SenstecTM Seismic Detectors: For safe protection of values.
Effective security systems from Siemens.
Many are the demands made on the protection of people and property against burglary, theft and fire. That's why effective security systems and fire detection are more important than ever - as well as a reliable partner to provide them. Siemens is one of the world's leading providers of intrusion detection and fire safety systems as well as video sur-veillance technology. In fact, Siemens is the most direct path for solutions for your customers with its comprehensive, high-tech product range designed for every conceivable application. Every company in today's competitive world must keep abreast with new developments. Constant changes in production, technologies and the markets are now a standard. We cope with these changes by innovation on the one hand and ensuring continuity on the other, in the working relationship with our customers, in the quality of our work, and in the safety and reliability of our products. To manufacturers who wish to improve the performance, reliability and - at least - the profitability of their products we offer as well innovative customized OEM versions of our seismic detectors to meet their individual business and manufacturing.
Absolutely incorruptible competence.
Since the beginning of 1970 Siemens (formerly Cerberus and Alarmcom) has been manufacturing seismic detectors to monitor applications in the banking industry, for military services or wherever highly valuable assets are concentrated stored. Optimal security solutions call for a flexible and efficient protection system, which takes account of the differing requirements of operators, insurers, testing institutes and system or subsystem suppliers. The Senstec seismic detectors series is a result of our lengthy experience in developing our own high-quality products in the field of electronic security. Through our worldwide sales and distribution network, we are in daily contact with planning, installation, sales and distribution partners, and we are familiar with local approvals and regulations requirements. This places us in the best possible position to provide customer-oriented services which offer maximum benefit. As additional feature the SenstecTM seismic Standard applications protect a wide range of objects such as safes, night deposits and strong rooms. But Seismic detectors were used successfully as well to protect ticket machines, vending machines, automatic cash dispensers and modular vaults. Thanks to our broad range of seismic detectors it does not matter what kind of material the object to be monitored is made out of: steel, concrete, synthetic and lightweight materials.

Intensity Explosion

Railway
Seismic detectors react to all types of attack tools used today, such as: hydraulic pressing tools, explosives, diamond bit drills, water jet cutting tools, oxygen lances and other thermal tools. But as well as a safe protection from physical opening or removing of the surveilled objects by using steel ropes, lifting platforms, forklifts and trucks is guaranteed when using SenstecTM seismic detectors. Attacks and operational noise, e.g. heavy cash boxes tumbling into the night deposit, cause mechanical vibrations, which spread through the material as structure-borne noise. The patented bimorph sensor transfers theses vibrations into electronic signals. The unique SenstecTM processor analyses the intensity, frequency and duration of the signals and evaluates whether it is just an harmless interference from the environment like operating noise or a real attack, which will be reliably indicated by the detector as an alarm.

GM525/GM526

Specially designed seismic detector for round-the-clock monitoring of vending machines, ticket machines, small hotel room safes and many other objects made of steel. The special low-profile design makes both GM525 and GM526 ideal for use where reliable detection performance is required but available mounting space is limited. The GM525/GM526 enables a very cost-effective protection of vandalism-exposed objects in the public. Equipped with remote sensitivity control. The difference between these two models is the alarm output relay: with the GM525 the relay closes and with the GM526 the relay opens.
The standard Seismic detector for universal application for reliable monitoring of safes, night deposits and automatic cash dispensers. The special low-profile design makes the GM530 ideal for use where best detection performance is required but available space is limited. Predefined settings allow a quick set up for all common applications. An integrated function test monitors the complete electronics of the GM530. Thanks to the analogue integration signal output and the separated predefined settings for sensitivity, response time and shock setting a quick set up for all common applications is allowed.
The multi-purpose seismic detector for protecting strong-room walls and doors, safes, night deposits and automatic cash dispensers. Thanks to the high immunity to environmental disturbance (e.g. traffic, mechanical noise etc.) the GM560 is worldwide the state of the art for seismic detectors. The GM560 features an integrated function test to monitor the electronics. An optional test transmitter additionally makes it possible to supervise the detector with its complete installation.

Ideal for round-the-clock monitoring of strong-room walls and doors, safes, night deposits and automatic cash-dispensers. Specially designed for best detection performance and maximum immunity to environmental influences. The GM565 is specially equipped with an anti-drill protection and a temperature protection. Besides the standard analogue integration signal output the GM565 features a signal indicator via internal LEDs indicating that the right settings for the installation have been chosen.
The GM570 is a fully programmable seismic detector for intelligent object and surface surveillance. The optional Senstool software enables customized user settings and monitoring of the detector performance that makes the GM570 the ideal solution for every application. Thanks to the patented comb filter and a solid state relay the GM570 is immune to every tamper attack. Using a digital-, clock- and comb-filter technology makes the GM570 immune to every sabotage attack. A continuous full system self-test ensures a reliable roundthe-clock operation.
Enhancing the detector performance.
Universal mounting plate GMXP0 It is strongly recommended to use the universal mounting plate on every SenstecTM seismic detector mounting. The use of the GMXP0 ensures an easy installation and a reliable detection performance. The mounting plate may be either fixed with a screw or welded directly on the object to be surveilled. Keyhole protection swivel plate GMXP3 The GMXP3 is used together with SenstecTM seismic detector for the protection of safe and strong room doors with exposed keyholes. An integral microswitch with the swivel plate serves to monitor every arm movement so that any unauthorized swivelling will immediately trigger an alarm. With the system armed, the keyhole is completely covered over by the hardened steel swivel arm. With the system disarmed, the swivel arm swings easily 90 away from the keyhole.
Fixing device GMAS6 The GMAS6 fixing device is used together with Senstec seismic detector
Internal test transmitter GMXS1 The GMXS1 is mounted under the SenstecTM seismic detector directly on the mounting plate or on the supervised surface. The mechanical oscillations from the internal test transmitter are propagated in the surface as vibrations. The SenstecTM seismic detector picks up the vibration signals and triggers an alarm if the detector is functioning correctly. The internal test transmitter tests not only the detector itself, but as well the physical contact between the detector and the protected object.
for the monitoring of safes and strong rooms against attacks by thermal or mechanical tools and unauthorized opening, even with the key, when the system is armed. When the system is armed, the monitoring switch built into the detector plate is closed. It opens and activates an alarm immediately when the detector is raised from the doorplate. During working hours the detector plate is placed to the quiescent plate.

External test transmitter GMXS5 Like a Senstec seismic detector, the
Watertight housing GMXWG0 The GMXWG0 watertight housing is used for mounting seismic detectors and protects them against ambient influences such as water and dust. The housing can be surface and recess mounted in walls, ceilings and floors both inside and outside buildings. If desired, a GMXS1 test transmitter can also be built into the housing. In addition, a PBC provides a large number of terminals. All SenstecTM Seismic detectors from the GM5xx series may built in.
GMXS5 is installed directly on the object to be monitored. This makes it possible to not only test the seismic detector and the installation for proper function, but also allows monitoring of the complete system, including the object. Cracks or loose element connections do not transmit the structure-borne sound and therefore prevent reliable detection. Problems of this kind are recognized early on thanks to the external test transmitter.
Senstool Software The Senstool software enables the programmation of the GM570 directly on site, so that the predefined setting may be adapted perfectly to the environment of the installation. Besides the individual configuration possibility the Senstool software offers event memory, environmental or operational noise measurement and many other useful features. The connection between the computer and the detector is thanks to the optical interface a snap to install. This is only a small choice of the vast variety of useful SenstecTM seismic detector accessories.
Remote test system GMXA8 The remote test system enables multiple SenstecTM seismic detectors to be checked at anytime for correct function from a central position in the security system. The system consists of separate units, test transmitters, generators and multi-indicator panels. Due to its unitized construction the system is easily extended and matching to an existing control unit and indicator system.

Standard applications for seismic detectors.
Automatic teller machines (ATMs) SenstecTM seismic detectors reliably protect attached or free-standing automatic teller machines (ATMs). Reliable false alarm protection is guaranteed through 24-hour operation in buildings accessible to the public. Senstec seismic detectors set themselves apart for use in ATMs with impressive security by distinguishing between ambient noises (both internal source of interference such as the screen, printer and operating noises and external disturbances such as a tram driving by) and those resulting from burglary attempts. Safes and strongrooms One example of use of SenstecTM seismic detectors has been the successful monitoring of safes for decades. In addition to reliable detection of attacks, it is also important for the product to be user-friendly. Intelligent accessories such as the GMXP3 key hole monitoring or the GMAS6 fixing device greatly facilitate operation. Night safe In addition to ATMs, night safe at banks have to be accessible 24 hours a day and safeguarded accordingly. SenstecTM seismic detectors offer protection in this area through reliable detection and reliable differentiation between operating noises such as when a cash box is dropped in or a break-in attempt. Modular vaults Modular vaults are used more and more due to their flexible size. Siemens seismic detectors have been used successfully to safeguard these modular vaults. Although these modular vaults do not transmit the structure-bourne noise from burglary attempts, Siemens Building Technologies offers practical solutions which allow reliable monitoring of all vaults. This is only a small variety of applications were SenstecTM seismic detectors are used for a reliable round-the-clock monitoring. Not only ticket automates and vending machines, but as well weapon cabinets, water reservoirs or pipelines are nowadays securely protected by SenstecTM seismic detector from Siemens.

Focus on details.

Unique patented SenstecTM sensor technology In the SenstecTM seismic detector, the vibration behaviour of the mechanical parts of the intermediate surrounding has no effect on the signal evaluation. The patented bimorph sensor consists of a precisely dimensioned oscillating piezo-bar. This registers the structure-borne vibrations in the very narrowband frequency range which has been used to programme the detector during manufacture. The detector processes the intensity, frequency and duration of the signals that are registered, and uses the programmed key variables as the basis for deciding whether this is an attack, or just harmless interference from the environment.
Easy mounting SenstecTM seismic detector feature a vast number of small details making installation easy and even more convenient. Here is an example: Two captive fixing screws ensure an safe and easy installation. Forget about missing or loosing screws. Even more by using the universal mounting plate you need not bother anymore about a specific torque applied to the fixing screws.
Low current consumption SenstecTM seismic detector have an extremely low current consumption (3mA - GM570: 4mA) which are unique within the security industry. The customer benefits from a smaller emergency power supply. This means less space requirement and less costs for additional back-up batteries.
