Adobe Introduces Adobe Type Manager Deluxe 4.1 for Windows
New Version of Font Management Utility Offers More Versatile Management of OpenType, PostScript and TrueType fonts San Jose, Calif., (June 5, 2000) (Nasdaq:ADBEAdobe Systems Incorporated today introduced the newest version of its best-selling font management utility, Adobe Type Manager (ATM) Deluxe 4.1 software for Windows. The new version adds support for OpenType, a cross-platform font format developed jointly by Microsoft Corp. and Adobe, and is fully compatible with Windows 2000. A complete font management utility, ATM Deluxe 4.1 features a drag-and-drop interface that allows users to group TrueType, PostScript Type 1 and OpenType fonts to create custom font sets. By allowing this level of customization, users have the ability to activate and deactivate individual fonts and font sets, significantly reducing the length of font menus and saving system overhead. ATM Deluxe 4.1 also allows customers to export font sets to other users, apply font smoothing to screen fonts, and view and print font samples without having to activate the fonts.
