I understand why so many folks are dissing this camera. Not true, the GZHD7 works flawless with a Mac running OS X 10.4 or higher and iMovie or FCE (and I suspect FCP.

Better than the reviews - BUT NOT FOR APPLE MAC USERS..... Looks great, professional styling. Down side to the GZ-HD7 This camcorder does everything well, with the exception of the Optical Image Stabilisation- which is totally ineffective.

The Proof is in the Pudding The proof is in the pudding. I shot an entire feature-length documentary using a JVC GZ-HD7U. Fantastic Camcorder Read some poor reviews but to my delight it is just what I wanted. An upgrade to HD from a 3 chip Sony. Videos are gorgeous. maybe a 4.5 but a 1 never I have owned this camera for about 2 years, conversion is tricky and does take some reading on how to do it.

Better than the reviews - BUT NOT FOR APPLE MAC USERS..... Looks great, professional styling. My first camcorder I did a lot of research and soul searching before parting with my pound notes for this camera.

I have found this JVC camcorder produces an awesome clear and crisp picture quality. It is a very compact HDV camcorder. This is camera with which you need to live for a while. Im from AUSTRALIA i went to Harvey norman store and they dont have the GZ-HD7 any longer its only a last years model 2007.

JVC may have broken New York state laws (ie Fraud) and they used the internet so it becomes a federal crime. even though there is no night vision you can adjust the shutter speed to compensate.

Excellent HD Quality, Viewfinder, Multiple Outputs, large LCD screen, Software has some nice features OIS is a joke, transferring files takes forever,... This is my first camcorder so before purchasing I did my research and found that I wanted an HD camera that used a harddrive instead of tape or DVD.

This camcorder uses 1.8in hard drive sized with 60Gb capacity as media storage. In Fried too prosperous, the JVC began gradually revealed itself high DV. In the beginning, the JVC finally released latest hd digital camera.
