The HL-6050 Series printers offer advanced features that make it easy to set-up and begin using these printers immediately. The HL-6050 Series feature a wide variety of industrystandard emulations including PCL6, IBM Proprinter, and Epson FX. Paper handling versatility
The HL-6050 Series printers offer 600-sheet standard paper input capacity via two built-in paper trays an adjustable 500-sheet lower paper tray and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray. The two paper trays make it possible to store letter-size paper in one tray and legal size paper in the other for enhanced paper handling flexibility.

Expansion options*

A second 500-sheet adjustable tray can be added, bringing the total paper input capacity to 1,100 sheets*. Other options include an internal 802.11b/g Ethernet print server for wireless printing. The printers memory is upgradeable from 32MB up to a maximum of 160MB* using industry-standard 100-pin DIMM modules.

How to Replace the PF Kit (HL-6050)
The rollers are and separation pad are periodic replacement parts. We recommend that you call your dealer or Brother Customer Service if you need assistance replacing the Feed Rollers. Follow the procedure below to replace the Feed and Separation Rollers. 1) Disconnect the AC cord and any cables from the printer. 2) Remove the paper tray. (Fig. 1)
Fig. 1 3) Place the printer on its back. 4) Release the hook, and remove the separation roller. (Fig. 2) 5) Slide the new separation roller onto the shaft where the old separation roller was just removed. 6) Release the hook, and remove the feed roller. (Fig. 2)
7) Slide the new feed roller onto the shaft where the old feed roller was just removed.
Fig. 2 8) Place the printer into the upright position. Follow the procedure below to replace the Separation Pad. 1) The separation pad is clipped into the paper cassette at 4 places. Release the upper tabs of the separation pad by pressing inward gently at the points shown. (Fig 1)

2) Pull upwards gently to unclip the separation pad. (Fig. 2)
Fig. 2 3) After the upper clips have been released, pull upwards on the separation pad to release the lower tabs. (Fig. 3)

NOTE: Be sure not to lose the separation pad spring when you remove the separation pad.
Fig. 4 4) Install the new separation pad by lining up the spring with the small tab on the bottom of the separation pad and clipping it into place by pushing down to secure it. Complete the installation of the separation pad by pressing inward gently at the points shown to clip the upper tabs into place. (Fig. 5)

5) To check the separator pad is installed correctly press it down and release. It should return to it original position. If not repeat from step 1. The completed installation should look like the picture below. (Fig. 6)
Fig. 6 6) Re-install the paper cassette into the machine. 7) The PF Kit life counter needs to be reset to clear the Replace PF Kit message. To do this, press the GO and + buttons at the same time until "Reset Parts Life" is displayed. Now press the + button until PF Kit 1 or 2 is displayed and press SET. The counter will now be reset.
