My Company uses Citrix, so I am able to run Windows Applications, SAP, even flash and all my GO TO corporate applications on the device. The iPad is exactly what I expected, easy to use, very well executed so long as you understand that it is mainly a device to consume media.

Adobe Stock Photos is an ecient and convenient way for creative professionals to search, try, manage, and buy royalty-free stock images from some of the worlds leading stock image libraries, including Photodisc by Getty Images, Comstock Images by Jupitermedia, Digital Vision, imageshop by zefaimages, and amana.

Finding the right image to use is only part of the process in a design workow. Designers must then integrate watermark-free comps into their layouts and make adjustments to present their design ideas to their managers or clients. When the layout is approved, designers must purchase and download full-resolution images (many times from more than one source) and integrate them into the nal design. With Adobe Stock Photos, this entire process is managed for them: Search Within Adobe Bridge, perform integrated searches across multiple stock image libraries, encompassing a growing collection of over 230,000 images. You can then save advanced searches and easily return to them later. Try With no need to log in, download watermark-free comp images to a central location, making it easy to nd and use them without leaving Adobe Bridge. Manage Double-click on downloaded comps to edit them in Adobe Photoshop CS2, or drag them right into your Adobe InDesign CS2, Adobe Illustrator CS2, or Adobe GoLive CS2 layouts. Adobe Stock Photos retains the data associated with each image (such as the image ID and supplier), even if the image is edited or renamed. Buy Purchase high-resolution, royalty-free images directly from within Adobe Creative Suite 2 components using a single, integrated shopping cart and a single license agreement from Adobe, no matter which library the image comes from. Royalty-free images have a single up-front fee and can be used more than once without additional charges. The cost is based on the size of the le (or physical resolution) rather than the intended use. Pricing is straightforward, and terms and conditions are consistent, making the process easy to manage. This white paper is intended for anyone who currently uses royalty-free stock images or is interested in using them. This document explains how Adobe Stock Photos works and how it is integrated into the Adobe Creative Suite 2 workow.

Adobe Bridge oers one-click access to Adobe Stock Photos.
Adobe Bridge is the hub for productivity, imagery, and inspiration in Adobe Creative Suite 2, and is a natural gateway to Adobe Stock Photos. Designers often need to access assets when theyre in the middle of creating an image composition in Photoshop or designing a page in InDesign. Now, with a minimum of disruption to their creative ow, designers can launch Adobe Bridge from within Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and GoLive CS2 and locate the image they need.
Adobe Stock Photos and enhanced productivity
Adobe Stock Photos lets creative professionals search for and browse stock images from a selection of premiere stock suppliers without ever leaving Adobe Creative Suite 2. With a document open in InDesign, for example, designers can jump to Adobe Bridge, seamlessly search collections from multiple stock suppliers, browse the results, and download unwatermarked low-resolution comps to place into their designs without missing a creative beat. Then they can rename the comps to better t their own workow, and Adobe Stock Photos will preserve the link to the original image for when the designer is ready to purchase the high-resolution version. Adobe Stock Photos is integrated directly into Adobe Creative Suite 2. Each image that is downloaded from Adobe Stock Photos contains embedded Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) metadata that can be accessed by any Adobe Creative Suite 2 component. Because of this metadata, an Adobe application always knows if an image is a low-resolution comp, what the image ID is, and which stock library it belongs to. Even if the le name is changed, youll be able to see where the image came from. This information is readily available through Adobe Bridge or any Adobe Creative Suite 2 component. You can access Adobe Stock Photos from the Go to Bridge icon in the Tool Options bar in Photoshop, or the Control palette in InDesign and Illustrator. Additionally, you can access Adobe Stock Photos from the toolbar in GoLive. Of course, you can access Adobe Stock Photos directly from Adobe Bridge.

Adobe Stock Photos

What are royalty-free images? For those who need to use images in a variety of ways at a reasonable cost, the stock photo industry oers images that can be used more than once for a single up-front fee. The price for royalty-free stock images is based on the size of the le (or physical resolution) rather than the intended use. There are some restrictions as to how royaltyfree images can be used. For details, see the License Agreement, which you can access by clicking Terms of Service on the Adobe Stock Photos main page.
Easy access: You can launch Adobe Stock Photos directly from the toolbar in GoLive CS2.
It is easy to keep track of downloaded image comps and perform complex searches using Adobe Stock Photos. In addition, you can purchase high-resolution versions of your comps from within Adobe Bridge or even InDesign or Illustrator. Rather than having to log into multiple stock photo sites, track, and manage all of the images youve downloaded and used, Adobe Stock Photos does these tasks for you, freeing you to be at your creative best. To get a better understanding of the benets of Adobe Stock Photos, lets imagine that were designing a layout and we want to use a royalty-free image in our design. From Adobe Bridge, well click on the Adobe Stock Photos icon listed in the Favorites panel. Search First, well search for the image using the convenient search box underneath the Adobe Stock Photos logo in Adobe Bridge. Well type in teenager headphones and start the search. The results appear in the Adobe Bridge window. We can then browse through the images and rate them using the ve dots beneath each thumbnail. In addition, we can click on a thumbnail and choose a color from the Label menu to color code groups of images, making it easy to track the images that you like. At any time, you can click on the button at the top of the window to lter images that are rated with a certain number of stars or labeled a particular color.
Give images star ratings and view image metadata as you browse.
As you scroll through the search results, youll notice that a single search returned images from several dierent stock photo agencies. You can highlight an image and click the Get Price & Keywords button for additional information about the image. The rst time you select Get Price & Keywords, you are asked to choose your locale from among 27 countries to display the appropriate pricing information. You can change the country setting at any time in Adobe Bridge preferences. In the Get Price & Keywords window, youll see prices for dierent resolutions of the image, as well as a list of keywords. You can initiate a new search from keywords that are associated with this image if you havent found what you are looking for.

Global Support Adobe Stock Photos is available to more designers worldwide than most other stock photo services. Supported Countries Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Republic of China, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States Supported Currencies USD, GBP, YEN, EURO Keyword Search Languages Dutch, English (UK and US), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish
Extend your search: You can ne-tune your search by using the keywords associated with a found image. You can also quickly get detailed information about sizes and prices.
Our search returned quite a few images, so lets perform a more advanced search to narrow the number of results. The Advanced Search feature lets you better target the search. For example, you can choose to search for color images only from a particular stock photo agency.
Advanced searches allow you to choose specic critera, like color, landscape, or image library.
Try So now weve found an image that might work. You can download a comp to use in your layout by simply clicking Download Comp. Repeat for additional images as desired. All downloaded comps are automatically stored in the Downloaded Comps folder, located in the Adobe Bridge Favorites panel. In addition, your downloaded comps dont have watermarked logos, making them suitable for layouts and proong by managers and clients.
XMP Metadata The Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) is a labeling technology that allows you to embed data about a le into the le. With XMP, desktop applications and back-end publishing systems gain a common method for capturing, sharing, and leveraging this valuable metadata, enabling more ecient job processing, workow automation, and rights management. Adobe Stock Photos uses XMP to embed information, such as the image ID, stock provider, and resolution, enabling Adobe Creative Suite 2 components to track downloaded comps even when the le names have been changed, and to download high-resolution images without hassle.
Find your images faster: Adobe Stock Photos gives you a central locationAdobe Bridgewhere you can always revisit previous searches, access downloaded comps, and nd previously purchased images.
Manage Finding the right image to use in a design workow is only part of the process. We now have to integrate the stock photo comp into our layout and make adjustments so we can present our design ideas to our managers or clients. Adobe Stock Photos helps in this process by allowing you to easily edit comps, place comps directly into layouts, and view important information about comps, like the provider, image ID, and keywords. The le names of the downloaded comps are cryptic numbers, so lets rename the images to something more meaningful. You can change the le name by clicking on the image in the downloaded comps folder and typing your preferred name. But even though weve renamed the le, Adobe Stock Photosand Adobe Creative Suite 2 componentscan still track this le as a comp. Right-click on the image (Control-click on a Mac if you have a single-button mouse), choose File Info, and choose the Adobe Stock Photos panel where you can view information such as the Image ID and stock vendor. Adobe Bridge is more than a utility to search for images. From Adobe Bridge, you can easily open Photoshop CS2 to edit an image. Just go to the Downloaded Comps folder and right-click or Control-click on any comp images and choose Open With Adobe Photoshop CS2. Alternatively, double-clicking on any image launches the application that is set in the File Type Associations panel in Adobe Bridge preferences. In Photoshop you can save the le as a native Photoshop le (.PSD) and choose a location on your hard drive. Were now ready to place the image into our layout. You can do that by placing the le as you normally do, or by dragging the image directly from Adobe Bridge into your existing InDesign, Illustrator, or GoLive layout. Choose Window > Links to open the Links palette in either InDesign or Illustrator, where all placed les are tracked. Notice that the comp image we just placed (or dragged into the layout) is now listed in the palette. A special icon in the Links palette appears beside the le name, indicating that this image is a stock photo comp image. This is the same icon that appears with all stock images in Adobe Bridge and other Adobe Creative Suite 2 components. Double-click on the le name in the Links palette to view link information. Additionally, in InDesign you can choose Link File Info from the Links palette menu to view the les metadata. Notice again that the information has traveled with the le, even after saving the le in Photoshop.

A special icon appears in the Links palette that identies it as an Adobe Stock Photos comp.
Buy Upon approval of the layout, the designer can purchase and download full-resolution images in a single transaction from within Adobe Creative Suite 2even when buying images from more than one source. Because usage rights are centralized in Adobe Stock Photos, pricing is straightforward, and terms and conditions are consistent. Once the comps or high-resolution images are downloaded, theyre accessible through Adobe Bridge like all other assets, and can be previewed, organized, and searched for easy retrieval and reuse. In addition, InDesign features several production utilities that can help you prepare a le for nal output to a print service provider. Choosing File > Preight in InDesign checks your entire document for potential print problems. InDesign ags low-resolution comp images during preight. You can replace low resolution comps with high resolution images directly from InDesign or Illustrator. Just highlight the comp image in the Links palette and choose Purchase This Image from the palette menu.
InDesigns Preight feature ags Adobe Stock Photos comps and alerts you to their presence.
Adobe Stock Photos contains an integrated shopping cart in Adobe Bridge, from which you can choose the images you want to purchase. If you dont already have an Adobe Stock Photos account set up, you can click the Set up an Account button and follow the directions. Alternatively, you can purchase images as a guest. Remember that images from several dierent providers libraries can be placed in the same shopping cart and purchased in a single transaction. When you complete your purchase, the images are downloaded to your Purchased Images folder located in the Favorites panel in Adobe Bridge. Or you can set a preference in Adobe Bridge to not download images immediately after purchase. This settings is useful in situations where you might not have a broadband Internet connection available all the time. Purchased images contain embedded metadata, including the purchase ID, order ID, price, image resolution, and le size, which can help you manage your les long after youve made your purchase. This metadata is also accessible directly from within layouts. If you create an account with Adobe Stock Photos, you can take advantage of other useful features, like accessing your order history and tracking order status. Additionally, you can manage your account prole and re-download previously purchased images in case youve lost them.

Going beyond royalty-free images
Even though Adobe Stock Photos oers a huge library of stock photos through its partners, there might be times when a design project calls for something that cant be addressed with a stock image. In such cases, Adobe Stock Photos can help designers nd alternatives to royalty-free stock images through directories of Rights Managed libraries or professional photographers. In Adobe Stock Photos within Adobe Bridge, click the More ways to nd images icon. This link takes you to the rights-managed libraries of Adobe Stock Photos providers and a searchable photographers directory. The purchase process and licensing agreements for these images are handled through the partner, not Adobe Stock Photos. Click the link to the photographers database to nd a professional photographer.
