DSC-T300

PRELIM
Cyber-shot Digital Still Camera
The Sony DSC-T300 offers excellent performance and a stylish, elegant design. It includes Smile Shutter technology to help capture smiles automatically as they happen6 , as well as Face Detection technology to optimize focus, exposure and color for up to eight faces. The compact body features 10.1 megapixel resolution and a wide 3.51 touch-screen LCD for easy operation. The DSC-T300 completes the package with a Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom lens and Sonys Double Anti-Blur solution, for crisp, clear images. 10.1 MP Super HAD CCD More megapixels give you more detail and definition when you make big prints or crop in tight on your subject. The advanced Sony Super HAD (Hole Accumulated Diode) CCD design allows more light to pass to each pixel, increasing sensitivity and reducing noise. Carl Zeiss 5X Optical Zoom Lens 5X optical zoom gives you the power to get even closer to the action -- a real benefit for distant landscape views and dramatic portraits. 3.51 Widescreen Clear Photo LCD Plus Display A huge 3.51 widescreen Clear Photo LCD Plus LCD display includes an anti-reflective coating that provides for excellent visibility to help you compose, view, and share photos with superb clarity and color reproduction, even in bright sunlight. 15 MB2 Internal Memory 15MB2 Internal Memory --- Even if you forget your flash memory card, you can get the shot because 15MB2 internal memory lets you capture a limited number of shots with in-camera convenience, then easily transfer your shots to a PC or optional Memory Stick Duo media/Memory Stick PRO Duo. Memory Stick Duo Media Convenience A built-in slot accepts optional Memory Stick Duo media or Memory Stick PRO Duo media -- the compact, highcapacity storage media that make it easily to upload photos to your PC and are compatible with millions of devices worldwide. 16:9 High-Resolution Mode In addition to the standard 2megapixel size, the convenient 16:9 aspect ratio shooting mode for HDTV 3 display can now be shot in 7megapixels, making it possible to obtain beautiful, high-definition prints with the same aspect ratio as HDTV. HDTV Compatibility3 High-resolution images can be enjoyed in all their beauty simply by connecting the camera directly to a Sony BRAVIA HDTV or other compatible HDTV3. This provides an excellent alternative to viewing photos as prints or on a computer monitor, and is ideal for users who want to share photos in the comfort of their living room. Optional HD solutions include a Cyber-shot cradle/charger with component cable output, or component cable directly to your HDTV. Automatic Macro Shooting Standard Auto Focus now covers the macro focus range, eliminating the need to manually change focus modes for close-up photography. The Macro mode has not been eliminated, and enabling it accelerates Auto Focus when shooting at point-blank range. Burst Mode You can fire off up to one hundred (100) shots at Approx.0.64 second intervals (at any resolution: VGA to full resolution mode) -- a great way to capture a childs first steps or a pets best tricks. Notes on using the camera
[ Internal memory and Memory Stick Duo back up
Do not turn off the camera, remove the battery pack, or remove the Memory Stick Duo while the access lamp is lit. Otherwise, the internal memory data or Memory Stick Duo may be damaged. Be sure to make a backup copy to protect your data.
[ Notes on the LCD screen
The LCD screen is manufactured using extremely high-precision technology so over 99.99% of the pixels are operational for effective use. However, some tiny black and/or bright dots (white, red, blue or green) may appear on the LCD screen. These dots are a normal result of the manufacturing process, and do not affect the recording. If water droplets or other liquids splash on the LCD screen and make it wet, immediately wipe off the screen with a soft cloth. Leaving liquids on the LCD screen surface can harm the quality and cause a malfunction.
[ Notes on recording/playback
Before you start recording, make a trial recording to make sure that the camera is working correctly. The camera is neither dust-proof, nor splashproof, nor water-proof. Read Precautions (page 37) before operating the camera. Avoid exposing the camera to water. If water enters inside the camera, a malfunction may occur. In some cases, the camera cannot be repaired. Do not aim the camera at the sun or other bright light. It may cause the malfunction of the camera. Do not use the camera near a location that generates strong radio waves or emits radiation. Otherwise, the camera may not properly record or play back images. Using the camera in sandy or dusty locations may cause malfunctions. If moisture condensation occurs, remove it before using the camera (page 37). Do not shake or strike the camera. It may cause a malfunction and you may not be able to record images. Furthermore, the recording media may become unusable or image data may be damaged. Clean the flash surface before use. The heat of flash emission may cause dirt on the flash surface to become discolored or to stick to the flash surface, resulting in insufficient light emission.

[ On image data compatibility
The camera conforms with DCF (Design rule for Camera File system) universal standard established by JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association). Sony does not guarantee that the camera will play back images recorded or edited with other equipment, or that other equipment will play back images recorded with the camera.

[ Warning on copyright

Television programs, films, videotapes, and other materials may be copyrighted. Unauthorized recording of such materials may be contrary to the provisions of the copyright laws.
[ No compensation for damaged content or recording failure
Sony cannot compensate for failure to record or loss or damage of recorded content due to a malfunction of the camera or recording media, etc.

turns off automatically to prevent wearing down the battery pack. Turn on the camera again (page 13). The battery pack is dead. Replace it with a new one.
The remaining charge indicator is incorrect.
This phenomenon occurs when you use the camera in an extremely hot or cold location. A discrepancy arose between the remaining charge indicator and the actual remaining battery
charge. Fully discharge the battery pack once, then charge it to correct the indication.
The battery pack is discharged. Insert the charged battery pack (page 10). The battery pack is dead. Replace it with a new one.
The battery cannot be charged while inside the camera.
You cannot charge the battery pack using the AC Adaptor (not supplied). Use the battery
