As for the predecessors, the DP-600 is one of a kind. With a 80GB hard disk, the DP-600 offers you the possibility of storing content like music, video and pictures locally. Im only starting to write this Guide and I already wonder how many people will eventually read it. Will it break the record of the MPC Club Manual (269.000), and when? Not something we should break our head over right now but still funny if you get to think about it what an amount of people have used our guides before. Whats more important is that I can count on your respect for our work. Its not that the info written in this guide is not available on MPC Forums, its the fact we write these guides to make it easier for you, the Club member to find the info you need fast and can enjoy reading it more then you would, if read on the forums in wild text. That said, I count on you not spreading this and the other guides available in MPC Club Section as these serve a reward purpose for those that actually support our work over the years. This DP-600 Guide is only starting with these few pages but will be extended with new info as we go, and certainly, it will eventually become as big as the previous KISS Guide. It will contain Tips and Tricks for the DP600 we feel are easily forgotten, like codes for example, and the more advanced manipulations when they become available like Region Free flashing etc If you have any Tips and Tricks we could add to this guide, then we welcome you to send it to us by mail. We will then incorporate your Tips and Tricks in this guide. Now, before the intro becomes a dull read, all there is left to say for you to enjoy the reading and hopefully it will help you in case you need it. Enjoy Hi-Jack

MPC Released codes for players many times as the first! Some tricks provided will help you save time looking for solutions through complete reset of the player by simple codes that do the trick for you This guide is written by me. Obviously!
The Helpful Codes with the Default Button!
In the back of every KISS DP-600, you can find 2 little switches. Respectively the Reset and the Default buttons. These can help solve issues, like setting the player to Component while it is not connected with Component so you have no Image on TV. You can then easily restore it to another connection type with a code. This one, and more, you can find below! While pressing the "DEFAULT" button in the back of the player, PRESS remote NR.: 1 for reset TV output to NTSC 480i 2 for reset TV output to PAL 576i 9 for display advanced features menu These codes should help you with a few things, especially the last one, which is the Advanced Features Menu will allow you to some more fun stuff which is explained next. As always, feel free to play with these codes, they cant do any harm, but remember it will alter settings on the player so after running a few tests to see if it works (which it does), only use them if you really need them.
The Advanced Feature Menu: Fully Reset DP-600
Within the Advanced Menu you can use Once inside the Advanced Menu you can Fully reset the player to its default codes that will alter settings on your settings as shown in the picture below at the right side. When using this code, you DP-600. A few of these codes are known can run the Quick Setup again as if the player was never used. First enter the Advanced Menu by Pressing the Default button in the back of the DP-600, then enter ther NR 9 on your remote. This will result in the following Picture, shown at the left > This is where you enter the correct code.
The Advanced Feature Menu: Toggle Volume Type
Within the Advanced Menu you can use Once inside the Advanced Menu you can choose the Volume Type Displayed. codes that will alter settings on your The Code: DP-600. A few of these codes are known 436745 but surely many are still hidden, waiting to be found. We will add as many codes as we know in these section and update this section whenever needed. Toggle Volume of DP-600! KiSS has implemented a way for the end user to select how the Volume is being displayed. It will either go from 44 to0 or, if you choose to change it, from 0 to 100.
The Advanced Feature Menu: Reset FW Version
A third code is available which allows you to Reset the FW Version. The purpose would be, whenever you want to install the FW again from the online services, it will say No New FW Available while when using the reset, it will see the current version as a new version and install it on the DP-600. Within the Advanced Menu you can use codes that will alter settings on your DP-600. A few of these codes are known but surely many are still hidden, waiting to be found. We will add as many codes as we know in these section and update this section whenever needed.

Collection of Random Tips and Tricks
Since not so many tips and tricks are available yet, we can not add them to their respective categories yet but it should be fairly easy to find it as long as this guide remains small. Once it grows out of proportion, we will use Categories to make it easier for you.
WMV9 Playback with PC-Link!
It has been stated that KiSS PC-Link Application could not be used for streaming WMV9! Despite it is an easy assumption after you try loading WMV9 files into PC-Link, it is untrue. Here is what happens. The WMV extension is not shown by default in PC-Link and will most likely be adapted in a future release. Heres how you can make it work!
Now, we all know there are two types of WMV9, thos that are unprotected and those that are protected with DRM (Digital Rights Managment). In case you wish to try with DRM Protected files, please make sure you run them at least once on PC first to acquire a license. Without this actions, it wont play for sure :-)

Procedure:

Select Add Items and write *.* in the File name field, then select the file you wish to add! - The selected file will appear in the list of videos! - Now you should be able to play the WMV file on the KISS player from your PC. As it is not working perfectly with Windows Media Connect at this moment, this is the current best solution.
Commercial DVD Playback Problem HDMI and USB2 Tip!
Those who not understand HDCP well will eventually figure out what it is intended for. HDCP is a Chip inside the player that prevents your from Copying the source DVD while playing, much like CSS and Macro vision, only this time, it is a hardware chip and not just some written software. Now you might run into trouble, when using HDMI connection on your TV and end up with a black screen when you start playing a Commercial DVD. Not necessarily this is due to an issue with the player or DVD. The HDMI connection is obligated to use HDCP so you first need to verify the devices u are using both have HDCP. If not, it will only handle unprotected sources like copies of DVD and normal files. For commercial DVD, BOTH devices MUST have HDCP or it will not send a signal to the device. You can bypass this with making a Backup Copy of your DVD so it no longer matters rather your TV has HDCP or not. Most DVD Copiers remove Region Coding and Protection from the Backup Copy. Commercial DVD Skipping! During Playback of DVD Discs, it might happen the playback is not as stable as it should be. This can have multiple causes but the one most likely to be the case, is the USB2 being used by a Thumbstick or external HDD. Please remove any USB2 connection before playing any DVD discs in the KISS DP600 to prevent this from happenning. Alater update should fix this issue.
