Did you know that XRY now supports the forensic extraction of data from a whole host of different smartphone applications on the iPhone, Android and Blackberry OS platforms? We now have app support for Face book, MySpace, Skype, Flickr, Gmail, PingChat! and much more. If you want to know precisely what apps we support and where the data is presented in the XRY report, you can now find all the information documented in our XRY Help File. Under the Smartphone Application Info section of the XRY Help File we list all of the different applications support ed, their supported features and where precisely to locate the data in XRY. Hopefully this will help to make your life that little bit easier to navigate the wealth of smartphone data generated these days. If there are apps that you would like to see supported in the future, then do let us know.
Certified Courses with Professional Trainers
We are very proud of our training courses and our trainers, so we thought it was about time they got a mention.
We have dedicated trainers in Micro Systemation; employed purely for this role. They undergo intensive training on both the product and their presentation skills before we ever allow them to undertake delivery of our specialized Certification Courses. The trainers receive regular peer group assessment; we always check their course feedback and update them with every new release of the XRY Forensic Pack to ensure they can deliver the very best training in the business tailored specifically to your needs at the highest standards. Its all too easy to claim you do training in this business without putting too much effort in. Very often we meet customers who tell us they had training which comprised of a mem-

ber of the Sales Department showing them the product in a few hours to meet the training need and then issued them with a piece of paper saying they are now qualified, simply to satisfy the purchasers. We choose to do things a little different at MSAB and take our training seriously. We ensure the course is delivered properly according to your needs and your capability. We assess students at the end of every course to make sure they have understood the necessary key facts. Believe it or not, we do actually fail people occasionally as well. However we think that doing things the right way pays off in the long run and helps build a brand with a reputation for highly qualified professional training.
Digital Forensics Unit, Reykjavik Metropolitan Police, Iceland
Fancy an international liaison visit with a difference? Then speak to the Icelandic Police about phone forensics. They needed a system with full support for mobile forensics that supplied all the necessary hardware and cables for analysis and also provided technical support for the many different issues encountered with devices. The force had previously used other forensic tools and had struggled to get the data out successfully. Steinarr Omarsson the Chief of the Icelandic Computer Forensics Unit pictured here; explained that his staff were wasting lots of time calling other companies to get answers. After the decision to invest in XRY was made the force was delighted with the immediate results.
With XRY we now process 4 or 5 times the volume of mobile phones that we used to do with other tools. Staff now have more time to do other work, which is great.
