Connecting the Epson DM-D110 Customer Display
This procedure explains how to install the Epson DM-D110 USB customer display to work with Eagle for Windows. All OPOS devices must be installed and configured by the OPOS ADK prior to using them as a device option with Device Configuration. (Estimated installation time: 10-30 minutes)

Overview

Installing an OPOS device requires several steps be completed prior to the operation of the device. Once completed, adding or changing of new Epson devices will not require re-installation of the OPOS ADK utility. Steps 3 & 4 will be covered by this document; the initial steps are documented separately in the document EPSON OPOS ADK Installation Procedures (document EL2151). NOTE: Step 1 & 2 MUST be completed prior connecting the device. Step 1 Installing the OPOS ADK configuration utility Step 2 Installing the Service Pack. (Includes the latest device information) Step 3 Plugging in the device Step 4 Configuring the device.
Plugging in the Device (DM-D110 Customer display pole)
1. Install the OPOS ADK configuration utility if you havent done so already (see document EL2150). 2. Open and assemble the DM-D110 display pole according to manufacture instructions. 3. Connect the DM-D110 USB cable into an available USB Port on your POS PC. 4. The Windows Found New Hardware dialog box should display shortly after plugging in the new display pole. Select No, not this time to Windows update search, if it displays. 5. Select Install from a list or specific location then click Next. 6. Select Search for the best driver in these locations, then select only Include the location in this search. 7. Enter the path of c:\3apps\Catapult\Drivers\Epson\DM-D110\Rev01 in the search field, then select Next. 8. Select Continue Anyway on USB driver installation (if it displays). 9. Select Finish to complete USB driver installation.

10. The Found New Hardware dialog box should display; Select No, not this time to Windows update search. 11. Select Install from a list or specific location, then click Next. 12. Select Search for the best driver in these locations, then select only Include the location in this search. 13. Enter the path of c:\3apps\Catapult\Drivers\Epson\DM-D110\Rev01 in the search field, then select Next (This path may very depending on your hardware profile or operating system). 14. Select Continue Anyway on USB driver installation (if it displays). 15. Select Finish to complete the Serial driver installation.
Identifying the Communications Port
The DM-D110 Customer Display driver assigns a communications port to the device during the driver installation. The communications port will vary between systems, so you must identify which port was assigned to your device on your system. You can identify which port was assigned by looking at the Windows Device Manager program. 1. Locate and highlight the My Computer icon from the Start Menu or Desktop of your PC, then right-click your mouse (left click for left-handed configured mice).
2. Select Properties from the menu, then select the Hardware tab. 3. Click the Device Manager selection (a hardware listing displays). 4. Expand the Ports section by clicking on the + to the left of Ports. 5. Locate the Device named USB Edition of the DM-D110. 6. Write down the Port assigned to the USB Edition of the DM-D110 located to the right of the device name (e.g. COM3). 7. Close Device Manager and System Properties dialog box.

Configuring the Device

1. Launch the Epson OPOS ADK configuration utility (if it isnt already open) by clicking Start -> Programs ->OPOS ->SetupPOS Ver2.00 2. Expand all the devices by clicking on the + sign next to Device (left side of screen). 3. Expand the Line Display section by clicking on the + sign next to the device type. 4. Select Option, then port range settings from the menu. Set Maximum COM ports to 10 and select OK.

5. Click once to highlight the DM-D110 device. 6. Select Edit from the toolbar, then Communication settings. 7. Under COM port Settings, select the COM port you identified from the previous procedure (Identifying the comm. port). 8. Select CheckHealth Interactive at the bottom of the screen (Click Start to send message to display pole). The DM-D110 displays device information. 9. Close Check Health Dialog. 10. Select OK to the message. 11. Close the Epson OPOS ADK configuration utility.
Selecting the Device in Eagle for Windows Device Configuration
1. Launch the Eagle Browser from your desktop or start menu. 2. Select Utilities, then Device Configuration. 3. Select Consumer Display, then press F5. 4. Select Device, choose Epson DM-D110 Customer Display, USB, then select OK. 5. Select the Test button to run an Eagle for Windows display test. The test will ask you to send a test pattern to the display pole; please do so. Note: if the test fails, close and reopen Device Configuration and retry the test. 6. Close Device Configuration. The DM-D110 display pole is ready to use.
