How to Use the NEC VT540 Projector
1. How to set the projector up a. Place the projector on a steady level surface b. Plug the power cable in the power outlet. The projector will go into its standby mode and the power indicator will glow orange c. Unplug the data cable from the computer monitor
d. Plug the data cable from the monitor in the INPUT connector on the projector

e. Plug the additional data cable (white) in the OUTPUT connector on the projector
f. Plug the other end of the additional data cable in the computer monitor data input connector
g. Remove the lens protector and press the POWER button to turn the projector on. The power indicator will blink green and after a few seconds
the projector will be ready to use. The projected image will be visible on the projector screen and on the computer monitor h. Adjusting the image size and the focus i. Use the Zoom lever located next to the projection lens to adjust the image size ii. Use the Focus ring located around the projection lens to obtain the best focus
2. When you are done using the projector
a. Turning off the projector i. Press the POWER button and hold it for 2 seconds. The power indicator will glow orange. After the projector turns off, the cooling fans will keep operating for about 1 minute. DO NOT disconnect the power cable until the fans turn off. Then unplug the power cable. The power indicator will go out ii. Replace the lens protection cover
b. Replacing the cables i. Disconnect the data cables from the projector and the monitor

Disconnect

ii. Reconnect the data cable from the PC to the monitor (blue connector)
IMPORTANT: 1. The projector should be unplugged if it will not be used for an extended period. 2. Do not turn the projector off and then immediately back on. The projector needs to cool for 30 seconds before it can be restarted. 3. Avoid displaying stationary images for a prolonged period of time. Doing so can result in these images being temporarily sustained on the surface of the LCD panel. If this should happen, continue using your projector. The static background from previous images will disappear.
