Sound Guide Function

This function will give audible feedback with varying tones depending upon the button pressed. Press and hold the PWR button for more than 3 seconds.

BEEP ON

Press the BAND button and the display shows "BEEP ON." Pressing the button again turns the Sound Guide function off. "BEEP OFF" will be displayed and no tones will be heard.

BEEP OFF

Press the PWR button to activate the normal mode.

Changing Lighting Colour

Press the PWR button for at least 3 seconds.
Press the Preset 6 button to change the lighting colour between green and amber.
Press the PWR button to set the lighting colour.

Turning Mute Mode On/Off

With a cellular phone connected, audio will be interrupted whenever a call is received. This function can be turned ON or OFF from the head unit by following procedure below. Press and hold the PWR button for at least 3 seconds.

Press the T.INFO button to select the MUTE ON or OFF mode.

MUTE OFF

Press the PWR again to return to normal operation.

Demonstration

In the Demonstration (DEMO) mode, the unit scans each source; CD player and CD Shuttle.
Press and hold the DEMO button for at least 3 seconds to activate the DEMO mode. "DEMO" blinks in the display. The unit automatically performs the following scanning operation. 1. Then the unit goes into the CD mode and scans the selections on the loaded CD by playing the first 10 seconds of each selection starting with the first selection. 2. If a CD Shuttle is connected, the unit will go into the CD mode. It will play the first 10 seconds of each track starting with track one of the first disc. 3. The unit continues scanning of the sources as described in 1 and 2 above. Note: Depending on the device connected to the CDA-7832R, not all functions or display indications will operate as described. For details, consult your Alpine dealer.

Tuning to Preset Stations

Press the BAND button repeatedly until the desired band is displayed.
Make sure that the Function indicator illuminates, and press the station preset button that has your desired radio station in memory. The display shows the band, preset number with a triangle and frequency of the station selected.

RDS Operation

The RDS (Radio Data System) is a radio information system using the 57 kHz subcarrier of regular FM broadcast. The RDS allows you to receive a variety of information such as traffic information, station names, and to automatically re-tune to a stronger transmitter that is broadcasting the same programme.
Setting RDS Reception Mode and Receiving RDS Stations
Press and hold the INTLZ (Initialize) button for at least 3 seconds to activate the setting mode.

AF ON AF OFF

Press the Preset 3 button to select the AF (Alternative Frequencies) ON or OFF mode. Note: Use the AF OFF mode when automatic re-tuning is not required.
Press the INTLZ button to deactivate the setting mode.
Press the "F" button. The function indicator will be off.
Press the RDS button to activate the RDS mode.
Note: You can tune in an RDS station while you are listening to a CD. Choose your desired RDS station in 5 seconds after the above step.
Le RDS (Radio Data System) est un systme d'informations radio qui utilise la sous-porteuse de 57 kHz de la gamme FM ordinaire. Receiving Traffic Information While Playing CD or Radio

T.INFO

Press the T.INFO button repeatedly until the T.INFO indicator appears in the display.
Press the DN and UP buttons to select a traffic information station if necessary. When a traffic information broadcast starts, the unit automatically mutes the CD player or the regular FM broadcast. When the traffic information broadcast finishes, the unit automatically returns to the original source play before the traffic information broadcast began. When traffic information stations cannot be received: In the tuner mode: When the TP signal can no longer be received, an alarm will be sounded after 1 minute. In the CD mode: When the TP signal can no longer be received, the traffic information station of another frequency will be selected automatically. Note: The receiver is equipped with the EON (Enhanced Other Networks) function in order to keep track of additional alternative frequencies to the AF list. If the station being received does not broadcast the traffic information, the receiver automatically tunes in the related station that broadcasts the traffic information when it occurs.

Repeat Play

Press the RPT button to play back repeatedly the track being played. The RPT indicator appears and the track will be played repeatedly.

M.I.X. (Random Play)

Press the M.I.X. button in the play or pause mode. The M.I.X. indicator will illuminate and the tracks on the disc will be played back in a random sequence. After all the tracks on the disc have been played back once, the player will begin a new random sequence play until the M.I.X. mode is canceled.
To cancel M.I.X. play, press the M.I.X. button again. Note: If a CD Shuttle equipped with the M.I.X. ALL function is connected, M.I.X. ALL will also be selectable. In this mode, the tracks on all the CD's in the current magazine will be included in the random playback sequence.

Press the TITLE button to select the disc-titling mode. (Refer to page 82).

Titling Disc (Continued)

Press the Audio Control button to store the first character. The first character will stop blinking and the display will automatically advance to the next character. When that character begins to blink, you may choose the next letter or symbol of your title.
Repeat the steps 3 and 4 above to complete the titling. The 8 digits should be filled for the disc title.
Press and hold the TITLE button for at least 3 seconds to record the title. Note: The memory capacity for the disc titles is 18. If you try to store beyond the limit, the display will show "FULL DATA." At this point, no more titles can be stored.

Multi-Changer Selection

Alpine's Ai-NET system will support up to 6 CD Shuttles. When operating two or more changers, the KCA-400C (Multi-Changer Switching device) must be used. If you use 1 Switching device, you can connect up to 4 CD Shuttles. If you use 2 Switching devices, you can connect up to 6 CD Shuttles.

Press the SOURCE button on the CDA-7832R to activate the CD Shuttle mode.

Alternatively, press the SOURCE button on the Remote Controller (RUE-4180) to activate the CD Shuttle mode. Proceed to Step 3 below to select the desired CD Shuttle.
Press the BAND button on the CDA-7832R or the RUE-4180 to activate the CD Shuttle Selection mode.

CHGR-X

The CD Shuttle Selection mode remains active for 3 seconds after Step 2 is performed. Press the BAND button until the desired CD Shuttle indicator appears on the display. Note: If the selected CD Shuttle is not connected, the display will show "NO CHGRX."

Battery Replacement
Applicable battery: Use one CR2025 or equivalent.
Opening the battery case 1 Place the remote upside down on a flat, level surface. Looking at the back of the remote, grasp the battery holder at the bottom of the unit between your forefinger and thumb. Insert a pointed object into the left side of the elongated hole. Slide the pointed object to the right (as indicated by the arrow) while at the same time pulling on the battery holder. 2 Pull the rear cover out with your thumb at the same time. Replacing the battery Put the battery in the case with the (+) indication upward as shown in the illustration.
Closing the case Push the battery holder back into the remote until a click is heard.

Do not drop the disc while handling. Hold the disc so you will not leave fingerprints on the surface. Do not affix tape, paper, or gummed labels to the disc. Do not write on the disc.

Disc Cleaning

Fingerprints, dust, or soil on the surface of the disc could cause the CD player to skip. For routine cleaning, wipe the playing surface with a clean, soft cloth from the centre of the disc to the outer edge. If the surface is heavily soiled, dampen a clean soft cloth in a solution of mild neutral detergent before cleaning the disc.
