The AR-C262M can make two-sided copies and printouts when equipped with the optional duplex module and duplex Business Sum mar 2003 bypass/inverter unit, effectively reducing paper costs as well as saving filing space. Auto duplexing is available for paper weights up to 200 g/m2. This allows you, for example, to create impressive company brochures and business proposals by using thick paper for the cover.

The AR-C262M accommodates a wide range of paper sizes, from A6R (5 1/2" x 8 1/2") to A3 wide (12" x 18"). You can do A3 or 11" x 17" full-bleed printing onto A3-wide (12" x 18") paper, without loss of image area. And thanks to its tandem printing method, it can handle heavy paper stock up to 300 g/m2, overhead transparencies, and other types of paper, further expanding the range of printing applications. Multi-Page Enlargement divides an image onto separate sheets, allowing you to make poster-like copies up to A0 x 2 (44" x 68") in size. Image Repeat places multiples copies of an image onto a single sheet. Mirror Image makes a reverse image of the original ideal for printing on transfer paper to make T-shirt iron-ons and stickers. A3 Colour Network Scanning
The optional AR-NS2 Scanner Expansion Kit turns the AR-C262M into a full-colour network scanner that can be used with any Windows PC on the network. Converting any type of paper-based document, up to A3 (11" x 17") in size, into an editable digital file is as easy as making a copy. Seamlessly integrating paper-based documents and digital files makes it easy to share data and improve workflow.

LDAP Compatibility for Network Scanning
Built-in LDAP (lightweight directory access protocol) support eliminates the need to enter or register an entire e-mail address. Simply enter the first few letters of the recipients name and the AR-C262M displays a list of possible matches from names and email addresses on your companys LDAP server. This feature saves precious time and lets you avoid errors when typing e-mail addresses. After searching, selected addresses can be stored to the AR-C262Ms address book. And the integrated User Authentication function (see page 6) blocks unauthorised access by requiring the user to log in before searching for an address.

To keep others from seeing confidential documents as they are being printed out, the AR-C262Ms Print Hold function stores print data on its hard disk and withholds output until the user executes a print command from the operation panel. For added security, the Confidential Print function requires the user to enter in a PIN (personal identification number) at the machine before printing can begin.
Digital copier/printers or multifunction products can retain hundreds of pages of confidential information from previous jobs on their hard disks or internal memory. To prevent these sensitive records from being recovered by unauthorised persons, the optional Data Security Kit enables the AR-C262M to automatically erase confidential data after each job is finished. Whats more, all data that goes through the hard disk is automatically encrypted.

The embedded Network Interface provides highly secure operation by restricting access to the AR-C262M on your office network. Only PCs that have either their IP address or MAC (media access control) address registered are allowed to use the AR-C262M. Attempted access from an unknown IP or MAC address will be denied, preventing unauthorised use.

Environmentally Conscious Design
Conforming to the extremely high Nordic Swan environmental standards as well as the Energy Star programme, an international system identifying energy-efficient products, the AR-C262M has two levels of energy-saving modes to reduce or shut off electricity after a period of inactivity. These modes not only save running costs, but also help conserve natural resources and reduce environmental pollution. The AR-C262M uses chromium-free surface-treated steel sheet. A colour image stabilising system periodically monitors actual toner density and automatically makes adjustments to maintain image quality over a long period of time. This ensures consistent quality and minimum paper waste.

Data Security Kit Digital copiers, printers and multifunction products can retain hundreds of pages of confidential information on their hard disks or internal memory. The optional AR-FR20U Data Security Kit can not only encrypt this data, as it is written on the hard disk but will 'shred' the residual files by overwriting them seven times when they are no longer needed.

Secure Network Card The embedded Network Interface adds another level of security by restricting access to the AR-C262M to authorised employees only. Only users who have their IP address or MAC (media access control) address registered are allowed access, preventing unauthorised use.
