Traditionally located in centralized areas, wide format imaging systems used to require trained operators until now. The Ricoh 480W is designed to make copying and printing wide format documents so easy that virtually anyone can do it.
Everything is easily accessible from the frontpaper drawers, toner and controls. The backlit touch screen panel makes operation easy with minimal instruction. And with the hierarchical tool menus, even novices can select the functions they need on the first try. Changing paper on the Ricoh 480W is easier than any other wide format digital system in the industry. And to maximize the time between roll changes, the system has a standard two-roll tray and an optional two-roll drawer or two cut-sheet cassette trays. Innovative Document Server for Easy, Fast Storage and Retrieval
Wide format documents often need to be quickly available for making changes and additions. With the Ricoh 480Ws built-in document server, you can store up to 80 GBs of document data for up to 180 days eliminating the need to search through drawers for originals. Its an ideal location to store your documents, work and projects in progress.
Quickly edit, combine images, reduce or enlarge your documents, and stamp them before filing or retrieving for reprinting. If youre concerned about security, consider it solved: Just store your work by file name or user name, assign a password for access and your sensitive documents are protected from unauthorized users. Files can be password protected and held in memory until released by the owner for increased security, or stored for delayed printing or for print-on-demand applications.

Faster and Simpler Scanning for Document Sharing
By eliminating the costs of mailing and overnight delivery and allowing you to send documents almost instantly by e-mail, the optional embedded scanner on the Ricoh 480W can dramatically cut costs and improve service at the same time.
Scan-to-Email: Now you can scan your documents and send them immediately to anyone with an e-mail addressanywhere in the world. And the LDAP search capability lets you download unlimited recipient names directly from your companys existing e-mail system or corporate address book. Scan-to-Folder: Tired of looking through stacks of hard-copy documents for your latest revision? Scan-to-Folder makes storage and retrieval simple for all of your documents: you simply scan directly to a folder on the hard disk through either SMB or FTP protocol. Whats more, designated users on your LAN or WAN have the same ease of access to review and update your designs. Network TWAIN scanning: This driver solves the problem of what to do with old-style blueprints. It allows you to convert your blueprints into high-resolution black-on-white output by simply selecting diazo when you scan your originals.

Prevent unauthorized personnel from accessing secure files with Windows Authentication. Users are required to input their names and passwords before being given access to print specific files. Encrypt data until it is actually output, preventing attempts to intercept data during transmission. Overwrite latent images automaticallyimages that remain temporarily on the hard drive after any jobpreventing the possibility of recreating your work from the units hard drive.
