The wide array of advanced features built into Alcatels OmniAccess 600 routers provides an extraordinary value: Virtual Ethernet technology provides seamless integration between geographic locations. Layer-2 tagging, double tagging and forwarding, and exclusive network address translation (NAT) capabilities allow transparent LAN access across the WAN. High-availability features ensure no single point of failure. The Border Gateway Protocol version 4 (BGP4) enables multi-homing, allowing organizations to eliminate potential points of failure; the Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) enables redundant router configurations; NxT1/E1 multi-link bundling, seamlessly guards against individual circuit failure and restores bandwidth once a connection has been repaired while maximizing bandwidth across multiple circuits to lower operational costs. Advanced QoS features optimize bandwidth for voice, video, and data traffic. Organizations benefit from crystal clear multimedia communications without impeding data applications. Integrated IPSec VPN, stateful firewall, policy based NAT, and DoS protection. The OmniAccess routers include a full suite of security mechanisms that let organizations guard internal networks and protect incoming and outgoing data from attack. These include stateful inspection firewall and IPSec virtual private networks (VPNs) functionality (optional VPN license required) integrated NAT, ACLs, denial of service protection, DHCP, TFTP, PAP, RADIUS authentication, TACACS+, and SSHv2. OmniAccess routers provide the user with a choice of management interfaces such as a standard command line interface (CLI), WEB browser or standards-based Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to accommodate a users preference. Uplinks OmniAccess routers allow you to standardize your branch access switches throughout the enterprise. They offer a variety of uplinks (DS3, FT1/E1, Universal Serial Port** (USP) and ISDN BRI**) that allow you to connect lower bandwidth branches over USP**, for example, and higher bandwidth branches over FT1/E1 and DS3.
