Most flexable distances I had one of these cameras (3 years old) and dropped it on vacation this spring and destroyed it.

Versatility Plus!! This is a great camera that will accomodate the learner or the professional! Perfect replacement for a step-down advanced amateur.

Excellent output quality, RAW capability, durability, flexibility, 8 MP, 28-200 zoom, image stabilization. Nothing worth mentioning.

Dimage A200 I love, love, love my little camera. It was smaller than I expected, but when I got used to it I just love the size.

The camera was defective with a bad LCD. i had to send it back to Minolta to be fixed. newegg would not exchange. In the product listing.

Got this camera new at ebay a few days ago. Have tested it. Decided to send it back. Camera feels a bit cheap, too much plastic. Very nice product and good introduction to SLR. 28-200 zoom, Manual control, Many Features, LCD rotate, RAW. Image stabilization is very helpful. Dynamic range is very good; underexposing by .3 to .6 stop.

After ditching a large assortment of full-size Nikon gear -- several bodies, half a dozen lenses, etc. Lens, resolution. Insane complexity, worthless for action photography, night/flash pictures are usually junk

This competent 8-megapixel camera sacrifices the great EVF and the speed of the Dimage A2 but keeps the rest. Versatile flip-and-swivel LCD.

i got mine for $400 with a 5 year warranty, a...  excellent images, flexible options requires lots of manual adjustments

This firmware is for use only with the DiMAGE A200 and cannot be used with other products. If the firmware version is already Ver.1.01, it is not necessary to update the firmware. (Use the following method to check the firmware version.)

Press the display information button (3). A window will open to indicate the firmware version. 4. Check the version number of displayed on the LCD monitor. If the version is Ver.1.00, the camera must be updated. Press the central button of controller to close the version number display.
Preparing the compact flash card for updating
A downloaded file must be copied to a CompactFlash (CF) card in the camera. Before updating the camera, read the data-transfer section of the DiMAGE A200 instruction manual to connect the camera to a computer. Prepare a 16MB or larger CompactFlash card and insert it in the camera. Make sure that the CompactFlash card has been formatted by the camera. Using the USB cable, connect the camera to a computer. If the camera is not compatible with the computer system, a CompactFlash card reader can be used instead. Confirm the option Transfer mode in section 1 of the setup menu is set to Data storage, the default setting.

How to update firmware

Note: When performing the software update, use fully charged lithiumion batteries or the AC adapter AC11 (sold separately).
