| I recommend Nikon over Canon, which is hard for me to admit because I have had Canon brand loyalty for 15 years. The Canon Speedlite 580EX II is a superb flash geared towards professionals, yet it would be perfect for any amateur that wants great photos also. | |

| The Speedlite 580EX II is the 2nd generation of the 580 series. It has weather proof protection so it is a perfect match for my 5D. This flash is much better than the built in one from my DSLR. | |

| Wow - just when you thought the 580EX was about as good as it gets - add Environmental Sealing - faster refresh yet quieter - great distance and for a... I use this for everyday as well as freelance weddings and I find it much better then the previous. Great recycle time. "Lightweight","Quiet". | |

| Canon Speedlite 580EX II Hot-shoe clip-on flash his is the premier Speedlite for all photographers, including professionals. Did it too tightly. The Canon speedlight eliminates that. The flash worked right out of the box and my digital Christmas pictures turned out great. | |

| I thought it was a good flash but i thought it was a little pricey, the flash cost just as much as the camera. "Easy To Clean". flash works great. But..there seems to be a defect in the clamping mechanism. | |
