Topping the list for the most wanted coffee makers by consumers are espresso machines. And to provide a consumer guide for these popular coffee makers, Consumer Reports has released their ratings for top-rated espresso machines whose prices range from $230 to $1000. Consumer Report coffee makers product review of seven top coffee machines has yielded Nespresso Essenza Flowstop as the best espresso machine, gaining a top score of 81 out of 100. The taste of the espresso product -- both the coffee flavor and the froth -- of the machine has been rated excellent. The easy to use machine sells at $230 which is also the cheapest among the seven espresso makers.

Trailing only by five points, at 76 out of 100, is another Nespresso machine. The espresso maker provides equal convenient usage and remarkable coffee taste; however, it oddly costs higher at $300. The most expensive of all seven machines, Krups XP7230, is ranked third with 72 points. The $1000 machine makes very good tasting espresso with excellent milk froth. XP7230 also has a built-in coffee grinder and can make two cups of coffee at the same time. Though the top ranker in most online surveys, Saeco Incanto Rondo, lands fourth due to its poor froth quality. It also has a built-in grinder like XP7230 and can also make two cups simultaneously. The espresso maker sells at $900. Estro`s Starbucks Barista comes in fifth with 67 points though the froth and the coffee flavor have been rated as excellent and very good, respectively. The biggest nitpick of this espresso machine is its usage. Other reviews claim it is easy to use, but Consumer Reports` judges have attested otherwise. With just a point difference, Delonghi EC710 garners the sixth spot. Though it produces a very good espresso taste, the froth only tastes okay and it is also not that easy to use. Occupying the last place at 64 points is Krups 4050. Its inconvenient usage dragged down its very good and excellent ratings in taste and froth. Among all these seven famous machines that have been topping reviews, all failed to reach Consumer Reports` list of best coffee machines.
