STATE CHAMPIONSHIP QUIZ SHORT FLIGHT
The Cessna 172R aircraft will be used for the competition. Lexington Bluegrass (LEX) will be used as the airport of choice.
A student takes a quiz on aviation skills and aircraft identification The student will fly with accuracy of altitude, speed control, and stabilized approach to the airport The student will have a normal landing in the first 3000 feet of the runway at a speed of no greater than 65 knots During the flight, the student will Use a climb speed 65 knots A target altitude in a rectangular pattern at 1000 feet above field elevation A cruise speed of 90 knots
Correct scores are counted
The symmetry and coordination of speed will determine a winner of this section of the event.
