Worth the price I love this sat nav. it is actually better than my boyfriends tom tom at finding the correct road at the end of the journey.

Although one of the cheapest on the market, the function of this sat nav shows you get what you pay for. Firstly.
kaznatius 6:48am on Monday, July 12th, 2010
Having recently passed my driving test, my parents bought me this sat nav for getting back and forward to university etc. I purchased my 66 mini from Halfords, and after a few days realised it was faulty. Halfords exchanged it after consulting Route66.

Northern Lights Parade December 11th, 2010 by Bob Bortree
WEATHER---it could not have been any better. The warmest I can remember in the 12 years we have been doing this parade. Incidentally, I would not have done this one if I had not opened my big mouth at the last general meeting about members not attending events. We had a good showing this year: Mac & Jackie -33 Fiat, Lance & Kathy McKee 70 Cougar, Randy Travis 56 Ford Van, Jim & LuAnn Gore 33 Nashty, Mark & Kathy Strango 71 Chevelle, Mike & Pam & Lacey Ebersole -71 Malibu, Ed & Pat Wiebie - 36 Chevy, Mike Reyes & Family 90 Bronco and an Escalade, Robin Moore & brother in law and family-- ??International Travel All I think, Lowell & Sally Page - ?? Mustang, Vern & Trish Pfannenstiel - 72 Bronco and Bob & Maggie Bortree 90 Mustang. Mostly made up of the usual parade crowd-----could use more entries. In addition, Mike Whitaker, Robin Moore, Ted Stringer and Jan were there for moral support. It was so warm that standing around waiting for the delayed parade was comfortable----the sign/barrier company did not show up and we waited an extra thirty minutes for that. Maggie and I even enjoyed our convertible ride with the top downstory later. We were near the front of the parade and our cars did us up proud: 1. Leading out was our token Fiat (33 Plymouth) with Jackie McCrorey and the old guy she hangs out with. And no the Noel sign on the back did not mean old guy but meant no elves according to the old guy. 2. Our favorite electrician lit up the area with the many strands on the Ebersole Malibu----waiting for it to blow up. 3. The Strangos showed up with 12 volt nets and covered up their car. Their Christmas paper plates worked great as wheel spinners. 4. Randy lit up the inside of the panel like daylight to keep Mike Whitaker awake (he rode with Randy) while Mike kept Randy awake. 5. Lance showed up with the Christmas Tree delight with some added touches. If he ever explodes, they are going to take a lot out. I might add that Lance was way early this year since they delayed the event 30 minutes. 6. Ed Wiebie showed up with an additional small Christmas tree on the 36. Sponge Bob got a toilet lid this year for a pulpit on the BBQ pit. 7. Jim Gore had his car decorated with strands of lights and 500 feet of holly according to him (looked a lot like green duct tape to me). 8. Mike Reyes had some neat lights on his Bronco with varying designs and blinking wheel lights. Did not get to ask where he got them. 9. Vern & Trish had their Bronco decorated out for the night----her world traveler husband just happened to be (continued on page 7)

Dennis Champagne and Amanda from the Northern AZ food Bank made a presentation concerning the gun show. They wanted a food drive, car display, raffle fund raiser, to raise money for FUSD athletics. Sounded good however, Route 66 does not want to be affiliated in advertising with the gun show. Members are welcome to show their cars at their own discretion. Flagstaff Fallen Officer Memorial: Honoring officers and deputies who have given their lives serving the citizens of Flagstaff and Coconino County. Josh Copley made a presentation for donations to this memorial to be dedicated in June of 2011. A bronze sculpture by Neil Logan wil be 10ft. tall and presently displayed at the new police station with engraved blocks of different sizes to be purchased as individuals or groups as donations to this fine memorial. Route 66 members presented individual donations made out to C.A.S.A., and it will be determined at a later date if the club will also donate. Flagstaff Route 66 Days Permit submitted to City and ADOT Flyers mailed to past participants Bids for t-shirts being taken Vendor Applications being worked on: New Fees Need a Sponsor Coordinator and a Door Prize Coordinator Robin - Cruise packages for the year: See attached (*Ed - see page 8) Asked for 2011 Christmas Party Ideas Sean - Route 66 Minute- During the car show this year the Flagstaff Public Library will have a nice display About Rout66 with many pictures and information about HWY66.
Flagstaff Fallen Officer Memorial The membership of the Route 66 Car club really stepped up to the plate, generously contributing towards the Flagstaff Fallen Officer Memorial project. This memorial will honor those officers and deputies who have sacrificed their lives serving the citizens of Flagstaff and Coconino County. The Clubaccountcontributed $137.50 towards the Doyle Peak level, 6 x 9 engraved brick, while individual club memberscontributed a total of $270.00. Special thanks to the following club members: Randy Travis, Jim & Joyce Merritt, Jim and Alana Velez, John Fajardo, Elizabeth Neumayer, David and Allison Schaubert, Mike and Pam Ebersole, Ken and Susan Manilla, Kelly and Kathy Perkins, Dick, Judy, and Chelissa Roe, and Andy and Mona Keksis. The total contribution from the Route 66 Car Club was $407.50. Well done!

(Northern Lights Parade continued from page 5) home instead of in Mongolia, China, etc. 10. Robins brother in law showed up with a completely restored International Suburban like vehicle. All new running gear and engine--I might just mention Chevy parts. He is going to be able to go some serious places with that rig. 11. Lowell and Sally (ear muffs) Page had their Mustang lit up for the event. 12. And last but not least, Bob & Maggie stuck a blow up Snowman in the rear seat of their Daughters 90 Mustang with the top down. Bob even drove this odd vehicle down the street in front of God and all of Flagstaff to see. Am I not comfortable with my Ford side or whatnot. Tremendous crowd this year---the weather probably helped. Great event with no car mishaps. We then migrated over to the Wiebies hacienda for the annual after parade potluck. There we were joined by Kelly Perkins, Steve & Sandy Hurt, Jim Rohr and Elizabeth Neumayer. Always great fun with friends and good food. Again, our many thanks to our gracious hosts Ed & Pat Wiebe for putting up with us each year. Writers comment: If you find any of the above to be untruths, slander or just plain put downs, please feel free to enter your car in the parade and write this article next year.
Ed Note: The annual Lance and Kathy McKee entry is hard to beat. It is impossible to portray it properly in a newsletter; music, train running around the roof on a track, synchronized light strings on hood, trunk, and fullsize Christmas Tree, and a lighted Christmas Village. If you didnt see it in the parade, ask him to show you the movie.. Whats he going to add next year ???
