu in step 2, you are able to edit the sound (p. 132). Once you have completed editing the newly saved file overwrites the old file. This new file then becomes the original ringtone.
Note If Set Tone and Set Strength are not displayed in the menu in step 2, you cannot change these settings. Sending Messages 1. Perform steps 1 to 4 in Playing Back Sounds on page 101. 2. Press a or b to highlight the file name you wish to send, then press A [Options]. The Options menu is displayed. 3. Press a or b to highlight Create Message, then press or A [Select] to select. If you select your original ringtone in step 2, perform the following, otherwise go to step 5.

Videos (M 6-4)

Video clips that are recorded by a video camera or video clips that are downloaded from mobile Internet sites can be managed. Downloading Video Clip Files (M 6-4-3) 1. Press to display the Main menu. 2. Press a, b, c or d to highlight My Stuff, then press to select.

Vibration (M 1-4-4) When the vibrator is set in the application, you can choose whether the operation is enabled or disabled. When a SMAF file is specified in the application, you can operate the vibrator set in the SMAF file. Note SMAF (Synthetic music Mobile Application Format) is a music data format for mobile phones. 1. Perform steps 1 to 3 in Opening the Settings Screen on page 111. 2. Press a or b to highlight Vibration, then press to select.
3. Press a or b to highlight Enable, Disable or
Link to Sound, then press to select. When you set Link to Sound, the application is synchronised with the vibrator.

All items in Settings menu and screensaver settings are reset. To cancel resetting, press C [No] in step 5.
To Clear All Applications All applications stored in Applications are cleared. The preloaded application cannot be deleted. 1. Perform steps 1 to 3 in Opening the Settings Screen on page 111. 2. Press a or b to highlight Reset, then press to select.
. If you enter a wrong handset code, the screen will return to step 3 in Opening the Settings Screen on page 111. 4. Press a or b to highlight All Clear, then press to select.
All applications are cleared. To cancel clearing, press C [No] in step 5.

Java Information (M 1-5)

To enter a decimal point, press R. To clear the entered number or operand, press C [Clear]. To do the calculations, press. 6. If you wish to start a new calculation, press C [Clear]. Rate Conversion (M 3-5-2) You can also use the calculator as a currency calculator to convert from/to a home currency using a conversion rate that you enter. To Set a Currency Conversion Rate 1. Perform steps 1 to 3 in Calculator. 2. Press a or b to highlight Exchange Rate, then press to select.

to select. The calculator is displayed on the display. 5. Key operations for calculation are as follows.

Press a or b to highlight In Domestic or In Foreign, then press or A [Select] to select. The result is displayed. If you select Exchange Rate in step 3, you can set a currency conversion rate. Note You cannot perform step 2 when an arithmetic symbol (+, , or ) is displayed.

Voice Recorder (M 3-6)

This allows you to record a voice message of up to 60 seconds, which can be used to remind you of schedule entries or be sent within a multimedia message. The recorded voice message is registered in the handset memory or in the memory card. To Record a Voice Message 1. Press to display the Main menu. 2. Press a, b, c or d to highlight Applications, then press to select.

to start recording. To stop recording before the recording time is over, press. 5. Press a or b to highlight Save to save the voice message, then press to select.
Tip You can also record a voice message by pressing during stand-by, then press R whilst the Main menu is displayed, instead of steps 1 to 3. If you wish to record a voice message again, press C [Cancel] in step 5. The screen will return to step 4. Whilst performing step 4, press A [Options] instead in order to switch the memory back and forth to either the handset memory or the memory card, then press a or b to highlight Save New Sounds to, then press to select. Then press a or b to highlight Handset Memory or Memory Card, then press to select. To Play Back the Recorded Voice Message 1. Perform steps 1 to 4 in To Record a Voice Message on page 123. 2. Press a or b to highlight Playback, then press to select.

To Send Voice Messages

1. Perform steps 1 to 4 in To Record a Voice

Any Key Answer

The phone will record the last 10 missed calls, received calls and dialled numbers. Viewing Call Log 1. Press to display the Main menu. 2. Press a, b, c or d to highlight Contacts, then press to select.
