Remove the original cooler on the VGA card and clean the grease.

STEP 1
Remove heat sinks on the memories if any. Caution : Please be careful while removing the original heat sink on the VGA card. GIGABYTE is not responsible to any loss caused during the removing process. According to the STEP number of the memories on the VGA card, to remove the sticker on the back of the heat sinks and paste on the memories.

Apply the STEP grease on the VGA chip appropriately.

To replace the cover, use the pincer compress the collapsible end of the push clips to slide out to remove the original cover and put on the new one by aligning the push clips with the lock holes on the cooler and pushed completely through the holes to lock it. ( as Figure D )

STEP 4

Tear off the STEP sticker on the copper base. ( as Figure E )

Lock the screws on the bracket
Please lock the screws on the appropriate positions. Figure G
Place the STEP cooler on the table and align the holes for the screws on the VGA card to the screws on the cooler.

Place the washers on STEP the screws and lock the nuts on the screws with screwdriver to fasten the cooler.
(as Figure H) To avoid the damage to the c h i p, p l e a s e l o c k t h e n u t s diagonally.
To complete STEP the installation, connect the power cord of the fan to the output of the power supply.

Legacy Driver Support for AMDs Older ATI Radeon

Graphics Accelerators

As of ATI Catalyst 9.4 (based on the 8.60 driver) to be released April 2009, AMD will move a number of older ATI Radeon graphics accelerators products to a legacy driver support structure. This change will impact Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Linux distributions. AMD is moving to a legacy software support structure to better focus development resources on future products and ensure driver stability for these mature graphics products.

Catalyst Web Releases:

The following products will be moved to the legacy software support structure: Desktop Graphics Products ATI Radeon 9500 Series ATI Radeon 9550 Series ATI Radeon 9600 Series ATI Radeon 9700 Series ATI Radeon 9800 Series ATI Radeon X300 Series ATI Radeon X550 Series ATI Radeon X600 Series ATI Radeon X700 Series ATI Radeon X800 Series ATI Radeon X850 Series ATI Radeon X1050 Series ATI Radeon X1300 Series ATI Radeon X1550 Series ATI Radeon X1600 Series ATI Radeon X1650 Series ATI Radeon X1800 Series ATI Radeon X1900 Series Integrated Chipset Products ATI Radeon Xpress Series ATI Radeon X1200 Series (AMD 690V) ATI Radeon X1250 Series (AMD 690G) ATI Radeon 2100 Series (AMD 740G)
The Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Linux Legacy ATI Catalyst drivers for the products listed above will be available for download from http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html. AMD may periodically provide Windows XP and Windows Vista driver updates for critical fixes only. No new enhancements will be provided in future driver updates. The Catalyst Linux Edition driver package will remain at release 9.3; no further changes will be provided. The Microsoft Windows 7 operating system will not be supported. Any customers using a combination of an ATI Radeon HD 2000 Series, ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series, or ATI Radeon HD 4000 Series product with any of the products listed above in a single PC system must use the ATI Catalyst 9.3 or earlier driver. All future ATI Catalyst releases made available past the ATI Catalyst 9.3 release will not include support for these products or any of their associated features.

The Windows XP and Windows Vista drivers for the products listed above will be available in a maintained driver branch from the 8.593 release. The Linux graphics drivers will be frozen as of Catalyst Linux Edition 9.3 and will not be maintained in the 8.593 driver branch. AMD will provide Windows XP and Windows Vista driver updates for critical fixes only and to support program launches and refreshes. No new features will be provided in this driver branch. The Catalyst Linux Edition driver package will remain at release 9.3; no further changes will be provided. The Windows 7 operating system will not be officially supported. However, the current Windows Vista WDDM1.0 driver is expected to be fully compatible with Windows 7 and should work as is. Microsoft has recently changed their logo policy for Windows 7 to allow DX 9 products to obtain the Windows 7 logo until December 2009. If specific customer programs require a certified driver for the products listed above, AMD will consider these requests on a program-by-program basis. Please contact your product management representatives as early as possible to discuss this support. Please note that due resource limitations and delays in obtaining the official Windows Logo Kit, Windows 7 certified drivers for the products listed above may not be available until after the launch of the new Windows 7 operating system. Any customers using a combination of an ATI Radeon HD 2000 Series, ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series, or ATI Radeon HD 4000 Series product with any of the products listed above in a single PC system must use the 8.593 driver branch. All future driver releases starting from 8.60 will not include support for these products or any of their associated features.
