EPSONs new EPL-5900/EPL-5900L laser printers combine exceptional speed, excellent performance and quality with flexible paper handling (up to 750 sheets from two media sources) in an amazing easy to use package - all at minimal cost. The EPSON EPL-5900L is built for stand-alone users using Windows or Mac applications who want professional laser printed documents in a value for money package combining excellent results with minimum effort. The EPL-5900s additional features make it more suitable for use in networked environments, legacy systems or as a PostScript printer. Three specific configurations are available: EPL-5900 designed for workgroup users, EPL-5900N for networked PC environments, and the EPL5900PS, for Mac users requiring fully networked Postscript 3 support. Performance to suit your needs The EPL-5900/EPL-5900L share the same High speed printing engine of up to 12ppm ensuring that documents are printed quickly and efficiently as standard on all these printers. Fast, efficient job management is achieved on the EPSON EPL-5900 through a standard 200Mhz controller, and 8MB of memory (upgradeable to 136MB). For the EPL-5900L, a standard 2MB RAM is all thats required - the optimised printing system uses the memory in the host computer for processing. Data is compressed via your PC whilst decompression takes place in the printer.
Professional quality results The EPL-5900/EPL-5900L have been designed to offer the highest level of print quality making them particularly suitable for use in professional applications. The EPL-5900 offers true 1200dpi resolution to ensure text and graphics output at the highest quality while the EPL-5900L uses EPSONs RITech and Enhanced MicroGray 1200 resolution technologies to boost printed output from true 600dpi to 1200dpi class output as well as crisper, sharper text and smoother gradations of greys. Ease of use with low cost of ownership With extremely efficient operation, the EPSON EPL-5900/5900L are designed for ease of use. Clear, intuitive drivers utilising EPSONs latest, on-screen Status Monitor 3 and an on-printer Control Panel keep you constantly informed, while replacement of the pre-installed high capacity consumables is a simple, clean process. All these features ensure that the EPL-5900/EPL-5900L have a very low cost of ownership. Flexible paper handling Standard paper input capacities are 250 (EPL-5900) and 150 (EPL-5900L) sheets. An optional 500 sheet cassette for the EPL-5900, offers higher capacity and a choice of two media types (plain paper/letterhead). Low cost of ownership High capacity toner cartridges provide for demanding environments while high efficiency and exceptional reliability further enhance the low cost of ownership. A wide choice of interfaces Standard USB/Parallel interfaces ensure simple connection to Mac and PCs. The EPL-5900 is also available with an optional 10/100BaseTX Ethernet PC card (EPL-5900N) or an Adobe PostScript 3 kit for Macs (EPL-5900PS). Both are supplied with EPSONs remote network management system tools software.
