Three Major PC Motherboard Companies Launch First Retail Motherboards with Dolby PC Entertainment Experience Solutions
Next-generation Intel-based motherboards with Designed for Dolby Master Studio make building PCs with the latest Dolby audio presentation capabilities easy for PC enthusiasts
San Francisco, May 26, 2005--Dolby Laboratories (NYSE: DLB) today announced that three leading motherboard manufacturers, Abit, ASUSTeK, and Gigabyte, under their Dolby PC Entertainment Experience licenses, launched motherboards built on the Intel Express Chipset with Intel High Definition Audio implementations that meet the Designed for Dolby Master Studio requirements. Abit's AW8 -Max motherboard, ASUSTeK's P5LD2 Deluxe motherboard, and Gigabyte's GA-8I955X Royal motherboard all passed Dolby's rigorous audio specifications testing. Each of these motherboards features Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Digital Live, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Headphone, and Dolby Virtual Speaker technologies. These motherboards are now available for purchase by do-it-yourself PC enthusiasts.
