OmniStack 6124 Base Unit (OS-6124) The OS-6124 base unit requires one OS-6124 Management module to work as a standalone unit. At least one OS-6124 Management module is needed per stack of OS-6124. A second OS-6124 Management module can be installed in a stack of OS-6124 for management redundancy. The OS-6124 Management module is sold with a console cable in the OS-6124 Management kit (OS-6124-MGT-KIT). 2. OS-6124 Stacking Kit (OS-6STK-KIT) The Stacking module for OS-6124 is sold with one short stacking cable (11.8 in / 30cm) in the Stacking kit for OS-6124 (OS-6STK-KIT). 3. Mixed Stack Of OS-6024 And OS-6124: OS-6124 works in a mixed stack in V2.5 mode not in V3.0 mode: the OS-6124 works with the same functionalities as an OS-6024 in V2.5 mode - Stack up to 4 units; - daisy chain stacking link; - optional redundant management. The OS-6124 does not support in a mixed stack its own specific V3.0 functionalities - Stack of more than 4 units; - Stacking loop. Redundant management capabilities must be supported by two units of the same series, ie by either two OS-6024M or by two OS-6124 with OS-6124 Management modules.

Management modules are not compatible with other units. OS-6124-MGT-KIT does not support OmniStack 6024M OR OmniStack 6024E. Conversely, the OmniStack 6024M/E management module does not support OS-6124. 4. Possible Configurations For A Mixed Four Unit Stack: (Uplink modules not mentioned for simplicity)

So the configuration for a stack of six OS-6124 with redundant management and redundant stacking loop with no uplinks is: 6 OS-6124 + 2 OS-6124-MGT-KIT + 5 OS-6STK-KIT + 1 OS-6100-RST-KIT The redundant stacking loop module for OS-6124 is sold with one extended stacking cable (1 meter length) in the redundant stacking kit for OS-6124 (OS-6100-RST-KIT).
