Driver Installation Procedures
[1] Before installing (IMPORTANT!)
Before installing the CDJ-400 driver software, please read the Software End User License Agreement. The CDJ-400 can be connected to a computer running one of the following operating systems: Windows Vista Home Basic/Home Premium/Business/Ultimate, or Windows XP Home Edition/Professional, or Windows 2000 Professional. It may be necessary to use the Windows update facility in order to install the most recent Service Pack. The driver installation program is provided in 11 languages (English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Russian, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), Korean, and Japanese). If using a version of Windows in another language, follow the onscreen instructions to select [English] as the language. You must have administrator privileges on your computer in order to install the driver software. Log in as the user set as the computers administrator before attempting driver installation. If any other Windows programs are running, close them before beginning driver installation. Before beginning driver installation, turn off the CDJ-400 power switch, and disconnect its USB cable from the computer. If the CDJ-400 is connected to a computer without installing the driver software, errors may occur on the users computer, depending on the computers software environment. If for some reason installation of the driver software is cancelled before completion, follow the procedures listed below to reinstall the software from the beginning.
When the [License] screen appears, read the Software End User License Agreement, click on the [I agree.] box, then click on [OK].
* If you do not agree with the terms of the Software End User License Agreement, click on the [Cancel] button to terminate the installation. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen. If the [Windows Security] message appears during installation, click on [Install this driver software anyway] to continue the installation process.

[2] Driver Installation

1 Download the CDJ-400 driver installation pack (CDJ400_#.###.exe) from the website (http:// www.prodjnet.com/support/), and after downloading it to your computer, double click on the file name (in the above, the #.### indicates the driver version). When the [Language Selections] menu appears, select [English], then click on [OK].

<For Windows XP>

If the [Hardware Installation] message appears during installation, click on [Continue Anyway] to continue the installation process.
* To interrupt the installation process, click on the [Cancel] button.

<For Windows 2000>

If the [Digital Signature Not Found] message appears during installation, click on the [Yes] button to continue the installation process.
During installation, if the computer displays the message [What do you want the wizard to do?] select [Install the software automatically (Recommended)], then click the [Next] button to continue installation.
When installation is completed, the [Installation is now complete.] message will appear. Click on the [Finish] button to complete the process.
[3] Connect CDJ-400 to computer
Using the USB cable, connect the CDJ-400 to your computer, then set the CDJ-400s power switch to ON. When the CDJ-400 is first connected to a computer, or after reconnecting the computers USB cable, the computer may display the [Found New Hardware Wizard]. In this case, follow the instructions displayed.
During the installation process, if the computer displays the message [Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for software?] select [No, not this time], then click on the [Next] button to continue the installation process.
<For Windows 2000> If the [Digital Signature Not Found] message appears during installation, click on the [Yes] button to continue the installation process.
[4] Setting the buffer size
The CDJ-400 is equipped with functions as an audio device compliant with ASIO (Audio Stream Input Output) specifications. To adjust the buffer size of the device, click on the Windows [START] menu button, then [View All Programs] [Pioneer] [CDJ-400] [CDJ-400 ASIO Settings Utility].
* Setting the buffer size to a higher value will help prevent audio dropouts (interrupted sound), but the resulting audio data latency may result in increased time lags.

[5] To confirm driver version
To confirm the verson of the installed driver, click on Windows [START] button, followed by [View All Programs] [Pioneer] [CDJ-400] [CDJ-400 Version Display Utility].
