How to Replace the PF Kit (HL2460/HL2460N/HL7050/HL7050N) Part 1 - Replacing the Paper Pick-up Roller
To prevent electric shock, always turn the printer off and disconnect the power cord
from the AC outlet/socket before cleaning the printer or performing maintenance. Before you replace the feed roller, turn the power switch off, unplug the AC power cord and allow the printer to cool for at least 30 minutes before replacing the feed roller.

Step 1

Take the Lower Paper Tray out to expose the Paper Pick-up Roller, as shown. (Figure 1)

On the left hand side of the Paper Pickup Roller there is a White Tab as shown. (Figure 2) Figure 1.

Step 3

Pull the Tab towards yourself and move the Paper Pick-up to the left to Release it. (Figure 3)

Step 4

Insert the New Paper Pick-up Roller and clip it into place. (Note: this roller can only be fitted one way). (Figure 4)

Part 2 - Replacing the Separation Pad
The Lower Paper Tray should already be out of the machine. Place the tray on a flat surface. (Figure 5)
Locate the Separation Pad, which is at the front on the Lower Paper Tray. (Figure 5) Figure 5.
Un-clip the Separation Pad by lifting it upwards. (Figure 6)

Remove the Separator Pad (Figure 7), but leave the Spring in the Tray as shown below. (Figure 8)

Step 5

Install the New Separation Pad by clipping it into place and pushing down to secure it. (Figure 9)

Step 6
To ensure the Separator Pad is installed correctly press it down and release. It should return to its original position. If not repeat from Step 3. (Figure 10)

Step 7
Now you need to reset the PF Kit Counter, to do this press the GO and + buttons together until "Reset Parts Life" is displayed. Now press the + button until PF Kit 1 or 2 is displayed and press SET. The Counter will now be reset.

Step 8

Print a test page by depressing the set button three times.
