Installing Canon PowerShot A200 LCD Display

After the case has been removed, we can remove the LCD Display. If the LCD Display has cracked, or stopped working in any other way, replacing it can solve your problem.

Step 1 - disassembly Case
Remove the two (3mm) screws on the bottom of the camera.

Remove two (3mm) screws on the lens of the camera. One is underneath the rubber cover.

Open the battery cover by sliding it in the direction of the arrow. Remove the two (3mm) screws next to the memory card slot.

Step 4

Open the inner battery cover by pressing the grey tab and lifting the black cover. Remove the two (3mm) screws next to the battery slots.

Step 5
Gently pull the case apart.

Step 6

Gently pull on the black tabs on either side of the white ribbon using the plastic prying tool. The ribbon will then easily slide out of the connection.

Do the same with the black tabs on either side of the orange ribbon.

Step 8

Your camera is now separated into two pieces.

Step 9 - LCD Display
The LCD display is located in the back case of the camera. Remove the four (3mm) screws surrounding the LCD display.

Step 10

Lift the LCD display away from the back case using the plastic opening tool. Desolder the displays connection to the back board of the camera.

Take out old, dead, batteries. Then replace them with new ones.

Step 1 - Batteries
Tilt the camera until this side is facing up. Gently push on the outer batter case to pop it open. It should now look like this.

Step 2

You will now see a second battery cover. Push down on the latch, and pop it open. The batteries should now be easily accessible to remove.

Step 3
After removing the batteries, insert new batteries. (make sure they are facing the correct direction) Now push the inner cover down to secure the batteries in place. Push down and forward on the outer cover to secure the latch. Your camera will now be fully charged.
