The Xbox 360 Universal Remote and the Xbox 360 Media Remote include the Windows Media Center Start button (referred to as Start). If the Xbox 360 console is turned off, press Start to turn on the Xbox 360 console and start Windows Media Center. Networking and the Xbox 360
Use the Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter
You can connect the Xbox 360 console to an 802.11a or 802.11g wireless network by purchasing an Xbox 360 wireless adapter. The Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter is available through www.xbox.com. When using Windows Media Center, 802.11a wireless networks provide optimal bandwidth. 802.11a networks are also less likely to experience interference, providing better video quality. If you currently use an 802.11g wireless network for communication between computers and other devices on your home network, consider adding an 802.11a wireless network to provide clear bandwidth for using media with the Xbox 360 console.
Improve Network Performance
The Network Performance Tuner evaluates home network performance. The Tuner checks the bandwidth between the Xbox 360 console and a Windows Media Center-based PC, and makes suggestions that could increase the bandwidth. To use the Network Performance Tuner: 1. On the Windows Media Center-based PC, click Start. 2. Point to All Programs > Accessories > Media Center. 3. Click Media Center Extender Manager. 4. Select the Xbox 360 console from the list and then click Properties. 5. Click Network Performance Tuner.
Home Networks and High-Denition TV (HDTV)
Windows Media Center supports standard and highdenition video output on the Xbox 360 console. Network requirements for viewing high-denition video are greater than those required for standard video.
For the best high-denition video experience, connect the console to the network by using a wired (Ethernet) connection.
For more information about Xbox 360 and Windows Media Center, see Media Center Extender Help on the computer running Windows Media Center, after setup is completed.

Important Health Warning About Playing Video Games Photosensitive Seizures A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these photosensitive epileptic seizures while watching video games. These seizures may have a variety of symptoms, including lightheadedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, or momentary loss of awareness. Seizures may also cause loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking nearby objects. Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above symptomschildren and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these seizures. The risk of photosensitive epileptic seizures may be reduced by taking the following precautions: Sit farther from the screen; use a smaller screen; play in a well-lit room; and do not play when you are drowsy or fatigued. If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing.
When you play Scene It? Box Office Smash! using the Big Button Pad, different puzzle types will require you to use the controller in different ways. In some puzzles you first buzz in with the Big Button , while in others you simply answer using the A, B, X, and Y buttons. (See the Puzzle Types section for puzzle-specific instructions.)
ESRB Game Ratings The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) ratings are designed to provide consumers, especially parents, with concise, impartial guidance about the ageappropriateness and content of computer and video games. This information can help consumers make informed purchase decisions about which games they deem suitable for their children and families. ESRB ratings have two equal parts: Rating Symbols suggest age appropriateness for the game. These symbols appear on the front of virtually every game box available for retail sale or rental in the United States and Canada. Content Descriptors indicate elements in a game that may have triggered a particular rating and/or may be of interest or concern. The descriptors appear on the back of the box next to the rating symbol.

How to Play
Game Type
You can choose between Short Game (1520 minutes), Long Game (2530 minutes), or Custom Game.
Scoring
Correct answers are worth up to 2,000 points. All puzzle types display a timer bar at the bottom of the screen that shrinks as time ticks away. The faster you answer, the more points you score!
Joining the Game
After selecting a game type, press the Big Button to join the game, and then press X to sign into a profile or Y to change your character. When youre ready to play, press A. Once all players are ready, press the Big Button.
Rounds
Each game consists of three rounds, followed by Final Cut. Short Game rounds consist of three puzzle types per round. Long Game rounds are made up of five puzzle types per round.
Custom Play
If you choose Custom Game, you can customize the following options: PRESS THE BIG BUTTON TO ANSWER Choose between a mix of All Play and Buzz In puzzle questions or All Play questions only. POINT DEDUCTIONS FOR INCORRECT ANSWERS Turn penalties for wrong answers on or off. If on, a wrong answer in most puzzle types will cost you the points you would have earned for a right answer, based on time elapsed. (Score multipliers are not taken into account when calculating deductions.) GAME LENGTH Choose Short Game or Long Game. SOLO GAME Play by yourself. Made up of ten puzzle blocks; score multiplier increases for every correct answer in a row. CONTINUOUS MODE A casual trivia quiz, like at the theater before the movie starts. Great for parties! (Continuous Mode questions are All Play only.) RESET TO DEFAULTS Reset all custom settings to their original default values (identical to a standard Short Game). START Start your Custom Game with the selected settings.
Final Cut
Final Cut consists of four questions, each with a base value of 2,000 points. Your score multiplier increases with each consecutive correct answer, boosting your earning potential. Note! Incorrect answers or not answering drops your multiplier back to x1.
Round Highlights
At the end of each round, bonus points are awarded for special accomplishments, such as answering every question correctly or providing the fastest correct answer in that round. You can also earn bonus points for stealing an answer. This happens when another team buzzes in and then answers incorrectly, which prevents them from answering again and reopens the question to the remaining teams. Remember, unless point deductions are turned on, you never lose points (see Custom Play above). You can even gain points for poor performance, like getting the most questions wrong in a row!
