No Comment. Great inexpensive laser printer. A little slow. Toner cartridges are expensive. This is the 4th Brother Laser Printer I've purchased. All different models and they are great, reliable.

The Brother HL-1030 Laser Printer represents excellent value for money and produces excellent print outs at an affordable cost. I bought this printer about three years ago because I wanted a machine that would produce good quality black and white prints.

After it finished its first toner cartridge, i was very happy with it. But then when i bought a new toner cartridge, and put it in. I got this printer for $90 after rebate. No problems at all during install or initial use. No more paper curl than any home Laser printer.

Great for college Before freshman year started, my parents and I bought this printer along with a laptop so that I could take it to college. A warehouse work-horse that lasted for years.

Brother support techs lied directly about the power consumption problem and were evasive about providing information on the rapid failure of the toner... fast shipping by new egg: ordered Wednesday evening, received Friday afternoon.

"This was a highly recommended printer for home office users; the print quality and speed were good, though not out of the ordinary. "I was tired of going through inkjet cartridges. I purchased this printer for home and school use.

1 - 45 ABOUT THIS PRINTER
Paper orientation for manual duplex printing
The printer prints the second page first. If you print 10 pages on 5 sheets of paper, it will print page 2 then page 1 on the first sheet of paper. It will print page 4 then page 3 on the second sheet of paper. It will print page 6 then page 5 on the third sheet of paper, and so on. When doing manual duplex printing, the paper must be put in the paper tray in the following way: For the manual feed tray or the multi-purpose (MP) tray: Put the side to be printed on first, face-up, with the leading edge (top) of the paper in first. To print the second side, put the paper face down, with the leading edge (top) of the paper in first. If letterhead paper is used, this would be put in with the heading face down, and in first. To print the second side, put the heading face up and in first. For the upper paper tray and the optional lower tray (tray1 or tray2): Put the side to be printed on first, face down, with the leading edge (top) of the paper at the front of the tray. To print the second side, put the paper face up, with the leading edge (top) of the paper at the front of the tray. If letterhead paper is used, this would be put in the paper tray with the heading face up, and at the front of the tray. To print the second page, put the heading face down and at the front of the tray. For Thicker paper that has curled once the first side has been printed on, and you cannot feed the paper for the second time from manual feed tray or MP tray to allow the other side of the paper to be printed on: At the back of the printer, open the face-up output tray and push down the blue tabs on the left and right hand sides (as shown in the figure below). When you have finished printing, close the face-up output tray to reset the two blue tabs back to their original position.
