Brother has taken their new Color Inkjet Multi-Function Center machines to a higher level of performance and value with the MFC-5440CN and MFC-5840CN flatbed models. These featurerich machines offer consumers more for their money. These models were built to meet the needs for a home office, or a small to medium size business. Each model bundles together all the features, speed, flexibility, and connectivity necessary to meet todays, and tomorrows, communication and imaging needs.

Color Printer

Brother printing technology delivers high-quality printing of photos or documents with resolutions up to 6000 x 1200 dpi on glossy paper and at speeds up to 20 ppm for monochrome and 15 ppm for color. They are compatible with Windows and Mac Operating Systems. They also include both USB 2.0 Full Speed and Ethernet interfaces, so when they are connected to your wired or wireless router, you can share many of these MFCs powerful features including color printing.

Flatbed Color Copier
These models offer fast and crisp color or black and white copies with resolutions of up to 1200 x 1200 dpi at speeds of up to 17 cpm in B&W or 11 cpm in color. In addition, you can enjoy the vast range of copy options including reduction or enlargement from 25% to 400%, multi-copying of up to 99 copies, and collating. You also have the option of using the Automatic Document Feeder to make legal-size copies, or the versatile flatbed design for making copies of single sheets from bound material such as textbooks and magazines. These models can be used as stand-alone copiers No PC required!

Color Fax

Both models have the ability to send and receive faxes in either color or B&W without a PC. Just a few of the impressive fax features include speed dial, remote fax retrieval, delayed fax transmission and fax forwarding. The MFC-5440CN includes a super G3 33.6K bps fax modem with 8MB of memory that will store up to 200 pages,* and the MFC-5840CN includes ample memory of 16MB for up to 480 pages.* MFC-5840CN

PC Fax Color Scanner

Quickly scan a document or image with a scanning resolution of up to 19,200 dpi. Its quick and easy to scan images or text to E-mail, OCR, or a file. Both machines include ScanSoft, PaperPort, and OmniPage OCR software for Windows and Presto! PageManager software for Macintosh environments. And with these MFCs connected to your network, you can scan directly to any computer on the network. You can send and receive faxes right from an application on your PC. Just select the fax driver, in place of the printer driver, choose the person or group you want to send the fax to and the fax is sent automatically. When connected to a network, send faxes from any computer on the network. (See System Requirements for more information.)

The MFC-5840CN is the perfect companion to your digital camera. The conveniently located media card slots on the front of the machine will accept the following media cards: Memory Stick CompactFlash Smart Media xD-Picture Card Secure Digital You can download photos and print them directly from the media cards print an index sheet to preview your photos and print selected photos in a variety of sizes. The media card works just like another drive on your computer to access or store your photos.

Network PhotoCapture!
