Thanks to its predecessors, 2004 Aprilia RSV Mille is already well established. With its elegant lines designed for minimal air resistance and smooth riding, in combination with a reworked engine, it can hold its head high as one of the most exceptional combinations of performance and aesthetics on the market. Its tough to take your eyes off this sleek Italian beauty, and its presence is enough to make the hot-blooded Italian competition slightly uncomfortable. We are already well acquainted with its predecessor, so its logical that our R&D team would put the new model under the microscope. We have developed an Akrapovic EVOLUTION 2-2 complete exhaust system for the 2004 Mille. For those who want to get a little bit more out of an already excellent package, the Akrapovic EVOLUTION exhaust system will be well worth the investment. PERFORMANCE Measurements of the Akrapovic EVOLUTION system on the APRILIA RSV MILLE: Power: we said that the Akrapovic EVOLUTION exhaust system is a good investment. This can be seen very clearly from the power curve. The system is oriented towards higher power at the top of the rpm range, although extra power is available throughout the entire range. The engine breathes more freely and puts out quite a bit more power, as even less attentive riders will notice immediately. The maximum power of 130.2 HP is delivered to the rear wheel at 10000 rpm, while max. increased power is a huge 11.1 HP at 6000 rpm. Torque: the torque curve is even better. The drop-outs in the stock curve between 3200 and 3800 rpm and 5400 and 6400 rpm are almost completely eliminated. This indicates the systems excellent design and its compatibility with the Aprilia engine. Along with the filling of the drop-outs and the increased torque, the torque band itself is wider. This guarantees major amounts of torque no matter what the riding style. CONFIGURATION The Akrapovic EVOLUTION exhaust system is characterized by the material from which it is constructed. Most of the system is made of titanium, but for the Aprilia we decided to make the header tubes and collector out of stainless steel, while the link pipes are made of titanium. The high-quality stainless steel can cope with all the heat and vibration stresses which the Aprilia twin can produce. All of the tubes in the system are composed of conical elements, welded with filigree welds by our master welders which are an aesthetic pleasure to behold. Both header tubes are connected with free-floating joints to the intertwining spiral dual collector, which has interference crossover tubes on the interior. The collector and both header tubes have fittings for mounting lambda sensors. With the 2-2 configuration, the system continues with two conical link pipes, one on each side of the bike. All of the components the header tubes, link pipes and collector are held together using high-quality silicon-shielded Akrapovic tensioning springs. The 2004 Aprilia RSV Mille sports two mufflers at the tail end, which together with the integral signal lamp complex give it a completely different look from what we are used to among the competition. In contrast to the header assembly, the metal parts of the mufflers are made entirely of titanium. The outer sleeve is available either in the refined satin sheen of titanium or in the checkered racing pattern of carbonfiber. In either case neither the performance nor the sound is affected; the choice is purely aesthetic. The Akrapovic EVOLUTION system is also available with carbon-fiber chassis hanging brackets which replace the stock brackets. The carbon-fiber chassis hanging brackets ensure maximum stiffness and weight savings. The mufflers are mounted in a slightly higher position. When using the carbon-fiber chassis hanging bracket the passenger footrests cannot be used. As already mentioned, the aesthetic factor is never forgotten when designing our exhaust systems, The Akrapovic EVOLUTION exhaust system goes exceptionally well with the latest design of the racy Aprilia. Another important factor which goes along with the racing spirit of the motorcycle is minimum weight. At Akrapovic we achieve this by using top-quality materials and superior production techniques. The EVOLUTION system for the Aprilia will save you a massive 5.55 kg, a major plus for racing-oriented riders. And of course we shouldnt forget to mention the enhanced sound which the Aprilia twin will put out with our system installed. When you fire up the engine or ride by a crowd of people, with the Akrapovic EVOLUTION exhaust system you can expect to turn a few more heads than usual.
