Data Projector
Bright, Stylish, and a User Friendly Design The VPL-ES3 Data Projector is an Excellent Choice for Education and Business
The Sony VPL-ES3 is an extremely affordable data projector that is ideal for a wide range of applications from education to business. This projector has a stylish body and provides a brightness of 2000 ANSI lumens*1 with a native SVGA resolution (800 x 600). Also, because the VPL-ES3 comes equipped with a short focal-length lens, the unit can project a large screen size from a very short distance. The supplied cardtype Remote Commander unit also allows users quick and effective control. In addition, the VPL-ES3 has very low fan noise, a password authentication system, and includes a variety of interfaces such as a monitor output, audio output, and RS-232C for control. All of these features combine to make the VPL-ES3 a user-friendly projector, ideal for both classrooms and conference rooms.

VPL-ES3

ANSI lumen is a standard measuring method of the American National Standards Institute IT7.228. Since there is no uniform method of measuring brightness, specifications will vary among manufacturers.

FEATURES

High Brightness and High Picture Quality
The VPL-ES3 incorporates three high aperture 0.63-inch LCD Panels, offering native SVGA (800 x 600) resolution. With a 165W lamp, the VPL-ES3 achieves a brightness of 2000 ANSI lumens.

Low Fan Noise

The VPL-ES3 is designed to minimize fan noise to only 29 dB, when the lamp mode is set to STANDARD. This allows audiences to concentrate on the speaker during presentations.

Monitor Output

Projected images can be monitored during a presentation, which is an ideal feature for keeping eye contact with students during a lecture.

3LCD Projection System

Because the VPL-ES3 uses a 3LCD projection system, projected images are bright and natural. 3LCD is a projection system using three LCD panels (also known as high-temperature polysilicon or HTPS). This system provides high light transmission and excellent color reproduction. It also provides smooth gradients in dark areas, and even helps prevent color breakup.
Password Authentication System (Security Lock)
Once a user sets a password, the projector cannot be used without it. This function helps prevent unauthorized use of the projector.
Input Flexibility (Multiscan Converter)
The VPL-ES3 accepts a wide variety of video input signals from standard definition (SD) to high definition (HD), including composite, S-Video (Y/C), and analog RGB/component via the HD D-sub 15 pin interface. In addition, the unit can accept computer signals from VGA up to SXGA+ (1400 x 1050).

User Friendly Design

The control panel located on the top of the unit is arranged for easy operation. Also, the units front exhaust system causes less disruption to individuals seated on either side of the projector.

Other Features

Short Projection Distance
The VPL-ES3 comes equipped with a short focal-length lens, which make it possible to project images from a short distance. For example, a 60-inch image*2 can be projected from a distance of approximately 1.8 meters (6 feet).
Useful Remote Commander Unit
The supplied card-type Remote Commander unit can be used to adjust key projector settings such as digital zoom, picture freeze, and audio volume. Also, because IR receivers are located on both the front and rear of the projector, the Remote Commander unit can be used from almost anywhere in the room.
