Flash setting:
Autoflash (default setting) Flash fires automatcally when needed. Fill flash Use when light is behind subject or on cloudy days. No flash setting Flash does not fire. Use where flash is prohibited or when shooting a metallic or shiny surface.

Function Buttons
Press the Erase ( in Playback mode. Press the SFN ( button in Record mode to set image resolution. ) ) button to delete images

Preparing the Camera
Insert the wrist strap through the ring on the side of the camera. Push the opposite end of the strap through the loop and pull.
Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera.
Insert four AA-batteries into the compartment as shown.

Taking a Picture
You can take pictures using the optical viewfinder or using the LCD display. Use the optical viewfinder to save batteries. Use the LCD display when using the macro lens to take close-ups of subjects.
To take a picture:
Turn the camera on. Select the lens: Normal lens 18 - infiniti Macro lens 8 - 18 c Check the status panel. See the other side of this card for more information. d Turn on the LCD viewfinder or look through the optical viewfinder. Frame your subject. e Press the shutter button.

Transferring Pictures to Your Computer
Note: To transfer images, Polaroid PhotoMAX Image Maker Software must be installed on your computer.
1 Turn off your computer
and any peripherals (scanner, printer).
2 Connect the serial cable
to the serial port on your computer.
3 Connect the other end
to the serial port (DIGITAL) on the camera.
4 Connect one end of the
AC adapter to the AC adapter connector (DC IN 7V) on the camera.
5 Connect the other end
of the cable to an AC power outlet.
6 Turn on your computer. 7 Turn on your camera. 8 Double-click the PhotoMAX icon your
desktop to open the Polaroid PhotoMAX Image Maker Software
9 Click Get Photo. Click From Album or Camera. Click
Download from Camera.

Getting the camera ready
Load batteries
Open the battery compartment. Slide the cover lock to the unlocked position and push forward to open. Insert four AA batteries into the compartment.
Do not mix old batteries with new batteries, or different manufacturers batteries together.

You can take a photo using the optical viewfinder or the LCD display. Use the optical viewfinder to save battery power.

To connect using the serial cable
Flash range = 3ft -10 ft (1m - 3m)
1 Turn off your computer and all peripherals (scanner, printer). 2 Connect the serial cable to the serial port on the camera and then to your computer. 3 Connect the AC adapter to the AC power connection on the camera.

To extend battery life, use the AC adapter whenever possible or purchase rechargeable batteries. Connect one end of the AC adapter to the AC power connector on the camera. Connect the other end to a grounded electrical outlet.

Power switch
Wait until the green LED light appears. The camera is now focused and ready to take a photo. 4 Hold the camera steady and press the shutter button down firmly. The red LED light appears and the photo appears on the LCD display while it processes. Wait until the image is fully processed before taking another photo.
4 Plug the AC adapter into a grounded electrical outlet. 5 Turn on your computer. 6 Turn on your camera. 7 Double click the Polaroid PhotoMAX icon on your desktop.

Attach the wrist strap to the camera as shown.
Use the LCD display to frame photos when using the Macro lens setting. See the Users Guide (included in kit) for more information on changing camera settings. 1 Slide the power switch up to turn on the camera.
To connect using the USB cable
1 Connect the USB cable to the USB port on the camera and then to your computer.

Insert memory card
Turn the camera power off. Insert the memory card into the slot (with the label side of the card facing the rear of the camera). Use the clip to remove the memory card from the camera.
Do not insert or remove the memory card while the camera power is on.
Transferring photos to your computer
2 Slide the LCD display switch up to turn on the LCD display if needed. The are two ways of transferring digital photos to your computer. RS-232 Serial port connection. USB port connection. USB supported only for Windows 98. You can also purchase an optional external memory card reader. See your computer retailer for more information.
2 Connect the AC adapter to the AC power connection on the camera. 3 Plug the AC adapter into a grounded electrical outlet. 4 Turn on your camera. 5 Double click the Polaroid PhotoMAX icon on your desktop.
3 Wait until the flash has charged. The flash icon blinks on the Status panel display while the flash is charging. You cannot take a photo while the flash is charging.
