| Small, light Battery life not as long as expected. When fast forwarding or rewinding cannot hear speech Easy to use for the basic functions, battery life is significantly good. For me the recording time of 20 hours is more than enough. | |

INVESTIGATION REPORT Team 2
Investigation Site Investigation Date Report By Team Members Nettleden 18th March 2011 Stephanie Lawn Steph, Marion, Sarah and Dee
Initial Walk
Dees notes: We walked up a fairly steep hill on a muddy track. With a severely impaired hip and wholly unsuitable footwear, this was quite a feat for me! When we passed the crest of the hill, near some farm field gates, we began to descend into a stone-lined cutting. I felt incredibly uncomfortable quite suddenly, as though I had walked through an invisible wall, approximately 20 metres or so past the crest of the hill. The feeling did not leave, but lingered, as we all stopped another 20 or so metres down the cutting. At this point the walled sides were very high and treelined. I had the distinct feeling that we were being watched, but could not sense an individual or any particulars about the area. I did rationalise that the unease was likely to be psychological due to the almost claustrophobic feel of the cutting and the psychology associated with the descent into darkness. It was from this point that the Bridge Experiment was conducted. This experiment is detailed in a separate report. The route followed is shown on the plan on the right. Marions notes: There was a lot of noise from the field of sheep as the team walked from the bridge to the top of Roman Road but above this noise Marion heard the voice of the man she had picked up under the bridge. He said How did this happen? This was another reference to Marions walking stick. Marion replied I fell down the stairs.

Investigation Site Investigation Date Nettleden 18th March 2011
Roman Road
Vigil: Top of Hill 21.55 to 22.25
Dee positioned herself opposite Sarah, facing towards the start of the descending cutting from whence we had just done the Bridge Experiment. Prior to this vigil, Dee had been very conscious of hearing noises at the crest of the hill from where the LPS members were gathered for the Bridge Experiment. In fact, both Dee and Steph heard a loud noise up by the gates at 21.29. However, once at the crest of the hill and settled for the vigil, Dees initial feelings were surprisingly of calm and at peace. For the positions of the team members see the plan on the right. 21:55 Steph measures temperature as -3C. the
Sarah had dead man walking come to mind. Sheep baaing. There was a knock in the trees. Sarah also heard Move! Coming through! There was a dog barking and cars and a train could be heard. 21:56 Steph hears sheep bleating to her right. 21:57 Marion picks up the word gentlemen. 21:59 Marion hears a whistling trill to her right, a little way down Roman Road. 22.00 Dee feels very calm like she is sitting in a church; she can almost smell incense. A distant dog starts to bark. 22:01 Steph is sat facing down Roman Road, she feels like she is being pulled back down to the bridge as is she needs to go back down there. 22:02 Marion hears the words Can I help you? in an enquiring manner as if he is wondering what she is doing there. Marion replies Thank you but Im ok. 22.04 Dee hears a crack in the tree to Sarahs left. Nettleden Team 2 Report 18-03-2011.doc 2 of 4 27/03/2011 02:15
22:05 Sarah could smell tar. Sarah kept seeing the roman numerals IX in the grass next to her chair. 22:06 Marion gets the name Susie and Pollock. 22:07 Marion hears a man with a Yorkshire accent say Its gradely which she thinks means its fine, nice or grand in Yorkshire dialect. She can also hear voices of people talking. 22:10 Sarah saw a black movement small and low near to her feet, but heard no sound. Sheep baaing and pigs snorting. Dee hears Steph shuffle loudly. Dee hears bird noises that sound more like turkeys than waterfowl! 22:13 Stephs legs suddenly feel extremely cold. She measures the temperature as -6C. Dee senses a small change in the atmosphere its fuzzier. 22:15 Dee notes that it feels colder; can feel the cold descending on us. Marions batteries in her voice recorder drain. All were checked and recharged prior to the investigation. 22:17 Steph sees a circular shape flicker on the path about 8 meters in front of her. Steph notes it was clear with a colourful sheen like a soap bubble. 22:19 Dee drops her small torch. 22:19 Sarah had people gone before come to mind and eyes watching from hedges. 22:21 Dee sees cupcakes in her minds eye! 22:22 Marion hears a sound to her right between herself and a holly bush (a gap of about half a metre). It sounded like someone trying to squeeze past her chair as she heard what sounded like the rubbing of stiff material as someone walks.
Devils Bridge
Vigil 2: The Bridge 22:45 to 23:15
Dee and Sarah have left the investigation, Steph and Marion sat just to the right in front of the bridge tunnel. For the positions of the team members see the plan on the last page. 22:45 Marion asks Stephen (her guide) if the man will come and talk to her. Marion says hello to the man she picked up earlier and asks him if he can speak in to the red light of her recorder and tell her his name. She tells him her name is Marion and that the other woman is her daughter Stephanie. Neither of them is frightened of him and he shouldnt be frightened of them, so will he come and talk to her. The new batteries in her voice recorder have drained again so Marion gives up with them. 22:47 Steph measures the temperature as 0C. 22:48 Steph hears what sounded like a stone being thrown against the wall under the bridge to her right.
3 of 4
22:52 Marion hears the man say her name and when she answers Yes? he says Youre lovely to which she replies Thank you. Marion asks him why he stays under the bridge and he answers They killed meI wouldnt do what they wantedthey knifed me. Marion is starting to feel quite upset by his sadness. Marion feels this is where he must have died, covered in blood. Marion tells him he doesnt have to stay here, he can leave. He can look for the light and go and find his family and loved ones. After a short pause he says Can I? in a very gentle and questioning way; Can I do that? Marion is feeling very emotional and now says Yes you can. You dont have to stay here. Marion then gets the name Malcolm. 22:56 Steph feels that the area around the bridge is peculiar but also feels that there was something to do with love and passion here, like two lovers who met in secret. 22:57 Marion gets Praetorian Guard and gypsies. 23:00 Marion hears her guide Stephen say Hes gone Marion. Marion feels everything has gone flat and he has gone. 23:06 Steph notes cold air coming down Roman Road towards the bridge and measures the temperature as 0C.
