About Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8 Service Pack 1
This Service Pack fixes bugs in Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8 and adds new features. The Service Pack also includes all applicable Hot Fixes and updaters to date. All languages (English, German and Japanese) and all editions except Trial should apply this service pack, regardless of operating system and with or without the Hot Fix. The service pack will update MediaStudio Pro 8.00.003x to 8.10.0039. Please verify your product version number by clicking the Help > About MediaStudio Pro after installation.

Installation

Please launch the installer and follow the instructions. The service pack is not uninstallable. You don't need to install any Hot Fix before installing SP1. The service pack will not affect your customized profiles and workspaces.

1. 2. When you overlap video clips, one or more tooltips will show the duration of overlaps. Fast Update Mode in Timeline Display Mode - this mode improves thumbnail accuracy when you check Filmstrip mode. In Filmstrip mode, timeline thumbnails were not updated when you drag the video clip to change its time position; Fast Update Mode significantly improves display performance, but also means that thumbnails may drift with respect to time. UNCHECK Fast Update Mode to force the timeline to update thumbnails when time position is changed. Mute L, R, Ls, Rs Channels button is added in Audio Mixing Panel. Now you can mute the 4 channels and then adjust C & LFE independently. Add Smart Compositor Designer to SP1 installation optional. In addition to SmartSound Music CD, Auto Music now also supports SmartSound Sound Palette CD. Product AutoUpdate feature added. Now, you can launch AutoUpdate in MediaStudio Pro 8 program group. It will go online to check if any updates are available and then provide the option to download or not. No personal information will be sent out in AutoUpdate, only the necessary product information to check the updater. Add VideoStudio 10 project support. Add Anti-shaker filter. Now you can stabilize shaking videos with this easy but good result filter.

1. 2. Resolved the issue that Audio Mixing Panel might cause memory leaks when playing surround sound audio. Resolved the issue that when you adjusted Preview Range by snapping the preview range handle to clip edge, the preview range handle would shift 1 frame when you zoom in the Timeline. When changing transition duration in duration dialogue, it moved the position of the second video clip. However, when you changed transition duration by resizing video clips overlap area directly on the Timeline, it trimmed the first video. Now transition duration is changed by moving the second video clip either way. Resolved the issue that Smart Render would fail or behave improperly for PAL MPEG-2 source material. Resolved the issue that when you overlapped 2 audio clips, Cross-fade audio filter was automatically applied. You could adjust the volume of the cross-fade, but the adjustment would be reset when you moved any other audio clip on another track. Resolved the issue that Video Editor couldnt save Media Source Options in the project. Resolved the issue in Audio Editor, when you zoomed in on the waveform view, scrolled the playhead to the end and hit Playback, the audio clip couldnt be played properly. When exporting a Template installer from Smart Compositor Designer and renamed it, the template might not install properly. This issue has been resolved - please reexport your templates with new Smart Compositor Designer. After changing the audio option (Stereo or Dolby Digital 5.1) in Project Settings, Audio Control Panel might behave improperly. This issue has been resolved.

Resolved the issue that titles might shift position when Allow non-square pixel rendering option in Project Setting is checked or unchecked. 12. Resolved the issue that Video Editor didnt retain the preference settings of the Production Library. 13. When zooming out Timeline window in Video Editor, the timeline would actually zoom IN once and then zoom out. This issue has been resolved. 14. Resolved the issue that when Multi-track Ripple mode was turned on and a source clip locked on the timeline, then no more clips could be added into the timeline. 15. In Audio Mixing Panel, when Auto Write was turned on and the volume adjusted, the volume would be reset at the start of every clip, so the volume adjustment couldnt be applied constantly across clips. This issue has been resolved. 16. Resolved the issue that Video Editor sometimes failed to create M2T file. 17. Resolved the issue that Smart Compositor might crash under certain circumstances. 18. Resolved the issue that the Zoom slider sometimes froze after an audio clip was played from start to end. 19. Resolved the issue of asynchronous thumbnails in Filmstrip mode, by adding a new option for Timeline Display Mode. Please refer to New Features section for detail. 20. Resolved the issue that when clicking Z key to Zoom-in timeline after hitting Fit in Window, the timeline didnt zoom in but actually zoom out to minimum. 21. Resolve the compatibility issues between MediaStudio Pro 8 and Adorage Effect Packages (3rd-party plug-in packs). 22. Change the functions of J and L keys on Preview Window back to MediaStudio Pro 7 behavior J decreases the speed and L increases. 23. Resolved the issue that cue/chapter point mode didnt switch when you hit F5 or Shift+F5. Now hitting F5 will add cue point and turn to Cue mode, hitting Shift+F5 will add chapter point and turn to Chapter mode. 24. Resolved the issue of audio channel leakage (include C & LFE). Now you can pan the joystick to a corner to keep only one channel. Combining with Mute L, R, Ls, Rs channels, users will be able to simulate and control 6 channels individually on 6 audio tracks. 25. Resolved the issue that user customized audio filter might fail to be applied on audio clip. 26. When you saved a project which contained masked overlay, the project would be corrupted and failed to be opened again. This issue was resolved. 27. Resolved the issue that user-customized ruler unit couldnt be saved after reopening the project. 28. When overlapping 2 audio clips with auto cross fade, the 2nd clip did fade-in, but the 1st clip didnt fade-out. This issue is resolved. 29. Resolved the issue that MediaStudio assigned random timeline numbers to VideoStudio project when it was opened. 30. Resolve long latency problem when previewing audio filter in Effects Manager. 31. Improve the accuracy of Anti-shake filter. 32. Resolved the issue that DVD MovieFactory 4 retail editions failed to start up if MSP8 was installed after DMF4. 33. Resolved the issue that project file might get corrupted.

34. Resolve the compatibility issue between MSP7 and MSP8. Sometimes, if MSP7 was launched, closed and then MSP8 launched, audio filters might not be recognized anymore. 35. Resolve the compatibility issues between MSP8 and Flash Player ActiveX version 8. 36. Resolved the issue that surround sound audio clip might not be decoded correctly with some sound cards, so only stereo audio would be sent to speakers. Now surround sound can be decoded and sent to 5.1 speaker system with all 5.1 capable sound cards. 37. Resolved the issue that Solo (track) might not work for sub-timeline. 38. Resolved the issue that MSP8 might crash if you import a UVS9 project with overlay track and Instant Play it in MSP8. 39. Resolve memory leak issue when MSP8 up-sampling stereo audio to surround sound. 40. Fix the problem that changing a surround sound clip speed to 50~200 might cause crashing. 41. For Audio Mixing Panel, the maximum group number of tracks was expanded to 8. 42. Resolved the issue that Long Echo audio filter might cause noise. 43. Resolved the issue that audio clips might not be movable after applying audio filter. 44. Resolved the issue that Volume Leveling audio filter might not work for some audio clips. 45. Resolved the issue that Volume Control (the thin line overlay on audio track) adjusting would be reset if you cut the audio clip. 46. Resolved the issue that Volume Control didnt work on virtual clip. 47. Improve the performance when capturing video and insert it into Production Library. 48. Resolved the issue that when you opened an UVS9 project with effect clip, the video or audio clips after the effect clip on track 1 might be lost. 49. Resolved the issue that Video Only option might not work when you batch convert DV files to MPEG-1.

These proxies can then be edited in true real-time, with low demands on system resources. This process is completely lossless, your final output always links back to the original full-resolution files. This is the perfect solution for documentary producers who have embraced HDV and who want to edit on the go. Smart Package mode is great for collaborative editing and archiving. Package and share proxies, edit, then combine as multiple timelines referring back to original footage.

NEW Color Correction Tools
Use the color wheels or adjust Levels, HSL or Curves for an entire image, or select channels such as midtones, highlights or shadows.
