The ecoRoute feature calculates your vehicles fuel economy, carbon footprint, and fuel price of navigating to a destination and offers tools for improving fuel efficiency. The data provided by the ecoRoute feature are estimates only. The data is not actually read from your vehicle. To receive more accurate fuel reports for your specific vehicle and driving habits, calibrate the fuel economy. See page 2.
2. Connect your nvi to your computer using the mini-USB cable. 3. Run WebUpdater, and follow the onscreen instructions.
After confirming that you want to perform an update, WebUpdater automatically downloads the update and installs it on your nvi.

Set Up ecoRoute

Update Your nvi
The first time you touch Tools > ecoRoute, you will be asked to enter fuel and mileage information about your vehicle.
Update your nvi 205 series or nvi 705 series product to use the ecoRoute feature.
1. Go to www.garmin.com/products /webupdater, and download WebUpdater to your computer.

View the Fuel Report

If you have entered your vehicle profile and the current fuel price, your nvi calculates your vehicles average fuel economy, your carbon footprint, and the cost of the fuel consumed. To view the fuel report, touch Tools > ecoRoute > Fuel Report. The fuel consumption data is based on estimates for speed and acceleration for an average vehicle.
Tip: To ensure fuel data is always recorded, keep your nvi turned on while driving.
Calibrate the Fuel Economy
Calibrate the fuel economy to receive more accurate fuel reports for your specific vehicle and driving habits. Calibrate when you fill up your fuel tank.
1. Calculate your miles per gallon or liters per 100 kilometers. 2. Touch Calibrate. 3. Touch + and - to enter the result from step 1. 4. Touch OK.
Touch Reset to reset the data.

Adjust the Fuel Price

Touch Tools > ecoRoute > Fuel Price and enter the current fuel price. This information is used to calculate the fuel cost of routes and used to calculate the fuel reports.
Your overall score is the average of three scores: Acceleration scoregain points for gradual acceleration; lose points for rapid acceleration. Deceleration scoregain points for gradual braking; lose points for hard braking. Speed scoregain points for driving at the best speed for conserving fuel, which is 4560 mph for most vehicles. Touch on the Map page to view details about your current challenge. The leaf color on the driving challenge icon changes depending on your performance in the challenge. When viewing the details, touch Stop > Yes to stop the current challenge. To reset your best scores, touch Reset.

Take the Driving Challenge
The Driving Challenge tool helps you maximize your fuel economy by scoring your driving habits. The higher your overall score for a Driving Challenge, the more fuel you could save. To take a Driving Challenge, touch Tools > ecoRoute > Driving Challenge, then touch Start.
Adjust Your Vehicle Profile
You will create a vehicle profile the first time you touch Tools > ecoRoute. To adjust the vehicle profile, touch Tools > ecoRoute > Vehicle Profile. City Fuel Economyenter your vehicles average city fuel economy. Highway Fuel Economyenter your vehicles average highway fuel economy.
Tip: For best results, calibrate your fuel economy instead of adjusting the city and highway fuel economy here.

View the Mileage Report

Mileage reports provide the distance, the time, the average fuel economy, and the fuel cost of navigating to a destination. A mileage report is created for every route that you drive. If you stop a route on your nvi, a mileage report is created for the distance you traveled. To access a mileage report, touch Tools > ecoRoute > Mileage Report, and select a report. You can view up to 20 mileage reports on your nvi. You can also access mileage reports in the Reports folder on your nvi drive/ volume. To reset the data, touch Reset.
Fuel Typeselect a fuel type. To reset your vehicle profile data, touch Reset.

View Driving Tips

Your nvi provides driving tips to help you save fuel. Touch Tools > ecoRoute > Tips.
View the Estimated Cost of a Route
If you have entered your vehicle profile and fuel cost, the Go! page provides the estimated cost of the route.
1. Touch Tools > Settings > Navigation > Route Preference. 2. Select Less Fuel.
Calculate Routes that Use Less Fuel
The Less Fuel route is calculated based on speed limit and acceleration data.
View the Overall Fuel Cost
The Trip Computer also displays the Overall Fuel Cost.

Instructions on how to use Garmin ecoRoute

ecoRoute Overview

1. Switch on your Garmin nvi and then select tools.
2. Then select the "ecoRoute" icon.
3. Your sat-nav will ask you to set-up your car's profile, so select OK.
4. Not you need to select your "Fuel Type". Once you've done that click on "Next".
5. Now enter your "Fuel Cost", in other words how much you pay at the pump in pounds per litres. So if you pay 97p a litre, you would enter 0.97 into this screen.
6. You will now need to enter your "City/Urban Fuel Economy" (Miles Per Gallon/MPG). If you don't know what this is for your vehicle then use this website here and note the "Urban MPG".
7. Finally you will need to enter your ""Highway/Motorway Fuel Economy" (Miles Per Gallon/MPG). If you don't know what this is for your vehicle then use this website here and note the "Extra Urban MPG".
You have now successfully set up the ecoRoute on your unit.

Using ecoRoute

1. Firstly select "Fuel Report" from the menu options.
2. After selecting "Fuel Report" you will be presented with a summary as seen below.
3. By selecting "Fuel Price" from the initial menu options you will be able to update your purchasing price rate.
4. If you select driver challenge from the initial menu you will get this screen. Press "Start" to start your eco Challenge
5. The eco score will increase and decrease as you drive, indicating your econess. The leaf will change from red = poor eco driving, to green = good eco driving.
6. If you select vehicle profile from the main menu then the following page will appear allowing you to modify your vehicle settings.
7. If you choose mileage report, you will get the following page. Please note that you will generate a.csv file in \\garmin\reports folder which you can use for expense reporting on your sat-nav.
8. Alternatively you can go through each report on screen.
