DSP Surround Presets

The CDA-5755 employs DSP (Digital Signal Processing) to duplicate mathematically various listening environments. Six typical surround settings are provided for a variety of musical source material as follows.

NORMAL (Flat) Surround mode will not be active. STADIUM An outdoor stadium effect will be created. LIVE A small concert hall effect will be created using little reverberation. CHURCH A church effect of high ceiling with heavy reverberation is created. DANCE A dance floor effect is created using moderate reverberation. HALL A large concert hall effect is created using heavy reverberation.

Adjust the time correction value by pressing the 9 DN button or the UP 8 button within 5 seconds of Step 2. To adjust the time correction value for other speaker, repeat the steps 2 and 3. Note: The time correction setting adjusted can be memorized on memory. Refer to "Memorizing the Time Correction Setting" on page 45.

Within 5 seconds after operating step 1 , press and hold any one of the ) for at least Preset buttons ( 2 seconds. The unit enters the memorization enable status for 5 seconds.

If an Alpine, Ai-Net compatible head unit is connected to the CDA-5755, some or all of the EQs functions can be controlled from the head unit's remote control. Some of the display/functions may be limited depending on the head unit connected. Notes: Examples of the remote control operation are given for use of CDA-5755 and MDA7755R connected. Some of the operations may be changed depending on the head unit connected. So, refer to the Owner's Manual of the head unit. These displays will differ depending upon the Alpine head unit connected. Each operation should be made within 5 seconds.

Select the equalizer characteristic to be adjusted. Refer to page 49 "Selecting the Factory Preset Equalizer Settings".
Press the ENT button to enter the frequency adjustment mode. The first frequency band will be displayed for 5 seconds. While in the frequency adjustment mode, or button to display the press the frequency to be adjusted. Changes to the frequency band selected must be made within 5 seconds, otherwise the unit will return to normal mode.

While the frequency is still displayed, press the 8 or 9 button to adjust for the desired level. If you want to adjust more, repeat the steps above. Note: Some of the operations may be changed depending on the head unit connected. So, refer to the Owner's Manual of the head unit.

2 When your vehicle has the Bracket, mount the long hex bolt onto the rear panel of the CDA-5755 and put the Rubber Cap on the hex bolt. If your vehicle does not have the Mounting Support, reinforce the head unit with the metal mounting strap supplied. Connect all the leads of the CDA-5755 according to details described in the Connections section. NOTE: For the screw 5, provide a proper screw to the chassis installing location.

3 Slide the CDA-5755 into the dashboard. When the unit is in place, make sure the locking pins are fully seated in the down position. This can be done by pressing firmly in on the unit while pushing the locking pin down with a small screwdriver. This ensures that the unit is properly locked and will not accidentally come out from the dashboard. Install the Detachable Front Panel.
