|Nokia N97 has tons of features and it is offered as an unlocked phone. But the OS is outdated. The phone has major software and hardware faults. I have had so much bad experience witht his phone I built a site dedicated to it at dontbuyn97.|

|If you are looking to use your phone to play video games, look elsewhere, otherwise, this phone is a multimedia powerhouse. software is outdated. sybian is pretty good but needs a wake up call if they want to compete with other phones out there.|

Recording to the Roland KR-277 (Piano Lab)
Thanks to Roland Keyboards technology, you can record yourself playing a song and turn it into your teacher on a floppy disk. Here are some simple step by step instructions to record on the Roland keyboard.
FORMAT YOUR FLOPPY DISK
This step only needs to be done once, the first time you use a disk for recording on the Roland keyboards. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Bring all your music and one floppy disk to the room 018E in the PAC. Make sure the MTLC-16 Mixer Power is turned on. The Power button is a small black round button located in rear of the back right corner. Turn the Power On by pressing the [Power] button located on the left hand side of the keyboard. Insert the floppy disk face up into the disk drive located above the right hand side of the keyboard. Press the Disk button. Press the [Tempo ? ] Button twice until the 3: Disk Format screen appears. Press the [Transpose/Enter] button. The screen will then read Clear Disk OK? As long as it is ok to clear the disk press [Transpose/Enter] button. Window will read: Formatting Count Down from 80 to 0.
RECORD YOUR PERFORMANCE TO THE ROLAND
In order to record a performance to disk, you must first record it to the Roland keyboard. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Press the [Song] button. Press the [Style] button and the Value [+] and [-] to choose a tone color (instrument). Press the [Tempo ? ] button and the Value [+] and [-] buttons to adjust the tempo. Press the [Beat ? ] and the Value [+] and [-]buttons to adjust the time signature. Press the [Record ?] button. You should see flashing lights on the rhythm, whole, bass/accomp, lower, and upper buttons. Press the [Play ? ] button. You will receive a 2 measure count off. Play your song. Press the [Stop ] button when you are finished.
PLAYING YOUR PERFORMANCE
After playing a performance most likely you will want to hear how it sounded to judge if you should record it again. After recording your performance to the Roland. 1. 2. 3. Press the [Reset ] button. Press the [Play ? ] button. Press the [Stop ] button.
M ULTI-TRACK RECORDING
1. 2. 3. Press the [Song] button. Press the [Beat? ] button and the Value [+] and [-] buttons to adjust beat. Press the [Tempo? ] button and the Value [+] and [-] buttons to adjust tempo.

Press the [Menu] button. The screen should display 1:16Tr Sequencer. Press the [Transpose/Enter] button to display the 16trk screen. Each of the little dashes represents one of the sixteen tracks available. Track 1 only records piano instruments. Use track ten for all percussion tracks. Press the Value [+] and [-] buttons to select desired sound from the tone family. Press the [Transpose/Enter] button. st Press the [Metronome] button so you have a steady beat on your first track. (1 time only) Press the [Record ?] button. Press the [Play? ] button and after a two measure count-in record your piece. Press the [Stop ] button to end recording. st Press the [Metronome] button to stop the metronome. (1 time only) Press the [Reset ] button. Press the [Transpose/Enter] button to go back to the 16trk screen. Use the [Beat? ] and [Tempo? ] buttons to select the next track. Repeat steps 6-15 as needed. th a. When recording Rhythm tracks select the 10 track from the 16trk screen. b. Press the [Transpose/Enter] button to display P10 ? Standard on the screen. c. Press the Value [+] and [-] buttons to change the type of drum set. d. Press the [Transpose/Enter] button to apply the type of drum set. e. The pictures above the piano keys display the percussion sound of each key. f. Continue with steps 9-14. When you are completely done recording tracks press the [Song/Exit] button.
1. 2. 3. To erase what you have recorded to the Roland keyboard, press the [Record] button and the Track number button (located underneath rhythm, whole, bass/accomp, lower, and upper buttons). Press the [Record ?] button. Press the [Play ? ] Button.
RECORDING TO FLOPPY DISK
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Press the [Disk] button. Press the [Tempo ? ] button once until you see 2:Save as SMF. Press the [Transpose/Enter] button to display the following screen. 1: New Song. Use the [Beat? ] and [Tempo? ] buttons to move the cursor to the left and right to create a unique title for your piece. Use the Value [+] and [-] to select letters and numbers. Press the [Transpose/Enter] button to display the screen 1. New Song SMF Save Ok? Press the [Transpose/Enter] button to save the song.
PLAY FROM DISK
1. 2. 3. Insert disk into floppy disk drive. Press the [Song] button. Press [Play? ].
1. 2. Remove your floppy disk from the disk drive. Make sure your Roland keyboard and the mixer is turned off.
