First let me say I am new to Linux but am c# developer in the windows world. I am wanting to play around with Mono, so I am trying to learn Linux. I recently purchased a new video card ("Asus Extreme AX800"). Its chipset is "ATI Radeon x800 PCIE VPU". It has dual dvi outputs. I have tried a number of the ATI X800 drivers but after I reboot. Well it won't reboot after I try them. I suspect that it's because those are AGP drivers, where as this is PCI express. (PS if someone could please give me instructions on how to roll back that xorg.conf.backup file I could stop reinstalling from scratch each time) The drivers it uses by default seem good enough for me, but I really would like to use the dual monitors, and suspect the only way I am going to get that is to install correct drivers (or perform some kind of voodoo on the config files). Any help would be appreciated, and for the most helpful I will erect a giant statue of a Superman and sacrifice squirrels at his feet in your name.
