New Federally Mandated Daylight Savings Time (DST) Observance The Aastra IP Phones now incorporate the new federally mandated DST observance change. This change became affective starting in 2007. The US has made a change to its daylight savings time observance starting in 2007. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 mandates that DST will now begin at 2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March and revert to Standard time on the first Sunday in November. In 2007, DST begins March 11th, 2007, and ends November 4th, 2007.
Note: In previous years, the DST began on the first Sunday of April and ended on the first Sunday of October.
The changes to daylight savings time applies to the U.S. and Canada, but may impact other countries outside North America.

5i Series IP Phone Release Notes Features in Release 2.1.2
Features in Release 2.1.2
This section describes the new features included in Release 2.1.2 of the 5i Series IP Phones. The following table summarizes the new features.
Feature Authentication Support for HTTP/HTTPS Download Methods, used with Broadsoft Client Management System (CMS) Phones can Register with Multiple Servers Using Same User Name Description The 5i Series IP Phones support authentication when using HTTP or HTTPS as download protocols on Broadsoft CMS. IP Phone Release Notes 2.1 Features in Release 2.1.2
Authentication Support for HTTP/HTTPS Download Methods, used with Broadsoft Client Management System (CMS)
Release 2.1.2 introduces authentication support when using HTTP or HTTPS as download protocols (as per RFC 2617) on the IP phones. If a 5i Series phone is challenged by an HTTP or HTTPS server when the server attempts to download the aastra.cfg file, the phone automatically sends "aastra" as the default Username and Password back to the server. Broadsoft Client Management System (CMS) Support The 5i series now support a "Login" feature used with Broadsoft Client Management System (CMS). When a phone, running the 2.1.2 release, is connected to a Broadsoft Server using the CMS tool, a LOGIN softkey displays. Pressing the LOGIN softkey displays a login screen with Username and Password. Username can be up to 40 characters and Password can be up to 20 characters. Domain Name can optionally be added to the Username (e.g. username@domain.com). A user can navigate the screen using the navigation keys (arrow keys) on the phone. The screen provides a SUBMIT softkey for submission of the field information, and a CANCEL softkey for exiting the login screen. Appropriate messages display if the phone reaches a timeout while trying to connect to the server, or if a Username or Password are incorrect. Once the login information for a specific user is entered and accepted by the server, the phone reboots and downloads the user profile. The feature described above is configurable on the phones using the configuration files only. If this feature is enabled, the appropriate softkeys and input fields display on the IP Phone screens.
